Good job for your first jam/solo game. I honestly lost interest after a while, seeing that every level was just more of the same thing. But with a few variations and faster gameplay I could see this getting addicting.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD41 → Block Destroyer

Good first attempt. Game can be fun, don't give up on it. Some fancier grahpics and some music would go a long way. I think it's a good twist on the classic puzzlegames. I would like to test this game again when further developed.
Great concept, though the execution could use some work. You should figure out a way to make the player choices for when and where to shoot more meaningful. I couldn't tell if the different block colors meant anything, for example. Maybe you can add different block types for the player to aim for? And for QOL stuff: One is to allow players to hold down the shoot button. I had to tap it rapidly, which got old fast. You also might want to allow strafing. Only allowing turning made it difficult to change directions while shooting.
Good start! The biggest problem with the execution is that the playing field is so large and the block layout so random that the fact that you can eliminate multiples of the same color by shooting one just isn't relevant for most of the game. There are other issues that people have brought up - the control scheme is awkward, for instance. But the main thing is that without sets of multiple blocks, the whole theme falls apart and it just becomes a game about shooting lots of blocks really quickly. Still, congrats on your first jam game! If you want to pursue this concept (which you could because it could be a lot of fun with another few weeks of work), feel free to hit me up and I'd be happy to give you some more feedback.
I enjoyed this more then I thought I would. Add some faster movement and jumping and it would be even greater. Good job on your first ludumdare
this game is good, I like destroye blocks ^^
Good first try. There's not much to this - no risk, and rewards are pretty random based on how the blocks happen to fall. I'd add some patterns or extra powers or enemies to make it more of a game. But it's pretty, and it works, and there is some complex coding behind the color sets. Nice job.
The most important is the experience you get from the Jam (also my first and solo Jam). I learnt the game needs to have a limit to don't run out of time. Therefore, lot of things cannot be implemented in the Jam, but later.
I really enjoyed breaking blocks!! :D
I like the concept. It controlled well enough and the block spawning was smooth and seemingly issue-free. My biggest critiques would be movement speed (it's a little sluggish, especially early on when there aren't many blocks) and that all blocks take one hit - perhaps if different colored blocks took different numbers of hits, for example. All in all, a solid first entry.
Hey, good work! The overrall idea is good but need more features because after 2 minutes its starting to be boring. The camera and the movement of the character was a bit dificult to manage.Anyways ,good work! :)
Here is our game if you want to test it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/me-da-miedito-la-oscuridad-i-get-goosebumps-in-the-dark
This is definitely a block buster! Kappa...
Nice idea but it needs some more action I think. Same for our game haha..
