This concept is excellent; and your execution is pretty solid too. Well done.

I ended up missing the conveniences of modern terminals (`Ctrl`+`C` to clear the current command, and `Tab` completion). Though, admittedly, that might make this game far easier than you intended.

One possible change - you don't clear out the command buffer when the player dies. That might be a nice feature since they probably won't need the existing command once they respawn.

Also, I'm sure that "Camo-Teggle-Terp-Twotah" sounds amazing in TTS.😄

Great concept and good ld entry

But... I don't want to be eaten by a grue.

Good work, guys! I would be interested to see this speedran. It would also be cool for a hard mode, where you could queue commands up (e.g. jump in 5).

Great idea ! The introduction to the mechanics in the first few levels is very well done ! The retro design works well (I dig the simple yet effective design of the cat !), and the audio does its job.

I wonder if the fact that having trouble to recover after being stuck in a corner slightly too from a keycard (and thus having to go back far enough to process both the walking command and the grabbing command) is intentional. If it is, then all the power to you, this adds some challenge in the early levels. If it isn't, maybe giving the player the ability to plan his moves by allowing him to enter two commands at one would makes his early playthrough easier.

All in all, great game !

I love the pressure this induces. I'm addicted.

Lots of fun. Man, my hand got tired trying to type all those words.

This game was very fun! I enjoyed what I was able to get through, and I also really enjoyed the music. Overall great job guys!

Fun game! You might want to clear the input on death. I had several `jumpright` commands because I was watching the action and not my typing.

You managed to make a typing game stressful. All around flawless execution. Levels and learning curve need some work, but that's the case with all puzzle jam games. One of the best I've played this jam!

this is an amazing concept! I love how the platforms have a bit of runway that's just long enough to have time to type, but short enough to pressure you into typing fast :D

dark-roast-studios 2018-04-25 06:27

nice job! there is a reason why these two genres should not be combined lol, perfect use of the theme :D jump, left, stoop, sop, stop *sigh*, right .....

I always loved terminal input and find that to be much better than GUI in many cases. The game is quite challenging - sometimes you are struggling to put needed commands just in time :smirk_cat:

It would be nice to be able to set a series of commands - like "jump left after 2s stop grab"
