First Comment! I will play and rate! Looks promising so far.

[Edit] Wow. Graphics are nice. Would be funny, if the crowd was attacked.

Damn these graphics look amazing for only 1 weekend of work!

lumous 2018-04-23 08:04

One very long weekend =O =D

Nice looking game and quite fun to play! However I didn't know what I'm gaining from hitting zombies - sure, I get zombie points on the scoreboard, but how does that help me win? Or rather - why would it be more difficult if I don't kill the zombies? Had quite fun playing though, and the "surprise" for winning a set is also quite nice. :D Good job overall!

I managed to win only by spamming click... you need a mechanic to punish cheaters like me! :D

lumous 2018-04-23 08:18

Hmm.. Yes sounds like a swing delay is in order!

Really nice game, pretty challenging.

During my play, I felt like the strong shot was pretty much useless, maybe a lob would have been better?

The Zombie spawning patterns reward winning a game at certain times of day. Since the day/night cycle is real-time instead of turn based, you can strategically hold your serve to win the game when the zombie population is at its peak.

Serving is one of the weaker features of the game really, since the AI seems pretty much incapable of returning a well placed shot. If you want, you can play it like a shooter of sorts by continually re-tying the game on the serve while alternately taking down zombies.

The Art is very cohesive and I really like the style it has going for it. The sound effects that I noticed are good, but there isn't any music, and I feel like the audience and zombies could be more vocal. I found the tennis itself quite challenging, at least on the return game. It would have felt more complete if there was some form of victory / defeat, whether that be at 100 zombies 6 games, or whatever. I really liked the way this tackled the theme though, you have zombies being zombies, tennis players being tennis players, and a game win mechanic which helps unify them.

Since there's still time. I've tried increasing the AI's hitbox, and made the ball much bouncier so it plays better. Rallies last longer as well. Thanks for the advice. Thanks for the review =D

Loved the art style, very impressive work especially given the time period. Sound effects felt a little lacking though, and it took me a while to notice the umpire's speech bubbles.

I didn't find much use for the strong shot, especially given that the AI didn't seem to cope very well with soft shots nearer the net anyway. It was also quite difficult to deal with balls being left in play after a point is scored, as the AI had a tendency to fire them at me.

I can't seem to get the ball over the net, I suck at tennis and savin the world from zombie invasion apparently. Nice graphics, has a very nice style about it.

lumous 2018-04-23 22:09

Use the mouse pointer to choose where the ball will land. There is a little icon showing the landing point.

angelbait 2018-04-23 22:23

Took me a bit to get that it was going where I was clicking instead of just hitting the ball, sweet mechanic when you get good at it! Thanks for the game!

Liking the style! Graphics look good, game plays nicely. Took a little bit to figure out how to be good at it, but it's great once you get the hang of it. Great job

*Eat that zombies  *

love the idea, good graphic, nice gameplay. Good work!

Really challenging. The power shot is difficult to use. Also, I feel that killing zombies should be more rewarding. I didn't bother to pay attention to them really. Great idea though. The art is fantastic.

I remember myself browsing the useful resources like [spam] and I wanted to check out something interesting about that. This is a nice opportunity for me to finally find something like that. Thanks!
