Cute game :) But gameplay is strange a bit
I kept loosing after a few tasks. Is there a way to actually win, or is it a scoring game ?
Also, the captain gets mad reaaal quick. I'd suggest you get him a little rhum, he'll cut us some slack. And maybe add something to visualise easily his madness degree.

That's one harsh captain! I got 1100, but usually way less than that. The visuals are really nice and I like the idea of a micro-managment stealth-ish game, I just wihed there were more to do/manage.
Simple 3D but very nice graphics and good soundtrack! I think that the rules are not explained very well: you must clean the ship but when you play it seems that you must fire the cannons! And I don't understand the chores bar: if it's full, you lose? Despite that, it's a very polished and funny game, good work!
Your game is quite nice, visually and musically, I love the 16 bits "YAAAAAR" feeling to it ! Gameplay wise, I think it needs a bit of tweaking. It's way too hard right now. I'll devellop : - Each task takes too much of your Chores bar, meaning you'll loose real quick, and as such it is very frustrating. - I'd advise to make the captain's behavior programmed, and not random, to give a breather every once in a while, shorter and shorter as difficulty increase. - You should add, after the ludum dare, some variance in tasks. Why not seagull's poop on the desk ? Like a race game, you should clean a serie of poop stains as they appear as fast as possible, or a Rhum/Powder barrel tipped off by the sway, and you must carry them back to their place. Or the Anchor to lower/lift at the captain's order. stuff like that. Of course, with an easier, magic version of each ;)
Overall, I feel it's a really nice game, well thought and orchestrated, with a few flaws that are nearly obligatory, working in the small period of a Game Jam, Good luck matey !
Now, I'm gonna walk the plank for being a useless sailor. Sharkfodder is an easier job anyway !
@Technophage Hey thanks for the feedback! We actually have different spots that can appear on the deck we just ran out of time to implement them as well as the rum barrel that is on the far right of the ship that you would have to bring a glass to the captain. However, we couldn't really find a better way to make the game difficult enough while having rules that the player can follow. Lowering the anchor is actually a great idea and if we continue the game we will most likely include that. Thanks so much for your feed back!
Fun game! Once you add more chores it will get a lot better. Also is really hard to do something beyond the captains sight. It looks great and I', sure it can become a fun and challenging full game! Congratulations!
I like the graphics but I think the game could use some explanation as to how to play it was a bit confusing at first. I would randomly die bu them I realized that I had to do chores. Overall I think the game has lots of room for improvement as well as expansion!

Maybe if you could do shores while the ship is engaged in combat with another ship and that way he messes up your chores and makes you use magic to deflect his cannon balls while the captain is not looking...
But I love it, so much charm :)

Nice game, but quite hard. I never got more than 600 points. It was not always clear to me, whether the captain is currently seeing me or not. There should probably be a more clear indicator (like a screen-space warning sign, or the view frustrum of him changing from blue to red or something similar) Also the walking was sometimes problematic. It was slow and slow in turning (no problem - part of the game), but sometimes the hitbox with the cannons and the plank stairs were a bit weird.
I liked the "Yee be shark bait" easter egg :D
You could maybe make it a bit easier, by e.g. allowing more than 3 concurrently open tasks
Not bad, but pretty difficult game. Sometimes too many chores spawn at the same time and I end up losing. The graphics are nice though.
