Could it be that drifting is permanently on? Pressing k didn't do anything and I was sliding a lot. The game would really profit from some audio and a reset button in case you get stuck. Otherwise the game seems fine.

I liked the phisics and graphics of the game. Nice entry
Really fun entry! I enjoyed the game loop, but wished that the car handling was a little tighter.
Open world racing has never been so much fun... Seriously, this is more fun than GTA. Did you ever play an old PC game called Quarantine? It was more of a shooter but your premise reminded me of it, being about how quickly you could get from point to point in a city, running various missions and upgrading your taxi as you went.
Wow this was really fun. I love driving games in general and when i first started this and the awesome song started playing with me sliding allover the place...
The car is a bit too slippery and I would save the red lines for when only drifting but the design and core idea are still really fun.
Great job :)
I know it's not a driving game but if you have the time test this one out, my humble start but not the worst one :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/sam
@hyohane You are right that the basic controls are already very slidy, but drifting does make it even mroe. It does have a reset on 'r'.
@goffmog Didn't even think about it, but now that you say it. I have watched "Ross's Game Dungeon" on the game. :)
Very slippery controls, getting control over the car after a corner is very difficult. But the music is very poppy and driving. :) Fun city too, if I had a bit more control I could have hit those ramps a bit more. ;)
In General this is a very good game, but the handling of the car kind of ruins the experience. You may consider using other racing games as source of inspiration. The open world looks good and if there were more upgrades the gameplay would be engaging as well. The sound helps to create a fitting mood for the game.
Jumping off ramps and doing some tricks was pretty fun, but car control feels too "floaty". I always felt like i was riding on ice. I think if you fix that, the game would be a lot more fun. Also you've made really nice BGM, props to you for that.
I had fun playing this game, at did feel like I was controlling a puck on slippery ice rather than a car but that just added to the challenge. The controls might still be worth tweaking a little bit. Would like to see a post LD version.
Just one thing, The car's handling is always kinda wonky to me. It seems like it's on permanent drift mode. But I really like the level design. It's so simple yet feels real for some reason.
I kept instinctively hitting the brake whenever I wanted to take a tight corner - it took me a while to realise that I should actually ignore the brake and just hit the accelerator as hard as I could to spin around more. Once I got that out of my muscle memory, I enjoyed this game a lot more. Also: I love the flat-shaded art style!
Amazing physics for a JAM game. It worked like a charm on a XBOX ONE controler.
