Destroying those asteroids feels a little unresponsive since they just disappear. Maybe some kind sound or particle effect when destroying them with that beam weapon (I guess it's a beam weapon)?
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Asteroid gravity

I like that you took basic asteroids and added that gravity element. I felt like maybe I had a bit too much health. Nicely done.
Echo above comment regarding some kind of feedback for destroyed asteroids. Also either not being able to leave the screen or wrapping around to the other side as per original asteroids would be good.
I found the small asteroids pretty much impossible to dodge, but it seems that those collisions don't hurt very much and I can usually out-heal the damage. Later on the larger asteroids swing at you and those seem to hurt more.
I don't know what healed me though.
I really like this game. It reminds me of a game I started to make in my spare time (but didn't finish).
It might also be fun to have a mode where there are less asteroids, but they hit harder, because as it is it's almost impossible to avoid the small asteroids.
Overall it's a really fun game, and I appreciate the use of proper space physics! :)
Quite great, the controls seemed a bit weird at first, but once I got the hang of them, the game became very fun :D
I think your concept is a great interpretation of the theme. It would have been nice to have more visual feedback though, like an effect when the laser is hitting an asteroid, and bars representing the health and mass.
I think it's a good concept, it just feels overwhelming because so many things spawn instantly. Maybe reduce the spawning rate of the asteroids? Other than that, it was a nice arcade-like game :)
Good twist on a classic. Feedback could be tweaked as mentioned for destroying asteroids. I would like to see a health bar as it is very tough to gauge how much damage the different asteroid sizes deal. Also a score system or some other progression response would be nice like a powerup or bonus enemy every 10 or so cycles to break the gameplay up. All together a solid entry, congrats on making the compo!
Nice game!! It feels a bit weird since there are no boundaries on the map and destroying asteriods or taking damage has not many feedback but cool!!
Cool idea, though It was very hard to tell what was going on. It was a lot of asteroids very quickly, so it didn't feel like I could have a strategy. The sound effect was very repetitive for something that you use constantly. Also, it seemed that when you destroyed an asteroid you would regain all of your health which made it so I didn't need to be careful.
A nice idea and good take on the original game. However it was a little too fast paced and destroying asteroids was very unreliable. Nice base but I think the mechanics need a bit of work.
Excellent gravity mechanics and lovely idea behind it; made for an enjoyable game. Sounds were a little annoying, verging on painful, but at least they were there :) . The controls were brilliant, made the whole experience a lot more fun. Overall, a pretty brilliant game!
It was fun to play but very chaotic. I liked how the asteroids behaved and the steering of the ship. I had to mute the sound though since the spam of soundeffects got anoying.
