Nice game ! I'm surprised no one commented it yet. It is pretty polished and complete for a jam game, with a lot of UI, different ennemies, rich environnement, congratulations ! The only thing I could say is that it may be a little too difficult, or at least it was for me. But considering the fact that I'm definitely not the more efficient player in the world it is maybe a good point for your game :P

Really fun and good looking game! I would have loved to play more levels. I liked how enemies drop the weapons they use upon death. The enemies get more abundant and tougher further along the level, adding the perfect amount of challenge. It also forces the player to actually fight enemies to get their weapons instead of just running through the entire level. The sprites look great (except for the boat which was a bit blurry, probably due to scaling).
Funny visuals, I really like them. Weapons (and gameplay overall) are a little bit unbalanced, I would say.
Fun game - really great graphics, very stylised, but a perfect retro feel and just right fx and I like the way it gets progressively harder. Could have done with some music, but good for 48hours work!
Solid game, those pirates need to drop more knives, they're so good! I didn't find much use for the camera, just spoon and knife. Love the graphics, some of the images need touching up as they're a little blurry but other than that no complaint. Great job
I nearly did not make it to the end of the level, collected the last rum barrel with 6 hp left. Was an interesting experience that played well from start to end. Enjoyed the multiple weapon options that were present and liked the idea of collecting them off of fallen enemies. I would have like to have seen more levels but all in all, well done.
Cute game! Has a survival shooter feel with the very limited ammo you get. The weapons offer useful strategic options. Difficulty is nicely balanced, I got a little further every time. Graphics look good but would be better with some animation.
Died my first time getting to the last barrel, then said screw it and speedran the next run to win :). The graphics are simple but you made it consistent so that tightens the experience a lot. I also like that you sprinkled a bunch of random pieces of obstacles, as well as having a lot more enemies than I expected. The color scheme is also great, the mood in general for the game is very uplifting.
Nice simple graphics and gameplay, I liked evading the pirates' knives.
Some of the graphics look a lot blurrier and out of place with the rest, and the player's attack animation/effect needs to be a lot clearer and more impactful.

nice work! the graphics here reminded me a lot of startropics, i love the vibe of being stuck on an island. thank goodness its much easier to stay alive on an island in real life, though. I felt like i was taking a lot of damage just walking around. My favorite enemy was the tourist, having a camera flash as a stun effect is really fun and clever. my biggest feedback is be a bit more generous with health, i got stuck right up against some enemies that drained my life really fast
Nice! :smile: I like how you put a vat of rum right next to the main character at the start, that shows some insight.
I had some problems with the spikes though, maybe it's the skewed perspective, or just that the spikes are yellow and so is the sand, but they hit a couple of times when they 'felt' they shouldn't have.
Also, the menu mentions music, but none is playing... did you just run out of time, or did something go wrong on my end?

A really fun and cute little LD game. The only thing this game needs is some fun pirate music. Well done.
