I didn't quite understand what the insert _ symbols where for, and it felt like anything I put was always correct.
Good luck next time :D

@PlanetHoward I updated the description, those are hieroglyphics which represents 100, 10 and 1 respectively. :)

quentinus60 2016-08-30 12:19

Unique game

stenol 2016-08-30 14:41

Insterresting concept. The math is not my force. Good job.

Nice game)

mvasko2 2016-08-30 15:37

Honestly, the graphics were really bad. Or at least the combination of colors. Not only did it not look good, the help, for instance, was really hard to read (red font on a golden background, why?).

The concept itself was unique enough, but I don't think it was fun.

Sorry for the criticism, it's nothing personal, I just didn't like the game too much.
Don't stop creating though!

Ok, at first I thought I was always right cause the confirm sound never changed, so I just hit repeatedly to take the easy way.. and then I saw the penalty xD
Really nice little game, I love mental arithmetic, and I really felt the Ancient Technology there. Quite a pain when you have to put lots of rocks ahaha
Well done for your entry!

xlipstudip 2016-08-30 17:28

First of all isn't the sound too high :D Good concept i liked it. The graphics isn't best i recommend you use other image programs than MS Paint with using anti-aliasing and choose good color combinations. Theme using that i really liked in this game. Also there is one game thinks nearly you named Abacus or like that maybe you wanna see it. By the way it will be good to add removing the stone while calculating because the challenging point is the time and your speed i think. Good job overall ^^

I like the gameplay concept here, but the execution is lacking. Nice work, and hope you keep jamming!

hawkinslance 2016-08-30 21:38

Good work! Two problems I have noticed is the text at the beginning, the font color did not contrast well with the background color making it harder to read. When putting stones in for the calculations you had to click one at a time making it hard to put in answers with 8 or 9 stones. This almost puts an element of luck into the game. Great concept too, love math!

metalhaze 2016-08-30 23:06

As an artist math is not were i excelled in school. So the gameplay for me was quite brutal. Although the concept is nice and i think my programmer had fun.

What irked me about the game was the color choices and what looks to be mouse drawn letters and numbers? it was very jarring to the eye.

well done for the time that you had!

3pir 2016-08-31 06:46

@mvasko2 Well, the graphic IS not that good, but I think you mean it's hard to read the red texts on the golden background with the shadows... but thanks for the criticism anyways :)

@Xlip Well, I'm actually using Photoshop CS5.1 and yes the main point is like what you have stated. Your time and speed. The absence of the "removing the stone" feature is also to train you to be careful :P , so yeah... fast and careful.

It feels more like a school exercise than a game. Not much fun there but it could be quite good as an educational software.

3pir 2016-08-31 14:56

@Strike This is like an "educational game", I made this because I am calculating something when I realized Ludum Dare 36 had started and found out the theme for it :P, either way, thanks for the feedback. :)
