Interesting take on the theme. I was entertained that it was a valid, though not a very good, strategy to ride a wall up and walk on a path of walls.

Yeah, I figured it was strange that it was possible, but it didn't break anything or work very well so I left it as is. :)

I love the way this looks - the cool colours, the robots and especially the walls as they get chipped away.

On my first attempt I thought I had to get the robots to shoot each other. Later on I worked out that I could damage them just by placing walls.

Absolutely, there are a few ways to get rid of robots. You can even block off spawns in advance if you feel like it (spawns activate one by one until all 4 are going 2 minutes in, at which point it's constant)

I love the story and the graphic style you used, and it an original game overall.

This is pretty bizarre! I like the interpretation, and it's got a nice Terminator feel to it. Definitely needs a cheering robot crowd.

Wonderful graphics, original concept, and absolutely freaking awesome piano music you made for this! I am extremely impressed. Keep up the fabulous work!

Thanks for the support guys, it's awesome when at least a few people actually enjoy a game instead of tolerating it. :D Hopefully I can keep making games that way.

I seem to be the only one posting here to say this, but I really don't get what I'm supposed to do. I played the web version, and maybe there's something missing there. Are the things that fly towards me supposed to look like enemy bodies? That might have been a bug.

I think maybe the camera should be pulled back so that I can tell what I'm doing, and apart from that maybe a clearer explanation or a video of the game in action.

It sounds like a cool idea, and I love the setting, but I'm at a loss as to what to do :(

toeofdoom 2010-08-24 21:26

You may be the only one here to say that, but people elsewhere have definitely said the same thing. Essentially, theme is enemies as weapons... for other enemies. So they have cannons on top and actually fire each other at you - it's no bug. :)

I've found that it's easier to tell what's happening in fullscreen mode, but you might be quite right about the camera. I haven't really thought about that. Another part of the problem is that when the robots get fired they "jump" straight to the cannon, not moving smoothly at all.

I had to laugh when I saw alistair's comment, because I was thinking exactly the same thing when I played it. Then I quit and read your description above, and it made a lot more sense!

I found the best strategy was to wall yourself in, and just keep repairing the one(s) that broke. I lasted for ages.

The graphics are cool, but I had to run it in a fairly small window with the quality turned down due to my crappy laptop. I'm sure it looks better fullscreen.

The music was well done. Congratulations getting a complete game finished.

toeofdoom 2010-08-25 11:36

My brother discovered the same strategy :) I think he got to 1023? I suppose spawns should be all the way into the corner or something to combat that. Or maybe it's just the base game mechanics ruining everything :P

bluescrn 2010-08-26 12:58

Nice graphics, and the music adds a lot of atmosphere.

The camera could have been better, though (further back, raised?) - as I found it quite was hard to judge where things are, and maybe the player controls seemed a little slow?

pekuja 2010-09-05 09:45

Well, the game was kinda boring and the theme usage is a bit dubious. The graphics are nice, and you get points for effort on the Double Rainbow rendition (or was I imagining that?).

stqn 2010-09-06 13:44

I don't quite get what's going on. Some sound effects would be nice (more important than music for an action game IMO!)
