I don't think this worked right at all. If it did, it really was impossible to understand what was happening. It started out with paper showing on the computer's side, so I figured scissors would be good (how nice of him to go first!), but that was "Winner is No One". So I figured okay, that was just a starting image, and then it shows what the computer picks right when I click. Only, it doesn't work that way either. I tried clicking Paper every single time, and it seemed right at first, but then it showed Scissors in his window, and yet still said (sometimes) "No One" won. I just don't get it.
Also, clicking on the buttons made it beep like it was an error. I don't know if that was audio or a problem.
Yeah, something weird is going on. The AI idea seems nice, but I ended up ahead anyway.
If it has to be launched with a specific command line, how about making a simple batch file next time?
When it launched I got a 1-pixel high window, which I had to resize in order to get the screen.. and after that, it went pretty much like Hamumu put it.
You must've messed something up. I had the same problems Hamumu did. It also didn't seem like the AI caught on to anything I did very well. I could keep selecting paper every time but it would still be about 50-50 with the win/lose ratio.
Same for me as for Sol and Hamumu... The only thing that seems to work for the computer is them rock, me scissors...
I think rand(3) might have worked better for the AI ;)
The pictures sometimes don't update propery, which is a letdown, since it's actually quite critical for the game. Can't really say anything proper about the AI, but it did beat me (maybe luck, maybe skill :P). A pretty simple and old game idea here, not really anything new.
wasn't really sure how it was supposed to work. I couldn't find the correlation between what image was shown on the computers screen, what I clicked, and what win/loss message showed. Didn't seem to work right? Sorry. :(
Could not run it. It complained about swing group something...
Rock-Paper-Scissors was definitely a minimal game. Still, I agree that this game could have stood to use some more polish.
Bugged out on me after I reached a score of 418. The buttons wouldn't work properly after that, and it didn't seem to roll any games. It just sat there with the same numbers and same computer symbol.
I was performing a statistical analysis of the game made possible by holding down return on one button and observing the score numbers. For some reason, scissors created a roughly even score while paper made me gain a slight upper hand of +20% or so compared to the opponent.
It would have been less interesting without the bugs and anomalies :)
