Oct 22 01:20:57 TapeSides ♥ 1 I completed the 3 levels and found the game overall to be enjoyable. I died a few times on level 1, and it does sort of provide the largest challenge of the 3 games, but I really like the aesthetic of the stage and obstacles here the most. Would be interesting to see mini mode have more of an interesting mechanical use, but I like the visual effects from using it! The slippery character controls has caused me a few deaths trying to get the key just underneath the exit door. The level design here is kind of basic and the level could have been more interesting if the key was more hidden or the level was **slightly** more explorative, but overall the level wasn't bad. The level select of being different objects is cool, and the aesthetic and mood of the game is pretty good. I also like the little cassette tape character! Overall, a good entry!
Oct 24 16:21:12 63h 00m Haunted Score ♥ 1 As someone who also made a jam entry around the theme of the Game Boy, I had to check out this game. I think the idea of someone interfering with you playing a game is cool concept. I can imagine a simple platformer or something where the ghost hand tries to press buttons to mess you up while you are playing. The ghost gets awfully aggressive around the 5000-6000-ish mark so I wasn't able to beat their score. No need for them to go directly after the player I guess! I like the visuals and sounds of the ghost hand as well, quite creepy!
Oct 24 17:05:50 44m 38s Moth in the Machine ♥ 1 This almost doesn't feel like a game jam game with how high quality it is. Admittedly the walking to destination and hold mouse button gameplay isn't the most fun, but everything else from the graphics, mood, audio, and the story is very polished! The hints were almost necessary for me in order to play, but if it continued through several days in the game, maybe start having the player figure out and learn how everything works to the point where they become an expert on how the system works and it becomes routine. A very polished entry, well done!
Oct 25 19:08:25 26h 02m A Little Louder ♥ 1 Nice game, I like the unsettling dark atmosphere and character designs. I think the text box should be a bit more obvious that it's there, because at first I wasn't sure what to do until I noticed that it even was a text box. Other than that, I think the game is pretty solid and would be cool to see expanded upon with new gimmicks and perhaps some more horror elements!
Oct 25 19:44:49 36m 24s Telerhythm ♥ 1 This game makes me wish I was more ambidextrous. I did somehow pass the "tutorial" level, but the level after was where I noticed that some of the issues/bugs that you pointed out started happening. What I did manage to go through was a lot of fun though. Perhaps instead of failing from missing beats, it would give you score from successful ones, then you have to meet some sort of threshold in order to proceed. That way the player can play through the whole music for practice, then try to work on doing better by repetition. Nice work!
Oct 25 20:16:59 32m 10s Troll the King ♥ 3 This game was very charming and humorous to play. I think the highlight of the game is writing the letters. The art and music is very well done, and the gameplay is simple and fun. I'm curious about how the letter writing is implemented and what works as an effective insult or not.
Oct 30 00:36:43 100h 19m Trick Or Retreat 4 ♥ 1 A pretty charming game. It took me awhile to figure out what I was doing between the grabbing of pedestrians and their treats and erasing their memories of what just happened. I like the ideas but the gameplay of moving while grabbing onto people or dragging the memory eraser onto [!] pedestrians feels sort of cumbersome to do while constantly moving forward. Basically I shouldn't grab anyone that's too close to me or the screen or they'll go off screen before I can erase their memories. I do like the physics of grabbing people which may be something you could lean into if you plan to continue any development on this. The music and sound effects are also very good, I like the UFO acceleration and grabbing, and the music is pretty solid! Nice job!
