| Apr 20 08:21:06 | FINDER-1 | ♥ 1 | Very cool, I completed the game, loved the story and the journey we went on. Really nice job with the audio as well. Overall, such a good fit for the theme. The relaxed mechanics with the hint system made the game as easy as it needed to be to just keep going and enjoy it all. At the start when the compass is used briefly could have been expanded on, or adding a little challenge by having to find larger landmarks to narrow the search to an area rather than relying on the hints would have been cool (Ofc you probably considered that, time constraints and all, very cool to get this done in Compo). Nicely done, thanks for making! | |
| Apr 20 08:54:42 | 33m 36s | Avalanche | ♥ 1 | Nicely done. I found all the members, had fun exploring the world, seeing the little creatures and tanking jumping from great heights! A superb look and audio design I thought. I think the camera worked well so good choice. If the rescued people had provided some narrative like you suggested that would 100% have broken things up a little. I felt like I found a cave behind a mountain at one point so was always checking if someone was there π. Little secrets to discover when you're tracking back and forth to add to the gameplay would also be the cherry on top but overall I'm very glad I played and got to immerse myself in this little world for a bit. |
| Apr 20 10:24:40 | 1h 29m | ONE BAR | ♥ 0 | Very interesting take on the theme, nice work! I was hoping for a bit more interaction on finding a decent signal/score. Maybe a couple of trial runs before the lock would have been cool! Really wish I'd gone up a peak today π |
| Apr 20 10:36:12 | 11m 32s | Lost Focus | ♥ 1 | Hiya @helslo , nice work for your first LD, love the intro animation. I'm struggling to figure out how to progress, I see the signal bounce can become solid (also v cool mechanic) but not sure what to do? Any suggestions for myself and others? |
| Apr 20 10:50:56 | 14m 44s | Misplaced | ♥ 1 | Loved the dialogue and made it to the ending. Great music, nice fun game with a cool look. Now, higher or lower rating due to the ending? π I think... higher. I've a little bopping dude on my 2nd monitor right now. |
| Apr 20 11:23:06 | 32m 10s | LaΓ― Express | ♥ 1 | Wow, absolutely love this (do I like train management games?! Maybe not crazy, I love base builders etc). Really polished system, didn't experience any problems, just had a lot of fun building solutions and then managing them. I thought the dialogue worked well and the audio was lovely. Did mute the bg music but only because I was playing for so long! |
| Apr 20 14:39:54 | 3h 16m | Space Rover | ♥ 1 | Interesting take on the theme, nicely done, appreciated that you had two game modes in there! I think I had some audio glitches in mine (music disappeared etc) but could be Firefox. Enjoyed figuring out how to compensate for the delay or try to complete a mission with as few sets of instructions. Manual mode could be cool if the signal delay fluctuated and both modes: that since there is a delay, if there was something realtime that you had to deal with it would make it a lot more challenging. Thought it was cool that you started off in a sort of testing lab and then went off planet! Thanks for making! |
| Apr 20 15:40:06 | 1h 00m | Flirting 101 | ♥ 1 | Really polished, had loads of fun puzzling it out. Nice SFX π |
| Apr 20 15:48:46 | 8m 40s | Error: no signal | ♥ 1 | Short and weird, real shame there's not more or much interaction, I can see the potential! Thanks for unleashing this onto the world! |
| Apr 20 16:48:35 | 59m 49s | DO THE THING! | ♥ 1 | Well, I really like it but I'm stumped after 3 objects in and no more happy sounds from my friend π Really like the game idea, the graphics and audio are great, def had fun! |
| Apr 21 19:09:33 | 26h 20m | Build Artifacts | ♥ 0 | Got my first PS emulator running for this (DuckStation, thanks for the tip) and had a blast. I think I've got pretty close to the end, I think I have the message decoded (just did R06) but struggling to find the actual location. Will have to come back to. Really impressive stuff that you've not just made a PS1 game but one that looks good, with quality music and a cool narrative. |
| Apr 21 19:23:24 | 13m 51s | Dr. Cool Whale Against The Electronicles | ♥ 1 | Wow, honestly what an impressive entry. The look and audio is so well done but the theme concept is fantastic, I had a lot of fun on a few plays. It's a cool mechanic, absolute chaos of course but fun chaos. I did struggle with controlling the mid ranges (I think that's what the problem was) but perhaps a skill issue π Best of luck with the ratings, I think one of my faves so far. |
| Apr 22 13:58:54 | 18h 35m | Broken Jukebox | ♥ 1 | Haha a real gem, great concept and some right bangers. Would have loved a little more variety / difficulty in the controls, maybe a little difficulty ramp as the night went on but really I'm just trying to provide some constructive feedback. The little dancing to the beat was charming. |
| Apr 22 18:11:27 | 4h 12m | The Hive of Queen Bee-Atrice | ♥ 1 | @domenixius I have achieved egg-cellence, what a fun and cute game! Good work with the audio and game loop, all tied together really nicely. One critique I could offer up is the movement and the firing being connected made aiming a little awkward (mouse for firing direction would have been better imo) but I suppose colliding with the bugs wasn't a danger, maybe the bee should have fired stingers out the bum! π Thanks for making, top stuff. |
| Apr 22 19:18:36 | 1h 07m | Static | ♥ 1 | Very slick, enjoyed my short but sweet time with this one. Really like the atmospheric lighting and the ominous feeling the game creates. I know there are plenty of gameplay/content changes you could make with more time but I think a quick win would have been a little bit more narrative to help tie to the theme / invest us a bit more. Really well done, thanks for making! |
| Apr 24 16:46:39 | 45h 28m | Love Caps | ♥ 1 | Loved it! Mycelium network is a very cool take on the theme and I really liked the effect of time passing / music playing only when moving. Maybe the size of the bar and the drain could've been tweaked to give less of a stop start experience (maybe some varieties of stamina boost size to offset) but it was part of the experience and skilled playing already handles it. Really nice stuff! |
| Apr 27 17:23:25 | 72h 36m | Speed Signal | ♥ 1 | @pkenney Love a Phaser game, very polished. Also very frustrating at points π The banana going flying rather than a full reset was such a nice touch. The connection to the theme is one of the weaker elements, if the signal had changed the robots speed a little at points or via the environment I think it would have tied together v nicely. |
