| Oct 7 23:10:42 | Squirrel Family | ♥ 1 | GG on first LD! Art is cute. Sound effects are everything I want in a jam game. My general nitpicks are due to the limited time frame you probably already know about, hit boxes are unforgiving (It's nice to give the player some wiggle room to make things seem close but still survive as opposed to seeing a big gap and still dying), an audio queue to go along with the owls decent could be useful as it both adds stress and gives the player feedback as to what's going on. I really struggled with spacebar as the action key, I kept trying to jump with it. Adding key bindings for arrow keys along with WASD is always a nice touch for left handers and is usually just a quick add on. I did have to restart several times due to ponds being underground. Good job with button feedback and in game tutorial info, two things often left undone on jam games. owl.png | |
| Oct 9 13:10:59 | 38h 00m | Da Eg Hatcha | ♥ 1 | uwin.png ew money. reject materialism. good game difficulty for a jam imo. at first it's really hard but then after a bit it just clicks. |
| Oct 10 21:48:16 | 32h 37m | LD56 - Serpent Surge | ♥ 1 | I thought it was too hard at first but was able to finally not die after the 4 play through. So maybe the difficulty is actually perfect since it kept me playing to try to get a best kill combo early on. |
| Oct 12 16:23:01 | 42h 34m | Fastigrades | ♥ 1 | Played on my phone #nobreaks. So close to being 100% phone compatible. Very smooth looking graphics. Love that it included water bears. Screenshot_20241012_091843_Chrome.jpg |
| Oct 13 01:05:10 | 8h 42m | Lab Rat | ♥ 2 | The art and animation is top notch. The music selection fit really well (good job crediting it). I loved the human peering in the background, it took me a minute to even notice it. Overall mood was perfect. I did get stuck several times and it felt kind of lucky to get the boxes to stack. Doing a couple of simple levels with more dialogue from this gruff jaded mouse who has seen some stuff would be been a good addition. |
| Oct 13 16:43:52 | 15h 38m | Snail away | ♥ 1 | I am biased, but best game of the jam. 🐌 I've played around with similar mechanics in the past but you did such a better job than I did. I'm surprised I didn't get stuck once when playing, very flexible movement. I'm struggling to think of any critical feedback. Audio sliders would be nice, but hard to fit in with time limit. |
| Oct 13 18:16:25 | 1h 32m | Petri Plate Potpourri | ♥ 1 | At first I was clearing plates but only later realized I was doing it for the "wrong" reasons. Thinking red or angry faces were bad. I thought that could have been better messaged (for those of us who don't read the instructions 😆 ) BUT I figured it out without making any mistakes in the early stages, so maybe it's the perfect amount of slow progress to let the player get a handle on the game play. Very nice game loop with increasing difficulty. It didn't occur to me right away until the later levels that your time carried over into the next stages. First play through made it to plate 8 without any mistakes until panic selecting on 8 due to running out of time. Second play through made it plate 7 because I didn't realize incorrect guesses carried over and was being more careless for speed. Third play through made it to 10, I did have some mistakes I was surprised at where there was a single color one I was sure was the imposter but wasn't, I realized I need to be more careful at looking at matching traits. Clearly lots of replayability for the game. report.png |
| Oct 13 18:27:38 | 11m 13s | Ultimate Mug Ball: Desktop Edition III | ♥ 4 | More fun and complex than I realized it would be. I threw it off the table so many times with the tall guy, I couldn't help but go for deep court shots. There is a large curve for understanding the players, abilities, spin, and object placements that is great for replayability, though that might get missed by most people looking for a quick playthrough. This is an ambitious game that you managed to pull off! gg. |
| Oct 13 18:45:39 | 18m 01s | Gob | ♥ 1 | Loved it. One of those games that you are guaranteed to play until the end. The baby race was such a funny touch. At first I didn't like the pause in mid-air grab, but pretty soon I felt like Neo snapping up those flies while doing a 360 no scope. |
| Oct 22 17:41:45 | 214h 56m | Ant Simulation | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed this. Would have loved for there to be a competing colony and bigger map (obviously hard to do in a jam). Digging a tunnel straight through an apple is for some reason hilarious. There's gotta be food around here somewhere... swarm.png |
| Oct 22 20:40:58 | 2h 59m | A Bug's Wife | ♥ 1 | 10/10, has snails 🐌 Fun game where I wanted more stages after each new mechanic was introduced. Don't tell anyone, but I haven't figured out stage 8 yet... embarrassing. The little animation when you can't move in a direction is such a nice touch. |
| Oct 22 20:56:02 | 15m 04s | Snail Trivia Race | ♥ 2 | I was expecting snail trivia 😆 I still crushed it and left my opponents in the dust. Eat my slime trail. |
| Oct 22 23:38:22 | 2h 42m | Guzzling Ants | ♥ 1 | I liked the gray scale, it gave a good mood for it. The fog of war was a fun touch. who needs frames when you have ants. ants.png oh no. food scarcity. nofood.png |
