| Oct 7 18:56:59 | 18m 07s | Viral Inflection | ♥ 2 | Short and fun ^^ nice use of theme! |
| Oct 8 10:06:52 | 15h 09m | Hang On! | ♥ 1 | Nice idea and use of theme for a short game :) Scored 33 so far ! Also liked the idea of seing night fall come along with difficulty increasing ^^ Good job! |
| Oct 8 10:20:02 | 13m 10s | DNF | ♥ 1 | Hey hello @pkenney, hope you're fine ! No shame to have, health and loved ones is above anything ! I already have few of your games to test from previous LD i missed myself :) I Hope you will get well soon, cheers ! let's keep in touch ! |
| Oct 8 10:36:57 | 16m 55s | Nomnoms | ♥ 1 | Haha nice take on the theme :) quite satisfying indeed to see a swarm destroy everything on your path ^^ Gameplay is a little bit contemplative as it felt quite easy to beat ^^ Maybe a very small mechanic to add difficulty could be a nice to add ? Otherwise the SFX used are perfect, makes the nomsnoms cute and fun :) I really like that B&W&red minimalist graphic style (Downwell ftw), the fluidity of the swarms moving around keeps my brain entertained :p Also for info there might be an issue with html version: Failed to read the 'serviceWorker' property from 'Navigator': Service worker is disabled because the context is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag. Good job, cheers! |
| Oct 8 11:05:34 | 28m 37s | Vox Regis | ♥ 1 | Awesome idea and execution! As always @sheepolution doesn't deceive, absolutely astonishing and impressive to see such levels of finish for a compo game. I'm in absolute love with the palette and visuals. SFX are great and entertaining, I had a great laugh; gamefeel and interface super sweat, amazed from the very main screen menu. The game mechanics is a bit easy once you have a strategy but this is enough to require having one to test. Mine was somehow to blame factions one after another for the less important issues to keep them away from real issues I did nothing about. It took me 40 ~~massacres~~ speeches to stay for the whole 5 years. I could be king now (or France president), I'm ready. Close to perfection for what a compo game could be, this is one that will end up in the top ranked list IMO. Awesome job as always, Cheers! |
| Oct 11 10:16:04 | 71h 10m | Frogotten Focus | ♥ 1 | Interesting take on the theme, but I had some trouble taking damage but not really understanding why; I only saw some monsters on the bottom but never in the painting so i couldn't shoot them neither as it only shoots horizontally ? Well done for a first LD game anyway :) Tried html and last build, falso fullscreen but i think i miss something ; also music sounded nice ^^ Good job ! |
| Oct 11 10:25:05 | 9m 01s | Crossfire | ♥ 1 | Very smart take on the theme, and funny gameplay idea :) cool smooth graphics, I wish i could turn a little bit faster and that ants would not have such precise autoaim from so far i can't see them aha :) Well done ! good job ! |
| Oct 12 15:37:31 | 29h 12m | Insect Racing League | ♥ 1 | Perfect take on the theme and great/clean execution! AI opponent seems hard to beat btw, but it was great to have ghost and scoreboards. It reminds me some old arcade racing games :) Even knowing it's asset well done assembing it, that looks colorful and nice. Feels good to be a flying insect. As a suggestion, i thought it could add difficulty and fun to have some interaction with assets, like colliding with flowers ^^ Well done, good job! |
| Oct 14 15:19:53 | 47h 42m | Build The Sun | ♥ 1 | One of the best so far! This is probably one of cutest entry, and also the one that kept me busy for the longest time here, yet I couldn't build a sun XD in fact after several hours i minimized the game and went AFK and when switched back to it my creatures have been travelling too far for hours, and I lost any hope to find back the main fire :') I'll try to build a sun once again later but it was not a lie when told it requires some grinding, it already kept me busy at least 2 hours aha ! Visuals and sounds were sweet, juicy animation of tiny dark creatures are lovely and satysfying, and gameplay far ahead from average LDJAM game expectations. The whole thing feels unique, such as the tiny creatures that obviously fits perfectly the theme. Also I enjoyed the nature of the goal. It's close to perfect for a LD game, thus said here are some small ideas that came when playing: I accidentally deleted few times the objects creatures were carrying on (some other talked about it above), maybe another mouse button for destruction would avoid this, that can be frustrating when deleting something hard to reach :) Sometime I gave up waiting for creatures because they were too far and I was unsure someone was indeed coming or not ; maybe a small arrow/indicator could help knowing if we wait in vain clicking or not ? when I finally got lost, I thougt a small arrow such as when starting the adventure when going too far would have been appreciated :) Also, for same reasons, a pause/save or windowing feature; ut of course these are requirement that comes from the fact that the game has a lot of content to show and is able to keep us entertained for hours to get there; so only good things in the end :) Congrats, well done ! |
| Oct 14 16:22:02 | 1h 02m | Ego | ♥ 1 | I didn't expect to play something such atmospheric/meta and heart touching. I felt like I've been in the same situation as the narrator too many times already, with urge to express some distress to whoever would read, and maybe who knows, understand. The progression really builds an atmosphere, a little bit oppressing, until it became quite sressfull :) I couldn't really understand how to escape to TRANQUILITY in the end so I then cheated to godmod and had a deeper look around... I enjoyed B&W visuals mood and style, and these extra shaders and noise were perfect in the context ;) It was also really cool to feel implicated in the game somehow on a "meta" level (no spoiler), some stuff was quite unexected and nicely surprising :) As this personal/meta part is assumed, i'd like to get a little deeper in my thoughts in return to what the game offered, not sure it's relevant but it's a game about sharing thoughts right ? Nagging thoughts can be a pain, hope you're fine if you may had some during jam; I believe such art can help releasing them ; also i'd say you don't have to be sorry neither for loud noise or anything else :) It even have volume options so... Some like it, some may not, personnaly i wouldn't care so much, the SFX in question and words about it made me smile :) Also hope you don't get exhausted switching from jam to compo, even if that can be satysfying to add some polish in my case it often gets my mood and sanity worse for a small benefit aha. It's quite a relief for me to have learning / fun as a goal during jams instead of the eventual player's or even my own expectation from a "game". In other words, it's neat to have some introspection induced by a game, congrats for that. what a cool game indeed cheers! |
| Oct 14 16:49:33 | 27m 31s | Howard and the Ants | ♥ 1 | Quite hard but there is something addictive trying to uncover all the map; in the end I could'nt find the ant's material but discovered quite the whole map dying brutally for nearly one hour XD It took me some time to really understand themechanics, however I felt like ants are a bit unfair, especially in dark zones ; i wish there was a little bit more brightness. Controls felt a bit raw, as mentioned a mouse cursor could help aiming ; as a suggestion I think gamefeel control can be enhanced with some lerp when releasing arrows, or requiring the player to press again jump key to be able to jump. Adding a timer on jumps (as you noticed on mine ;) may allow to control jump height and also that extra button press from player to jump again. Another dirty cheap trick could be adding some lerp on camera movements rather than fixing the player in the center of screen. Great take on the theme and funny to try different strategies and path along my way throught the ants ! |
| Oct 23 11:04:43 | 210h 15m | Tiny Terrors | ♥ 1 | Cool take on the theme, funny twist with mutaion and dialogues; odd collisions and delayed shooting makes things a bit hard but I enjoyed trying to combine updates to survive a bit longer. Well done, congrats for your first LD game ! |
| Oct 23 11:10:45 | 6m 02s | Gnaw Moreļ¼ | ♥ 1 | Cool take on the theme and short simple implementation :) Scored 751, was that cheating? XD brave_05hySywyZw.png |
| Oct 23 11:15:44 | 4m 59s | GO BLO | ♥ 1 | Well done and cool take on the theme, it's always satysfying to have the feeling leading a swarm with all these little guys living their lives (and also often shortening it ahaha). Very cool game idea for this jam, minimalist design is neat. I wish there was a litle bit more content as it was taking a very good shape (i loved the foot stomping idea ehehe), but that's a very neat compo game already :) |
| Oct 23 11:45:27 | 29m 43s | Thoughts of tiny creatures | ♥ 0 | Nice take on the theme, not sure I've figured everything but there is indeed a special feeling here with dialogs and intent ^^ I collected all the fruits still the catterpillar didn't care about me I was confused XD Then tried the SERIOUS BUTTON but didn't understand what was going on.... then restarted after reading your comments and finally found the tiny creatures final form ^^ Nice story idea, weird gameplay and design but cute message in the end. Controls were a bit funky so that makes it both a little hard and fun to playwith. Don't be sorry for lake of experience that's a good start! few things in my mind in case it might help a little: maybe controls feels odd because it seems the player has a round shape (seems legit btw) also as mentioned the camera keeping player on bottom makes gameplay a little hard but that's part of the fun :) |
| Oct 23 13:26:48 | 1h 41m | Shrew | ♥ 1 | That was lovely. Awesome take on the theme, and very polished entry. Everything works quite great together, and gives us smart and funny simple puzzles. I really enjoyed their was so many animals to talk to, absolutely each one felt fun and cute. It was smart to use the field of view and the maze the cave builds as a gameplay element itself. The end was also very polished and lovely... Well done ! One of the smartest approach and with the best vibes ! |
| Oct 25 22:12:35 | 56h 45m | Wispering Woods | ♥ 5 | Very cute and polished entry :) Great to see so much nice content together, it gives a simple but pleasant game ^^ Dialogs and characters were attaching, the forest monster was quite oppressive it almost gave me chills times I encountered him XD Cool visual and sounds, fun dialogs and a polished game loop, very cute game <3 well done ! |
| Oct 25 22:28:21 | 15m 46s | Botany Blast! | ♥ 1 | Ha yes the quiet and relaxing joy of gardening ... few neightboors and bugs injured in the process but it's all biological agriculture ! Managed to have every spot taken and few big plants focusing on them between waterings Very funny and smart take on the theme for a compo ! Shooting sound was a bit brutal in this calm but that's ok XD well done ! |
