| Apr 17 14:35:29 | ⌰⟒⏁⍜ (leto) | ♥ 1 | I was instantly drown to this game by the screenshots and the enigmatic title when my teammate showed it to me. I like the graphic design. There's isn't much information on the screen yet the necessary information is here. I particularly like that the error feedback is located where I failed. This helped me recalibrate when I was failing the rhythm. Which leads me to what I didn't as much enjoy in the game. I found the rhythm sometimes hard to get and the fact that sometimes I had to do it twice to unlock the next step made it a bit frustrating (also there was some kind of input lag, but that may be the fault of my computer ?). I found the sound to become quickly annoying. Altough I like bells alright - and found it enjoyable for them to ring when I was right - the fact that every level has a different rhythm quickly turned into kind of a cacophony and made it hard for me to focus on the current level. All in all it's still an interesting idea and I'm sorry I couldn't get to the end of the game. | |
| Apr 17 15:49:10 | 1h 13m | Deckmancer | ♥ 1 | The art was nice and the gameplay was fun ! Good job ! Altough I wish I better understood what did some cards. Some kind of turrets seemed to change shape when they were hit ? Some small feedback side notes: Took more time than I would like to admit to understant that ennemies dropped some kind of currencies and that I could recover it by hovering the mouse. Once an enemy is on you it's almost directly a game over. It would be nice if you could defend yourself a little bit to give more room for error. All in all, well done. |
| Apr 17 16:51:32 | 1h 02m | Chuck It Up The Mountain | ♥ 1 | Sorry I did not leave a rating. Since I gave up the game quite early, I wouldn't find it fair play to rate it without having played a little bit more of it. But I still thought leaving some comments might interest you so here it goes. First of all what I saw of the writing was funny and I liked how you managed to insert the tutorial into some funny dialogue lines. But what lead me to give the game was the difficulty that I found way too hard. I felt like I had little control over what was happening and so, seeing chuck miss the platform and fall to the bottom was too much for my weak heart. I hope Chuck will safely find his way up the mountain without my help, he seemed like a nice creature that was legit going to help with my wishes ! |
| Apr 19 17:36:48 | 48h 45m | Pent8cle | ♥ 1 | I love the simplicity of the design ! I also like the graphics and the audio. By the way, I never thought white noise could be a good background track for a game but you proved me wrong ! I did manage to got the level 11 but then give up because I was brute forcing the game rather than trying to solve the puzzle. Maybe 5 runes at once was a bit too much for me ? Also, I would have looved a retry button. It was kinda frustrating, having to place all the runes when I knew perfectly that I was never going to complete a level. All in all, great work, congrats ! |
| Apr 19 18:14:22 | 37m 34s | Path of Aratron | ♥ 1 | I'm always impressed by what you managed to cram in a pico8 cartdrigde ! I didn't know about lightbot but it made me think about zachtronics games. I like the concept of the game ! The puzzles were fun, the audio and the music were impressive too, congrats ! I stopped at level 9 because unfortunately this did remind me a bit too much of my programming daily job (it's also the reason I don't enjoy Zachtronics games as much lately :/). But it's really not the fault of the game which was a nice and really polished entry! The only thing that I would have loved is some kind of "clear all" button. Congratulations ! |
| Apr 24 22:20:33 | 124h 06m | That Time I Reincarnated Into /.../Trials By Summoning Demons With Unique Powers | ♥ 3 | This is such an interesting puzzle concept. I'm a bit ashamed I didn't managed/had the patience to go beyond level 2 though. I really like the idea of composing the demon required to solve the puzzle, the fact that adding the same traits gives it more strengh gives more depth to the system and it's interestin to the see the variety of combination one could make. I guess the controls and the platforming feeling could be fine tuned a little bit to improve the experience. As it is I found it quite tedious to redo almost 75% of the puzzle so you can try the end of the puzzle (yes I failed a lot of time to jump at the end of level 2). Maybe some kind of rewind would allow players to experience a little bit easily the capacity of the summoned demon without having to invoke a ton of them. (Is it just me or can you not destroy them. I played the web version and found the graphics and the character animations quite pretty. The audio was nice and moody too. All in all it's a great entry ! The problems I'm pointing to above seems to be something that could be easily fixed given more time and the rest of the design seems well thought out. Congratulations ! |
| Apr 24 22:31:17 | 10m 44s | Phoenix Delay | ♥ 0 | I'm quite fond of this kind of scoring game but found the flappy bird controls kinda got in the way. I would have prefered a more direct kind of control on the bird. Also at first the warning signs confused me a bit and I tried to avoid the others birds before discovering they were actually a nice boost. I did took me a while to get to the end and it's cool you had the time to make a dedicated animation and dialogue for it. The graphics and the audios are very nice and fit well together, good job ! |
| Apr 24 22:51:56 | 20m 39s | Necrogirl | ♥ 3 | Lost pretty fast the first time but then I just summonned a lot of units before attacking ennemies and it was much more fun ! I sometimes wish I could have more controls hover my units because in some case the would just go and get destroyed by themselves when I would have preferred they wait a little by my side until I have more units. I liked the graphics, it's all really nice and well animated although a minor issue was that I regularly lost track of which was my own character. The audio was nice overall but the music felt like it was somewhat disconnected with the general feeling of the game. Good job, it was fun to play ! |
