| Oct 3 08:08:09 | Hellevator | ♥ 3 | Haha another game called Hellevator, I think there are already like 20 games on itch that have that name ! I still love that pun though :) The combat is a bit wacky, but in a fun way ! I like how enemies are just thrown away when I hit them. However it is possible to spam the attack way faster than the animation allows, which makes the game a bit too easy, I could just bodyblock the enemies and destroy them right away. Otherwise, pretty cool pixel art and music ! | |
| Oct 3 08:22:35 | 14m 26s | Give Me BBQ | ♥ 4 | Pretty cool concept, and nice interpretation of the theme ! The whole game is a bit less fun than it could be, for a simple fact : orders deplete way too quickly. It seems like already with the first orders you have zero leeway to cook it on time, so it's really stressing right off the bat, and a bit discouraging as you know that it's already over if you don't have everything ready a few seconds after receiving the order. I think the challenge should come from the lack of space, not from the lack of time. I really like this idea but I never got to a point where space was an issue. That is really a bummer because everything in this game is cool, graphics, gameplay, global polish, but that balancing might tank the ratings quite a lot... |
| Oct 3 09:43:06 | 1h 20m | Debugged | ♥ 3 | I really like the idea of using the actual window size as a mechanic ! The gameplay itself has some problems, as aiming with the mouse on a tiny window is a bit hard, especially when you can't see the enemies because you are running away from them. I would have liked to see a mechanic that acts on the window size, like a powerup that allow you to see further for a short amount of time, it feels a bit under used at the moment. Anyway, really cool concept, it opens a huge design space that would be really fun to explore ! |
| Oct 3 10:03:45 | 20m 39s | disembARK | ♥ 4 | I love that concept, so funny ! I was a bit unsure about the rules though, I first expected to lose if I didn't manage to get less than two animals of the same type at the same time, but it seems to be the ship that slowly sinks. It's cool but I noticed that only at the end of my playthrough, maybe a bit of feedback would have been good. The gameplay itself is simple but works pretty well, I like how it's quite manageable for some time, but at the end the only strategy is to throw as many animals overboard as possible to survive. That was genuinely hilarious ! |
| Oct 4 09:13:46 | 23h 10m | Escape from the clutches | ♥ 2 | Cool artwork ! The gameplay is interesting, but I never got a win, I never managed to land the upgraded attacks. But it's really hard to know why because there is a lack of feedback on what I'm doing. I think that the effect of skills could be boosted by a lot to have more impact. I'd want to eat a big chunk of health when I slash, and completely cancel damage when I block. That way the timing for the use of skills would be way more important, currently I didn't see a real strategy as the amount of damage is almost constant, making the timing of the block unimportant, it felt like the best strategy was to play skills as soon as possible. |
| Oct 8 11:35:13 | 98h 21m | StarDust | ♥ 2 | This is not the first time I see this kind of mechanic in a jam, but the execution is pretty good ! the level is quite long, and I felt the difficulty was quite well balanced, I felt a bit lost at first, but quickly found the next step after a bit of searching. The only thing this game lacks I think is coyote time, the ability to jump for a fraction of second after starting to fall, it would make the platforming a bit smoother. |
| Oct 9 23:49:26 | 36h 14m | Limited Shadow | ♥ 0 | Cool little game, with interesting art ! I like especially the tutorial artwork ! That's ambitious to tackle 3D for a jam, and even though the controls are a bit wacky at times, it works pretty well ! I couldn't find the treasure though, it didn't highlight when I went close to it, but I won in spirit \o/ |
| Oct 10 09:26:59 | 9h 37m | Cold and Unforgiving | ♥ 1 | Cool game ! It catched my curiosity right away, and I like how you used the theme in a unique way ! I played two endings to see if the choices actually matter, but it seems all endings are the same ? Pretty intriguing anyway ! |
| Oct 10 22:50:02 | 13h 23m | PIO | ♥ 2 | This concept is pretty clever, I really like it ! It's kirby, but that grows when he eats something. It's interesting to use that as a mechanic that blocks your movement. The input was a bit confusing however. I kept trying to throw with space or suck with down, it was the main difficulty I encountered, which was a bit frustrating, but now that I think about it, I don't know what kind of keybind would be better. I suppose it would be more intuitive with a gamepad, using RT and LT to suck and blow. The level design was pretty cool, and used the mechanic pretty well in different ways, that was fun ! Well done ! |
| Oct 11 01:28:06 | 2h 38m | The Big Crunch | ♥ 3 | Cool graphics ! I like how you gave meaning to all of the minigames ! And cool touch to have a minigame that asks you to do nothing, I kept losing at that one because I can't read instructions properly... The graphics are pretty good, for the rest it's quite classical wario ware stuff, I don't have a lot to say about that, except that it's cool to use only 4 keys for minigame input, wario ware has a different way to interact for almost every minigame, but with keyboard controls it would be annoying to learn the keys for every minigame, so it's good to keep it simple. Good job ! |
