Apr 4 17:39:37 Isn't it a bit hotter than normal outside? ♥ 2 Neat idea, the balance is a bit off tho. Not sure if it's intended but with enough freezing cannons you can decrease the Sun to 0% and from this point it doesn't increase anymore. Besides that I don't think you should be able to reverse the expansion, only slow it down. Even if you did that the game is still solvable. Something that would help is add random events to disrupt the players plans, that would also increase replayability. Also I love the rocket animation with the stages, nice detail.
Apr 4 18:15:13 35m 36s That One Time I Woke Up and Saw Vines Outside My Window ♥ 1 Great character sprite, and Victory/GameOver/Menu art. I recognize that Game maker's physics isn't the best, especially as a beginner. Overall a solid entry for a second game. Keep at it, I can't wait to see more of this style
Apr 4 18:46:49 31m 36s Guardian Angel ♥ 2 Such is a simple idea has no right being this fun ! The variety from level to level really kept me engaged. And the jokes .. THE JOKES ! The Alarm clock and taxes hit too close to home for me. I used to play osu! so the age level was easy for me whereas the dishes one was really hard with its tight turns and random direction. I don't know if a ramping difficulty would be better, tho. Great job !
Apr 4 18:59:28 12m 39s Savior ♥ 0 This is great, the best graphics I have seen so far. The planet rotation is a bit disorienting, but I'm not sure how you could have done it better. No, the real problem is the rocket physics, like very often I would be clicking on a rocket but it would not register. At first I thought it was because the raycast was hitting the rocket's trail but it happened even when the rocket was facing the camera. Without that bug it would be very fun to try and get a highscore on this game.
Apr 4 20:25:16 1h 25m Claustrowordia ♥ 1 I almost made it to the english leaderboard, but I'm really not good at word games. But I learned some new words, even if you're not winning there is something to gain from playing. Not sure if it was intentional but it's a neat touch. I'm going to keep at it until I make it on the leaderboard ! The level of polish here is really impressive, everythin is animated and juicy. Letters snaps, combos are glorious, and almost everything on screen moves and makes sounds. I'm curious as to what proportion of your time was alocated to making it feel so great. Either way : time well spent. Some negative feedback if I must ? - The undo is a bit weird as I can only place the same letter I tried to place. Got me good when I accidentaly try to place a Z. I guess it's probably intentionnal from the way it works but can you tell us why ? - The twist screen is a bit underwhelming standing next to the rest of the game. It should also immediately interrupt the player input, cuz I was still dragging a tile when it appeared. Now on to the real question : What is the mascot name ? Because it has a lot of appeal and I want a plushy !
Apr 4 21:51:03 1h 25m Cold and Alone ♥ 4 The flavour in this game ! The art is gorgeous, the gameplay is really intuitive, the story is engaging and the jokes are hilarious ! After completing the upgrades I was lost as to what was left to do. Apprently not much. So I just let myself die by running out of batteries (56 Days). I played it again to the end to see if I did something wrong and I was pleasantly suprise to see the map had changed. Now I don't know if it's because I spawned somewhere else or it's procedural, but I didn't expect it from a jam game. The artwork is amazing but a bit too static. That gives it a retro aspect, but it could also be an improvement. Like I can't really "feel" anything that is happening. Needs more juice. Sounds could really help with that. Now how to fix this end game. I have a few ideas : - Make more content ... if you're down to make it I'm down to play it ! - Make the batteries more scarce either by spawning less of it or by using more of it for heating/upgrades - Make it so that batteries need to be crafted from other resources that you need to forage for, that way Either way if make it into a full game i would play it. You have all the ingredients to make something amazing here. Great job !

Apr 4 22:57:33 50m 37s The Adventure of a Lifetime ♥ 1 Oh my God ! This is so cute, and so refreshing ! What can I say ? The art is on point, it goes perfectly with the mood of the game. It's flavourful and dynamic. And I want more of it. The menu screen, the fox, the dino jumping anticipation. Hmmmmouah. Also the text is a really nice touch. The music changes and goes along with the story. It really helps selling the story beats. The cardiogram really got me. I was smiling and tearing up. It's basically 3 games, but with simple mechanics, all there to support a story and a mood. I'm keeping this one in my bag for bad days. Thank you for making this <3
Apr 4 23:09:45 12m 12s Kessler ♥ 1 The lighting tho ! The shadows from explosions really impressed. Simple idea executed beautifully.
Apr 5 20:09:58 21h 00m Witchcraft ♥ 2 The art is cool, the spells have a nice progression to them. But enemies could be more interesting, they all feel the same. Except maybe the big slime that multiplies on death.
Apr 5 20:47:23 37m 25s Yarr me shippey ♥ 1 Interesting idea, I kinda want to know where it would go. Sadly I don't see the theme really. Once thing that definitely help understand what is happening is the shell with the logs, I wouldn't have thought to include it. The art is a plus !
Apr 6 15:34:59 18h 47m The Final Day ♥ 3 I finally got it, took me about an hour but I manage to finish it. I had to try a few times. Tried with every start possible and died every time, but I learned. My final strat was to start with defense 10 and go armor at the beginning. This made it very hard for enemies to hit me. I would grind the forest a bunch (which took a while, but since combat rounds don't count towards day time, it doesn't matter too much). I would level up defense first (I'm still at 10 HP, I'm squishy) then get the armor and finally weapons. After a while monster couldn't hit me even with their best rolls. From then on I spammed the ruins and was getting so much money I could level up anything. I didn't know what to expect for the angel so I grinded myself out of a challenge. Here are my final stats (DEF is 300) : chrome_CmatqZ8vhT.png About the game overall : I had a lot of fun. It felt a lot like D&D (in a good way) with attack rolls and armor class. Art is simple but has some nice enemy designs. Wouldn't mind putting them into my jam entry TBH ;) Menus work and are simple to navigate. Had a bit of a problem in WebGL because ya can't press Escape xD. Music and sounds are functionnal but on point. The fact that you added a boss music was a great touch. The combat system felt good to play, understand and to theorize. The random aspect from O HP enemies and sporadic coin rewards was fun because you never knew what to expect around the corner : a O HP Galaxy frog that gave you 1000+ coins, or a big unkillable dragon that can one shot you if you try to run. But ultimately it kills any sort of balance you can do upstream. The programming looks simple like this, but I know how complex it probably is underneath. In the end I am really grateful you drop a comment on my game so that I could see yours. It does feel similar in the RPG (go back to town, grind) aspect but very different in execution. Amazing job !
Apr 6 17:43:44 2h 08m Nightwaker ♥ 4 Very nice interpretation of the theme. I love typing games, so I was pleasantly suprised. The keyboard being used to keep your eyes open + move aournd + type to interact. I didn't think it would work so well, but it does. Like you have to quickly switch between these mode of operations, and type fast if you don't want to loose. The Forest level bugged quite a bit for me : - I fell through the statue into the hole (closing your eyes reset the level fortunately) - got respawned further into the level - I would die randomly to nothing at the beginning sometimes, as I did next to the mail in the underground Besides that I have to ask : Isn't the parallax inverted ? Some of it makes sense, some of it doesn't. Or is it just me ? Otherwise a really cool execution. I would play a version of this with more content !
