| Aug 15 17:12:36 | Baby Boom Balance | ♥ 2 | Overall: The game is almost complete, but it bothers me a bit not being able to start it again, there is no title screen in the game, a menu or a pause. Despite that, the gameplay and mechanics are practically there, and it is quite intuitive despite not having a tutorial in game. The researches seem to be always in progress and never go from there unless the player buys another one and I could not see what they did once I had them in my possession. The game is kind of repetitive, the space where farms and parks are put could be changed a little every new game to make it less recurrent. It is also not very clear how to win or lose, but I have managed to reach both scenarios. Fun: While I had fun playing it, it was not a big deal, I just felt like playing one old game from the internet, I just was distributing resources. Innovation: I just saw a resource distribution game, I did not feel that space was something that really mattered in the game. Theme: As I said in innovation, you do not feel the theme ‘running out of space’ involved in the game although it is a city and space and resources are managed, it does not feel like space plays an important role as the city gets smaller. Graphics: I loved everything looks very good, it is a pity that because of the distance from the camera the player is not able to fully appreciate the art, fortunately you guys took some screenshots you guys or it would not have been the same. Having said that, the art of the game feels different than the than the one in the UI. Audio: For it to be a single song, it does what it has to do, it also feels good and does not feel repetitive, too bad the time didn’t help in being able to have a wider repertoire. Humor: Something else causes grace, such as the fact that the most expensive game is contraceptive methods and that evolving it makes a more civilized society, but it is not something that produces much laughter (at least for me). Mood: Above all, music combined with art and play simply feels good, it is relaxing even when the game it is accelerated at its maximum, everything seems to fall in sync with the rest, it is a pity that you could not done it completely. Without adding more, it is great that you guys have completed all this in just 72 hours and being just 2 people. Keep this up, for the next game try to make a more specific scope study so that you know that you can really complete the game in the given time. I hope to see you guys in the future. | |
| Aug 15 20:21:52 | 3h 09m | Eye to Eye | ♥ 1 | The game looks and feels complete, you can win, you can lose, it restarts quickly, and each game session is short so the level of frustration at losing is greatly reduced. In addition to this, it is quite entertaining that it is for two players, playing with someone else always increases the fun. Unfortunately I do not see much that can be said is new in here, Worms is a game with something similar and increases the tension in the same way once a certain number of turns have passed, being said, the level on this game is developed vertically, so it differs in that and the fact that I must move to survive, but I would like to be able to choose weapons, not have to "change" character to use the weapon I want, maybe you could have expanded the idea a little bit more and have guns that shoot things that are left in the space, this way it would be more reduced not just by the acid. The art looks wonderful, but I feel that maybe you could have done more, the music is even better, but I would also have wanted to hear something more. Finally, everything seems to fit within the game (with the exception perhaps of the sprites of the explosions) so it feels pretty good. One last thing, the pit that is in the middle, should do something about it, I fell about 100 times and I got killed each time of them, a random level generator would not go wrong with the game to expand it a bit more in this short amount of time. Great job on finishing the game! not everyone can do that, you guys should feel proud. |
| Aug 16 02:21:50 | 5h 59m | PhantomMARE | ♥ 1 | It is not complete, but you can play it, so it's good enough for your first game jam, there is a game similar to what you are trying to accomplish here, is called poltergeist by glitchy pixel, give it a look, with the exception that in yours the player loses when the house is "full", but it really does not feel as if the space had any strong influence on the game, but anyways, well done on overcoming this challenge and I hope to see more of you guys again in the future! Keep working! |
| Aug 16 05:24:00 | 3h 02m | Clippy's Awakening | ♥ 2 | The game is really entertaining, a simple adventure, is amazing what you guys achieved in such a short time! The music is beautiful, the graphics, although simple is what makes it so special, I like how works with nostalgia, the controls were a bit uncomfortable for me, maybe changing to E or R for the time/shield power, that one felt especially uncomfortable(but that’s just me), everything feels good, I especially loved the small details such as how the pause comes out of the Start or that you can change the music volume at any time with the mouse. Despite the good game and finally, I would have loved to see more of the theme space from you guys, not just use it as a life bar. Keep up the good work and congrats on your game. |
| Aug 16 21:59:09 | 16h 35m | NO MORE ROOM IN HELL | ♥ 1 | Excellent game, I like that it has a lot of juice and that the space is really reduced once the enemies are eliminated, the music is also heard very well, the ghosts give a touch of relaxation by not leaving puddles of acid. Many times I did not see the projectiles that the demons shot at me, maybe because they were the same color as the acid, I also felt a little unfair that the big ghost did not give me many points (I expected about 5 or something) I like how the game ends, but I feel that the puddles might disappear after some time or have some way of making them disappear in someway to free some space. The work is excellent, it's amazing that it was just a person, well done! |
| Aug 16 22:16:20 | 17m 11s | Escape Alienation | ♥ 1 | The game is fun, and one could say is complete, the mechanics seems great, although a bit accelerated, the shot also seems a little loose and unfair, the music is great for the game, takes you to a space place immediately, the art also looks good, nothing very detailed, but nothing very simple either. The particles when enemies are destroyed add a lot of detail to the game, it makes it feels better. I think the space could open a little more when the player hit the aliens, and, once again, shooting is difficult in this game, maybe if you shoot in the direction of the mouse it would be better, or if you could at least shoot vertically, the walls seem to kill without you touching them and the movement feels a bit too rough. The details look beautiful, the score, the intro, the little message below that says ludum dare 42, this just feels like add some awareness that this was made with love. Above all it seems like it can be a better game if you give more space to the mechanics to grow, good work and congratulations for taking something like this by yourself. |
| Aug 17 01:19:42 | 3h 03m | Stacy The Muscle | ♥ 2 | the game is fun! once you understand the mechanics of freezing the dead bodies, although I spent a lot of time trapped between frozen bodies, the life bar of Stacy, actually looked like the life bar of a Boss or something, I was hoping to find something but ended up seeing nothing, at least until I started to drown (Mostly used the R button). The music is wonderful, it feels good and the art looks very nice, maybe add something that gives more energy to the game, different enemies or powerups, although the fungus and octopus looked different they really did the same. I also liked that killing enemies was not boring, you always heard a different sound and that made it more enjoyable, above all congratulations, the game is quite fun. |
| Aug 17 04:55:33 | 3h 35m | Light Towers [WEB] | ♥ 1 | It's a pity that you could not add any music or sfx, look up for Bosca Ceoil, it's a very simple tool to use and good enough for oneself not to complain. I liked the gameplay, it can be a game of just a few minutes or last a long time, the difficulty curve increases quite well, it did not feel unfair at any time and after a while the controls are easily learned. The art is quite simple, so it is easy to understand what you must do, and you do not have any kind of confusion with the UI or anything like that. If I could add something, it would be a little more substance to the game, maybe some particles will come out when the cube fits in the square of the same color of them. Congratulations for completing (mostly) the game! Incredible what a person can do in just 48. I hope to see the game more polished, it is a good game. |
| Aug 17 15:35:07 | 10h 39m | Deep Heat | ♥ 1 | Very good game! Everything is excellent, from music to art, the progress of objects and money is great. The music attracts and does not feel repetitive, there are also different music and sfx for the menus and the game, when firing, when dying, when killing enemies, very well done seriously. The art looks complete and finished, it seems that nothing was made in a rush or anything (although internally you may have had to cut something from the scope). This is supremely polished, it shows the effort put into the game, things that I felt somewhat unfair, burn myself with the firewalk and maybe the need of some power up to walk over the flames or something, I really thought that the boots were going to help me with that. Anyway, the game is beautiful, is one of the most complete I have seen in this ldjam, congratulations! |
