| Aug 14 21:17:04 | Tesla Siblings | ♥ 1 | The wiring mechanic is a very fun twist on Tetris-like games! I especially liked how the blue balls changed properties after being put together, so you could make little platforms without worrying about gravity. It's great to see another game with the NES palette and resolution, especially when it fits the rest of the game so well. The sprites are well-made, and the background is nice. The little character in the top right during gameplay is a fun addition, too. Maybe the links besides blue could give a small boost to the timer? I noticed that finishing a level already gives more time, but it felt odd not getting any bonus for making links. Overall, good job! It's a unique take on an old classic, and I enjoyed it. | |
| Aug 14 21:30:09 | 13m 05s | Circlebots Share | ♥ 1 | Great game, and great use of the theme! The game is complex and difficult, while still being very simple to control (a fantastic combination)! The graphics are very simplistic, but work just fine. It's obvious that more time was spent improving the mechanics of the game over it's looks, and that clearly paid off. |
| Aug 14 21:50:22 | 20m 13s | Trials of the Vapor Lattice | ♥ 0 | The graphics and audio fit perfectly together to give the game a fantastic, interesting mood. I'm curious to how the it might look if it had VR support, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about that sort of thing to even know if it would work. I liked the combat's aiming mechanics, but it would've been better with more well developed combat. If I had to sum up my experience in one word, it would be woah! |
| Aug 14 23:36:53 | 1h 46m | Don't run out of Power | ♥ 1 | The start of the game is confusing, but after a few more tries I was able to understand how to play. The hectic multi-tasking gameplay works very well with the jam's theme, and I liked it quite a bit. Adding an easy way to see how much power each action uses (like a little "-10" or something popping up above what's taking power) could make the game a bit easier to play. Great work! |
| Aug 14 23:48:45 | 11m 52s | Escape Velocity | ♥ 1 | The player character is floatier than I'd like him to be, but it's still playable. The gameplay itself is fun and interesting, and I love the way the ship moves, both when it crashes and when it's powered. Visually the game is fantastic, although it would've been a little bit better with more animation on the character, and some more graphics in the sky (clouds, stars, etc). Great game! |
| Aug 15 21:22:03 | 21h 33m | Survival Adventures | ♥ 1 | Good idea, and execution too, but the cooked fish didn't leave my inventory after I ate it, so I basically had infinite food. |
| Aug 21 19:52:58 | 142h 30m | Micro Mayhem | ♥ 0 | 4th place! As others have said, the controls were very slippery (but I eventually got used to it). The camera sometimes went into weird angles so you couldn't see the road ahead of you, especially when going uphill. I loved how silly the physics could get sometimes, at one point a CPU managed to get on top of my car, and I kept on driving ahead with a car on my back. If you added a multiplayer mode, even split-screen, I'm certain this would be fun with friends. If you made a post-compo version with multiplayer and more content, I'd love to play it. Great job! |
