| Apr 21 23:27:00 | Heavy Water | Getting a 404 error over here too. Please fix when you can, would love to try your game out! | |
| Apr 22 05:09:00 | 5h 42m | I just want a taco | Very fun game! I just had to play until I finally got the taco, haha.

I feel like the taco salesman sometimes doesn't open the shop even when you are in the right form, like he saw through your reptile monster disguise... Wouldn't expect any less from a person with such eye for business, though! |
| Apr 22 05:23:00 | 14m 00s | Flumber | Good job for a solo project! I like green and the game is fun. The only issue was the fact I paying attention to the shapes on the pillar and not the background, so it was confusing to keep getting wrong shapes. Also, is Flumber possibly a homage to Flubber, what with changing shapes and being green and all?

Also, I'm not sure if a lot of people still have the Unity Webplayer installed. I feel like a WebGL build, despite its significantly rough edges, is probably the more universal route to take, if you want more people being able to play the game! Just my two cents. |
| Apr 22 05:53:00 | 30m 00s | Dave from Bungie | Very clever twist on the theme! Game is also quite out of the norm, even within the visual novel genre. I just wish it was a bit less linear.

On the other hand, dealing with all that text must have been a pain to set up using Unity Canvases. XD |
| Apr 22 06:34:00 | 41m 00s | BIT SHIFT | I rather like the sprites you made! But like was already suggested, you really should consider pushing the camera back to let the player see more of the world at once, otherwise it's just too hard to guess where the virus is and you have no time to dodge. The game is good though!

Also, you can leave the .pdb files generated by Unity out of the zipped download, since they're pretty large and not important for the player. |
| Apr 22 06:51:00 | 17m 00s | Fast Dungeon | I really the like the level progression dynamic with each death, it makes death less frustrating. The game is great, though the controls could be better, and the floating eyeballs hit way too hard! Would have liked some more shapeshifting other than the boss, too.

Have to say though, the art is phenomenal, specially for a single artist's job. The two did well, but I have to give Mr. Alfonso Elola my regards for his backgrounds, platforms and animated sprites, all within 72 hours.

I think you guys should keep working on the game after the jam, add a lot more stages and enemies, and finish it! |
| Apr 23 06:44:00 | 23h 53m | Evolution | Had to use the soundless version too, the link to the version with sound seems to be wrong. The game concept is interesting! It's fun to try all options to see what you end up becoming, though I wish there were more choices.

But honestly, some of the results don't really seem like much of an evolution from amoeba. :P |
| Apr 23 06:59:00 | 15m 00s | Sheepshifter | From a gameplay standpoint, this game is impressive. I'll admit I had no idea what to do in the beginning, but once I figured it out, the game was fun. But the gameplay modifiers add a lot of depth to the game, making it enjoyable for a good number of rounds.

The art is also very solid, with good attention to detail and to the UI, and the music is good too. 5 people in the team gives you a lot of hands to help, but it can also be a curse if you aren't organized. In this case, it's clear to me that the team worked together closely to make the whole game come together well. |
| Apr 23 07:32:00 | 33m 00s | Those Aren't Stars | Like others have already said, there are some issues with sticking to walls/platforms, really loud sfx, moving platforms that you don't know even exist, and resetting HP bars in the boss fight. These are definitely things you should look into fixing, so you can release a post-compo version that's pretty fun.

All that said though, there are several stages in the game and even a boss fight mixed in, which is quite impressive for a compo submission! Graphics and audio are nice too. I became curious about the possible story though, like who Bree is, why a statue transformation, why the firework-shooting enemies are trying to kill you, and who is the boss. Consider an expanded version in the future with story, more polish and more levels, and you've got a great thing here. |
| Apr 23 07:39:00 | 7m 00s | Rock scissors paper | The concept is quite creative! It has its share of bugs like others have commented, but it was fun to play and easy to understand! Would have liked if you didn't collide with the same type as you (to avoid cornering), and if the starting positions were randomized too. |
| Apr 23 07:53:00 | 14m 00s | The polyman | I kept getting stuck to platforms or in the tunnel at the beginning, is that normal? Otherwise, the game can become a solid platformer with some adjustments, like increasing the time limit (I have a hard time thinking you can beat the game in just 90 seconds!). Also, is it just me or the transformation sound is familiar?

Good job on your second entry though! Your art is already better than my programmer art (which is why I'm very thankful for my brother's art XD), and there's no other way to improve than keep making games. Rock on! |
| Apr 23 21:31:00 | 13h 38m | Enkid | Great game, guys! It's fun and the character art in particular is great. I would like to see an expanded version with more enemies and obstacles to overcome, especially for the 1st form (not a lot of challenges you can make for a character that can't jump, but there's still place to get creative I think).

Rock on! |
| Apr 23 22:12:00 | 41m 00s | Mimic | Yeah, the original version is definitely way too hard for me (which makes me depressed, since I'm a platforming nut and I enjoy unforgiving games like the SMT series)! And the resolution issue on my 720p screen makes it hard to select buttons too.

Other than that, this is definitely one of the strongest entries I've played so far in the jam. The mechanics are solid, graphics are cute, and the soundtrack is amazing. The take on the theme was clever too (Go mimic octopi!). I'm humbled by your time management skills to make this game on your own!

Definitely looking forward to your future work. |
| May 5 08:06:00 | 273h 54m | Wolf -> Man | Controls are definitely buggy, like the already mentioned random diagonal movement issue. I also noticed that the werewolf form's 2-range attack doesn't really work as intended, and the form also lacks the ability to kill enemies by moving through them. Meaning, the werefolk stages were a chore, and the man stages were simple due to being more reliable and letting you abuse the enemy's simple AI. XD

Not exactly a new type of game but the werewolf form idea was quite cool. Also impressive that it's a compo submission, so it was made by just one person. Great job on finishing! |
| May 5 08:32:00 | 26m 00s | Geometer's Folly | Postjam version is pretty cool. The enemies attacking make it feel more like a real game (would be nice to have more than one type of attack coming your way though), but they also highlight a key issue: while drawing shapes for spells is fun, it's really hard to do while you're getting attacked, meaning you basically have to spam the easier spells like firestorm or the blast one (which is impossible to aim XD). Some games with similar ideas tend to stop time while you're drawing, and now I can sort of understand why.

All in all though, the game is fun and the idea is fresh. I could definitely see a whole RPG game centered on this mechanic. The drawing became a little buggy when you draw near the edges of the screen though, as well as when you move. Still, the drawing algorithm is very good, and I really like how it can affect the spell power in case the drawing was lacking. Awesome job! |
| May 5 08:45:00 | 13m 00s | Shape Escape | Fun game and good use of the theme! I think the floor moves really slowly at the beginning and too fast later on, so it goes from "This is easy" to "Is this Dark Souls 3!?" in a matter of seconds. I'd suggest changing the speed increase rate like dvdagames suggested, trying to maximize the time spent playing the game while it's not too easy or too difficult. It'll require some careful balancing, but I assure you it's worth it!

I also like the graphics. This is a solid entry for a first time LDer, so welcome aboard and hope you'll keep participating! Finishing a game is no small feat, so you should be proud of what you made! |
| May 5 09:02:00 | 17m 00s | No Hope In Hell | Aside from unresponsive controls, odd sliding camera (is the character the parent of the camera? I'd suggest the camera to follow the character instead) and the tense-but-a-bit-annoying BGM, you guys did a great job! Really, almost every Ludum Dare game has bugs and/or unfinished content, the important part is the thrill of it (which you seem to have felt) and what you could finish in time. I hope you'll keep participating in Ludum Dare because it's very fun.

Too bad there was no relation to the theme in this version, but I like the atmosphere in the game a lot, and would like to see more of it! The current version is fun, if a little too hard. XD You guys weren't joking when you said "No Hope In Hell"! |
| May 7 23:01:00 | 61h 59m | Shifty Witch | I really liked the graphics, they really have that child-like charm. It was interesting how the shapeshifting ability lets you move faster than your incredibly slow witch form, but I agree with some others that making the shapeshifting necessary against a specific type of enemy would better balance the two forms.

I noticed the frame rate was below 20fps for me (I'm using Firefox), and got taken by surprise how I suddenly died out of nowhere with only 10 enemies remaining (maybe an enemy spawned exactly where I was?). Still, great job with the game, since compo submissions are definitely not easy (I always participate in jam because I can't art). Hope to see a full-fledged shmup from you someday! |
| May 8 00:40:00 | 1h 39m | Steam Drive | Some audio would make it more interesting, but I think my main suggestion would be for you to give the player something to do. It just feels like you run forever and there isn't a way to know if you've broken your previous highscore, or even a score to achieve.

The game idea is wacky and fun, though. The train form was more limited and harder to steer, so I just dodged the flying whales as a zeppelin (never thought I would say that line XD)! |
| May 8 01:15:00 | 35m 00s | Reform | Awesome job! Definitely one of the best entries in LD35 I've played. The ending is nice, and art and animation are very well done, and the gameplay and level design are great (could have used some more time before the blocks disappeared, and the controls of the bird-like form were a bit iffy, but these are only nitpicking).

Really liked the music choice too. I didn't know F0R3ST12 before, but I'll definitely listen to more of his work. |
| May 8 01:28:00 | 13m 00s | Watch What You Shoot | The game is pretty fun! It gets really wacky when lots of enemies spawn in the same room, but it's part of the charm. XD I also like the shapeshifting idea. The only thing that bothers me is how the gun seems to shoot to the right even when you are not facing right, and this happens all too often. Makes it almost impossible to face a bullet swarm when you can't hit anyone reliably, not even the stuff you can transform into!

My best score was only 36. |
| May 8 01:45:00 | 17m 00s | Corvid | Very smooth controls and camera work, and engrossing and satisfying gameplay. I really like it! Graphics were simple but well done too, loved the details and the animation. But it really, really lacks something that hints at progression, such as upgrade shops or leveling up, to make you feel like you're going somewhere by surviving longer. Still, excellent job!

As a side note, the WebGL build is very heavy. Surprisingly heavier than the one on our game glEscape(), which was already heavy in my book. I'd advise checking if you really need it to be so big or to allocate so much memory! |
| May 8 01:55:00 | 10m 00s | Shifting Stronghold | Graphics are quite nice and the controls are okay, but it would have really helped if there was any information whatsoever about what to do. XD I figured out how to reach the goal and win, but it didn't feel very rewarding because I just kept trying randomly until I got there! And the game could use another stage, since it's a bit short.

Good work, though. Hopefully you'll keep participating in LD and making even better games! |
