Apr 29 03:55:00 [Work in Progress] Interesting game.Liked the general atmosphere of the game though it is a little disorienting. The puzzles felt intuitive and weren't too hard to figure out, the problem was the actual solving. Physics games always seem to have the problem of things not working how you want them. I managed to get past the pool but when faced with that wall I kind of gave up. Couldn't get things to stack right. It might have helped a little if you had a wider PoV. Though I'm used to Quake Pro in Minecraft so it might just be me.

-AlucardX60
Apr 29 05:11:00 1h 16m Water Hazard Somehow even clunkier then the classic tank controls, like how he leans to his left if you sprint while holding down W. Regardless you captured the campiness of games like Resident Evil quit well. I shall patiently await the disc 2 fix.

~AlucardX60
Apr 29 05:36:00 25m 00s Digging up Daisy Very nice artwork as usual Cake. Not as much story as say your LD25 entry. But overall it's a solid game.

~AlucardX60
Apr 29 07:13:00 1h 37m Rosa Neurosa The gameplay itself I found a bit lacking. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be other than maybe dig dug. However the art quality and story writing mechanic make this a formidable entry. Also an interesting use of the theme.

~AlucardX60
Apr 29 08:44:00 1h 31m UNDERQUEST Nice game, great art style. The controls feel pretty tight and the levels are just the right difficulty. I really wish it was longer. The respawn rate of the character is too fast though, by the time I realize I'm back I've already moved 2 blocks away. Also it's a shame you never got music into the game, it really needed it. (I know you posted some tracks but I opted to play it as was presented)

I'd like to see this continued honestly.

~AlucardX60
Apr 29 08:52:00 8m 00s Defy Hades Why are all the good LD games so short? Just as you give us a level that puts all the powers to good use it's over. Well guess that means I'll just have to wait to see if you continue it.

~AlucardX60
Apr 29 23:10:00 14h 18m Surface Tension Relaxing and addictive is a funny combination but it works well here. I only got a higbscore of 156 but with a perfect x3 combo I feel pretty good about the score. I'll be sure to work on it though.

~AlucardX60
Apr 30 05:02:00 5h 52m Jetpack Caverns I'm actually not sure how to comment on this without sounding like a hyperactive child so here it is.

OMG that was amazing my entire childhood relived in 5 minutes thank you very much kind sir!

~AlucardX60
Apr 30 06:31:00 1h 29m Deep South Motel Nice game with a fitting atmosphere. After a few playthroughs I found that 4 rooms with 3 staff and 3 laundry rooms happened to get me 1500+ and is actually very manageable?

~AlucardX60
Apr 30 06:47:00 16m 00s Come Home Well don't get me wrong I liked this game but it was really lacking. There is no agency here, you just go right. At least in other art games, like Loneliness, there is agency. It could have potential though, of being something along the lines of To the Moon, if expanded upon and giving the player choices, or at least the illusion of choices.

~AlucardX60
Apr 30 07:32:00 45m 00s StrataGEM It's like the Rubiks Cube and Tetris had a baby that decided to be a body builder. I had fun with it even though I'm not good at puzzles. There was enough space for me to just look around for an easy looking solve and grab it. The strategy only netted my 725 pts though. But I couldn't get frustrated with that music playing.

~AlucardX60
May 1 03:58:00 20h 26m The Valley Rule The amazing execution and polish on this game has me bewildered. Wall climbing and double jumping are some of my favorite mechanics from the retro era and you put them to good use. Unfortunately I got stuck on what I assume to be the third power up's room. Can wall climb my way up that overhang.

~AlucardX60
May 1 04:40:00 42m 00s The Pond I have to agree with Jonochrome. The hit boxes could use some tightening and the obstacles could be made more clear. Also the tentacles should only move forward when you are hit. But these are all things that shouldn't be too hard to fix so good job. Really liked the art though.

~AlucardX60
May 1 05:22:00 42m 00s Box Simulator I box, I box, and I box again. And that was just with a single box. Truly some of the most fun I've had this LD.

~AlucardX60
May 1 06:49:00 1h 27m Mine Upgrade Nice graphics and pretty addictive. After I got all the upgrades (including the bomb), 200 of all the equipment and $1M I sold everything and closed shop. In the end I had $2.7M.
What this game needed though was price scaling with the number of equipment. E.g. more miners, higher cost per miner. Otherwise after you hit 15+ money per second you can just spam the buy button.

~AlucardX60
May 3 04:01:00 45h 12m Substratum Pretty good, a little weird. Not much going for it in terms of aesthetics, but I guess that's where the term "programmer art" comes from, right?
The concept is pretty cool too.
May 3 04:09:00 8m 00s Focus Shift This is really good, especially for your first time.
The gameplay is challenging, but not too challenging. I like it.
May 3 17:06:00 12h 57m Escape the Caves Arrow tells me to go down and I fall down a pit anyways. what.
May 5 03:31:00 34h 25m Drill Arena Surprisingly more fun then a thought it would be, but but for a weird reason. It a lot harder than it really should be but after playing for a bit I was able to scrap some strategies together and rack up 17 kills. It reminds me of some of our recent games where we didn't have enough time to polish it up so it's playable but really unevenly built.

~AlucardX60
May 6 00:23:00 20h 52m The Mine https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55433941/downloads/OtherPeoplesStuff/TheMine-linux.tar.gz
Created a Linux distributable. chmod'ed and everything.
May 7 03:49:00 27h 26m Spunk Spelunk Neat little game, wish you could move up/down while swinging and the controls were more intuitive. Maybe a rapid fire feature would've helped so I didn't have to mash the awkward left/right arrow. But a rebind might do just as well.

~AlucardX60
May 7 04:07:00 18m 00s AHH LAVA! Nice, I love the feel of this game. Blowing things up feel satisfying with the screen shake, and the sound effects, the graphics are fairly consistent. If you want to get through though I found that you have to pretty much abandon bauble hunting making for your end score to be about at random as the levels themselves. Managed 18 though.

~AlucardX60
May 7 05:05:00 58m 00s Running Blind Takes a little getting used too and once you do it feels a little repetitive tbh. jump, jump, flash. The rocks are a little annoying to spot as well. Getting rid of ghost though was a rewarding experience and I wish it had more things like that.

~AlucardX60
May 7 05:20:00 15m 00s Cave Ghost The thing that went right with this game is that it's very easy to get 6 or 7 consistently which makes you want to play another round because you're so close the the needed 10 scrap. However some time the ghost gang up on you and it can be hard to escape because the character's hitbox is so tall it's hard to fit into horizontal corridors.

~AlucardX60
May 9 06:27:00 49h 07m ScubaBear This is amazing for a 72 hour game. I do have a few nitpicks like the effects of items could be more apparent, place the light bulb in a barely dark area for example. I liked the game references though and I think this game has enough polish that I'd pay for it even in it's current state.

~AlucardX60
May 9 07:30:00 1h 03m vers la lumiere Nice and solid game. The minamalist art style makes things very readable. I was afraid that the weird depth perception would make jumps hard but they were surprisingly easy. Everything in the game works well but there isn't much there. Also, this is nit pick, it might just be because I've been playing Super Meat Boy but the continue screen got pretty annoying. I'd prefer it if you just respawned immediately.

~AlucardX60
May 9 07:50:00 20m 00s Deep Calls To Deep Great atmospher created by the music and art, I like the interpretation of the theme. Aside from the random generation flaws I also find it odd to die whenever you hit a flat wall and I think that, due to the several flaws, the game should be shorter. At least the LD version.

~AlucardX60
May 9 08:27:00 37m 00s Mermurder! I liked the graphics and distraction mechanic of the top of the map but the depths were extremely lacking, graphically and mechanically. The controls were pulling me in directions I didn't want to go which got tricky around the angler fish and it got pretty claustrophobic in places. Overall though it's fairly solid.

~AlucardX60
May 9 08:50:00 23m 00s Darkness Looms Really nice mood going on here. I haven't tried it yet but it's interesting to see a level designer too. I felt like the game was punishing though, taking a wrong turn was practically a death sentence and it was really hard to read the player. I understand that darkness is a hard mechanic to work with though and I admire your attempt, but I think the mechanic needs to be either heavily refined or rethought altogether.

~AlucardX60
May 12 21:33:00 84h 43m In the Black Nice I liked the mood you set with the white on black, the old west style font, and banjo. The gameplay seems well balanced, I got $9,200+ my first play through which was so close I needed to play again, which is something I like to see but after that it's way too easy.

~AlucardX60
