| Apr 28 03:07:00 | Fist of Truth | When I tried to run, it said I needed two .dll files, and when I downloaded the required .dll files, it wouldn't load, giving an error that said "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application. If it helps, I'm on a Windows 7 x64 PC. Its a shame, I was looking forward to playing it... | |
| Apr 28 03:13:00 | 6m 00s | Uncle Jack's Knick Knack Shack | Fairly solid game. The controls are a bit hard to get used to, but it can get pretty addictive. You should probably experiment with porting this game to Android if you plan on continuing it... |
| Apr 29 02:46:00 | 23h 33m | Nesty Fall | A pretty nice metroidvania styled game, but the character moves MUCH TOO SLOW. It was kind of cool to see the character change as you got powerups, and I really think it would have been cool if you could keep playing after you got the wings, it would be cool to see what secrets are possible to find with them, but I understand that you probably couldn't due to time constraints... |
| Apr 29 02:52:00 | 6m 00s | Diggin' Dodge | Pretty fun game, the digging mechanic reminds me of the dirt from Super Mario Bros 2. I don't like how there's no way to defend yourself though (and the saws take a bit too much health IMHO). |
| Apr 29 03:04:00 | 12m 00s | NanoMed | It was fun to control the syringe, but the pathogens would tend to always pin me against the wall, resulting in a lot of frustrating deaths. You also might want to make it more clear that you can restart the game with enter. |
| Apr 29 03:17:00 | 13m 00s | Guidance | While puzzle games aren't really my type of game, I can tell that for people that enjoy them, its a fun game. Though you really should have an in-game tutorial, I had no clue what I was supposed to do at first. The graphics are kind of lacking, but not to the point where the game is a pain to look at. |
| Apr 29 12:58:00 | 9h 41m | A Bank Heist on Christmas | Well, I don't really have a better way to describe what I just played besides "It reminds me a lot of Earthbound". Nice job BTW. |
| Apr 29 13:21:00 | 23m 00s | Mobius | It has potential, but IMHO it's really too buggy to be too much fun, sorry. I glitched through random platforms, the red platforms have no collision at all (unless that's intended), and using the warps is irritating. |
| Apr 29 13:46:00 | 25m 00s | Beneath the surface | This game reminds me a lot of Super Meat Boy, and its surprisingly polished for 72 hours. However, the game did glitch out once, and I was unable to jump. |
| Apr 29 14:37:00 | 51m 00s | Symbiosis | The whole stats being decided by an intro quiz was pretty cool, but the game was easily broken by spamming the lightning ability, though I'm not sure whether or not this was due to some hidden stat. |
| Apr 29 14:48:00 | 11m 00s | Monster Caves | Eh, its more or less just a typical dungeon crawler, with no real specific twist or usage of the theme. It was fun, but bland and forgettable. |
| Apr 29 14:55:00 | 7m 00s | Scuba Sam | To be honest, it was quite annoying that in later levels, you have to run around without even knowing where the goal is. Well, it wouldn't be if it weren't for the time/air limit. Though to be fair, I've always found time limits in games annoying... |
| Apr 29 15:05:00 | 10m 00s | Grimlock's Lair | I wasn't able to beat the boss (probably because I use a laptop with a trackpad, so I can move and aim at once), but I had a lot of fun. Probably one of the best LD games this go round. |
| Apr 29 15:15:00 | 10m 00s | Planetary Fruit Miner | It's a nice concept, but it gets old pretty fast due to there not being enough variety... |
| Apr 29 15:25:00 | 10m 00s | Cave Runner - A multi monitor game | It was a nice concept, but clearly needed more play testing. The character select was non-functional, and I was always the default player on both screens. On top of that, I fell into the hole under the moving platform and couldn't get out. The controls generally felt clunky and unresponsive, and control is very important in a platformer. |
| Apr 29 15:40:00 | 15m 00s | Beneath the surface. | Sorry, but TBH, its quite boring. Maybe add a way to jump and more obstacles (and make it less easy). Also, why are you setting your game to such a high fps? 30 or 60 fps is usually more than enough, and is easier on the GPU. But, since it is your first Ludum Dare, you seem to at least have potential, and I've seen a lot worse attempts (games that don't run, games that crash on startup, Sting Wars... wait... that last one was a first 7DRTS, nevermind...), I'll rate a little kinder than usual... |
| Apr 29 17:24:00 | 1h 44m | Subocula | It was a bit too short, there was a pit in the second part of the level I couldn't escape, and I would say that the good ending was a bit too easy to get (got it on my first try, but saying the good ending is too easy to get is hypocritical, considering that the good ending in my game is the default one...), but it was a very nice experience. |
