Apr 30 10:31:00 Holy Moly Brrr, the boot gave me quite a shock xD Is there any way to know when it will hit you? Otherwise the game is a little easy: the rats don't move very intelligently, I had to purposefully draw out the game to see the water hose (nice animation btw ;) ) and getting air is no problem either. <br/>Still nice work in 48 hours for your first-time submission - I barely managed to finish in 72 and had to do some bugfixes even after that.
Apr 30 10:49:00 18m 00s What's Beneath? Nice graphics, reminds me of http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/sketchfighter/. You got me inspired for a future LD ;-) <br/>Also LOL @ the running out of time solution. <br/> <br/>I initially flew outside btw, it would have been a bit more immersive if you had done something to prevent that (e.g. endless horizon).
Apr 30 11:29:00 40m 00s Mars Station 23 Replay hung here too after some time, and it seemed as if it didn't reproduce my actions precisely - maybe I just forgot. Nice retro style, although gore is not really my thing.
Apr 30 11:45:00 16m 00s The Longest Way Down Nice work, I didn't spot any spelling errors that break the immersion in so many other text-using LD-games ;-) <br/> <br/>The missing music is really a shame, that would have made it so much better! It would also be much better if the hitboxes were not selectable (and the selection even draggable), but maybe this is just a Firefox issue. Selecting the eye is also hard sometimes, since the interaction with the tree-hitbox seems to be undefined.
Apr 30 11:59:00 14m 00s ColinQuest You will not get many players with a game that requires source download and make, let alone installing clang (70MB) - I used Python with PyGame on my first LD, and have been using Javascript since then. <br/> <br/>The game itself didn't work for me, I could walk around and get poisoned, but &lt; and &gt; didn't let me move up or down. The help function should document more stuff I guess. <br/> <br/>Also: <br/> <br/>Select items to drop: <br/> a - Apron [x001] <br/> b +ld29: mob.c:549: void unwield_item(Mob *, Item *): Assertion `*pos == item' failed. <br/> c - Potion of Cure Poison [x001] Aborted (core dumped)] <br/> <br/>Good hacker effort though :-)
Apr 30 12:12:00 13m 00s meltafreezeteleport: iceberg caver (I'm bad at names) I've seen games far worse than this! I'm just glad the spells were unnecessary (I was never isolated from the way down), you should have put the selection and casting on the same side, or better yet used the keyboard for that. <br/> <br/>No need to be so negative, the quality of the games is always limited by the 48 hours anyway. Sometimes I'm annoyed when people post something unfinished and clutter the real entries, but this was fine.
Apr 30 14:42:00 2h 30m A Glorious Escape for A Lich King On my first try the game froze after some time, maybe there was too much stuff walking around... The second time I made it, but the game only switched to the underground view without a win-indication. <br/> <br/>Otherwise really nice, it's hard to prioritize escape over getting all the goodies!
May 1 05:55:00 15h 13m COVERUP Urgh, so hard! Could be the early morning and sleep deprivation... Anyway a losing condition would be nice, I mostly brute-forced it now. Another thing is that you can't "hold position", so that sometimes you can not scan someone who's standing next to you. <br/> <br/>Cool game, very nice graphics!
May 1 16:15:00 10h 20m Mine Story Beautifully made, I still wonder how to do such lighting, have to look it up sometime... As others said the main problem are the controls. Up and down always take precedence over left and right, even when you're standing against a wall. It bummed me out that I lost my upgrades when I walked into a pit, the slow mining was too frustrating. DBGN didn't work for me.
May 2 12:15:00 20h 00m Wireside Wow, great execution and funny plot :D I wish I could make a pixel art game like that, I tried but didn't know how to make big pixels... The gameplay itself is a bit boring though, it takes a lot of time to walk around, waiting periods between rounds, and a lot of clicking. Maybe it would help to give the characters some abilities like in Chrono Trigger (my favorite RPG), require them to be in some configuration and use the terrain. Given the time limit it's of course very understandable that that wasn't possible.
May 2 14:22:00 2h 07m Shady has to eat I have to agree with StencylTuo about the gameplay aspect, the idea was okay but with clouds moving the way they do the game is too repetitive. The collision detection also feels a bit unforgiving when jumping near the edge. The graphics are nice though, overall the game looks well finished.
May 3 10:30:00 20h 08m Evolve Incredibly difficult, but really good. I couldn't figure out how to go down after the first wave of the small fish, my shockwave would always just get most of them, and I'd still be caught. As others said, very unforgiving, having to spend a minute every time to get to the same point again.
May 5 06:36:00 44h 06m Bunker 29 Cool game! The difficulty is spot-on, and I like the graphics and soundtrack. Some kind of storyline/upgrades/other variation would have been nice (if you have the time of course). It would also have been better to make the workers non-selectable (they are selectable like text now).
May 5 06:51:00 15m 00s SUPER ROBO GARDEN ARENA Like Armanky, I didn't immediately get the connection between praying and the statues - some kind of "You can only pray near a statue" message would have been helpful. The arrow volley is very cool, but navigation is too hard; the arrow keys are not very responsive.
May 16 22:05:00 279h 14m Under a Martial Artist's Skin As far as criticism goes, I agree with Marjie62 about the feedback and seeing the head, and with klianc09 about the yellow/white color combination. I liked the game in general, especially the narration. Hitting the targets was not too hard. The attacking mechanic could have been a little more interesting than just hitting two buttons at any moment (in practice you always accumulate 9 focus before attacking)
May 16 22:08:00 3m 00s Mushroom Jazz Doesn't work here on Ubuntu Firefox :-(
May 16 22:29:00 21m 00s Growing Weird Plants Nice idea, sometimes frustrating to control. I liked the sound when I finished a plant, the plants themselves could have been more diverse/colorful/funny to make the experience more rewarding.
May 16 22:39:00 10m 00s Find the Booty Doesn't work here on Ubuntu Firefox, I can only walk four squares (except walking back and forth). Did not find any treasure.
May 19 22:43:00 72h 04m See On Firefox, I only see yellow eyes and have to judge by size (which is hard, since the size resolution is not that high). I like the idea of the game, it kept me playing for a couple of minutes. My main suggestion is to make sure the player doesn't get stuck in an unwinnable situation, where she's too small to eat anything anymore.
