Dec 16 04:19:00 Conformance Thanks for the game! I really liked the graphics! Specially the busses with references passing from time to time.

That said, I think you should have added checks for a lose condition. If I understood correctly, "you only got one target", and the target is the yellow guy, but there is no penalty for killing the other NPCs, and that makes it a bit pointless.

Thanks for the game!
Dec 16 05:01:00 42m 00s Jump Chip Thanks for the great game, arkeus! The Graphics are fantastic, as always. I personally liked the colored details in the corners of the platforms.

The initial idea was quite inovative. It took me a while to get used to control both robots at the same time, but it was an enjoyable experience.

Then you throw it away in the middle of the game, and it is a regular platform jumper again. I'm not really sure I liked that bit. Also, because of the difficulty, the music starts grating on after a while.

Small bug: You can use the laser chip on the level BEFORE they tell you you can use it.

Cheers!
Dec 16 05:24:00 23m 00s No Way Out You nailed the "feeling of fear" perfectly with the ambience in this game! The graphics, sound and ambience all get together really well.

I'm not very sure that you could call your "good ending", "good ending"... Don't you think it might be a trigger for some people?

The game messages sometimes get lost among the fear messages later in the game, I'd guess that is just what you intended, but if not, they get hard to read by the time.

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 16 05:29:00 5m 00s The Terrible Battle Between Men and Turtles The idea for the board game (reverse tug-of-war?) was really original, I liked it!

One thing that I would improve, is that the first screen of the game has too much text - you can probably get rid of most of it, or present in a more appealing manner.

Thanks for the game!
Dec 16 05:44:00 15m 00s Ultimate Wish You really show your talent in that design. This is a very beautiful game!

Unfortunately the controls are really imprecise, which sucks for this kind of game. One thing that particularly bothers me is that the ball disappears from the world if we throw it out of the screen. Since the level pans around, I should be able to throw balls at platforms that I know are there, but can't yet be seen.

Thanks for the game!
Dec 16 05:48:00 4m 00s Last Minute Christmas Chopping Hey Notch!
+ The 3D runner looked quite awesome.
+ Liked the instructions in the beginning.
+ Loved the Night effects. Reminded me of Enduro!

- No sound? awww :-(
- This game gave me carpal tunnel syndrome :-P Maybe holding S you can continuously attack?

Thanks for the game!
Dec 16 06:10:00 22m 00s 0RBITALIS Oh man, this game is fantastic! I had a ton of fun with it. The feeling when you actually manage to get a stable orbit is awesome. The sounds (even the white background noise) fit perfectly.

I got as far as the galaxy in the main screenshot :-)

One thing that I would suggest is a menu where you can pick previous levels to play again in any order.

Cheers!
Dec 16 06:41:00 31m 00s Save One For The Kids Thanks for the game Sonnybone! It shows how a proper skin can breath life to any idea!

* Audio: I loved the sound effects. That "bronze" voice mocked me again and again as I progressed through the game. Music was also very appropriate.

* Graphics: I couldn't see the snow shader, but I still really liked the graphics. As you said on twitter, polish will make or break this game, so here are two things I think would improve the game immensely: 1- Gun recoil animation. 2- The blood splatter on a headshot should be MUCH larger :-)

* Gameplay: I like the gameplay, it is simple, yet challenging. I would like to have a review of my score for all levels after I cleared level 10, and maybe an option to retry a level if I didn't like the score (maybe unlocked after you played through the game once?)

* Bugs: When I got to level 10, my gun shot from the keypress of me leaving the previous level. *sadface*

Thanks for the game! :-D
Dec 16 07:05:00 24m 00s Party of One Hello from the Dinosaur Brigade!

Thank you for the game! It was surprisingly fun. The menus and the combat all moved smoothly so I could just keep clicking and playing, I liked that. I made it to the First boss before dying :-(

Some suggestions:
- You should make the damage numbers bigger and more colorful - they are the most important feedback from the game right now.
- The victory sound (fireworks?) sounds kinda bad. Maybe you could replace it with something else?
- If you added random sprites for the enemies, this game would be 1.2 times more awesome :-)

Thanks for the game! I had fun!
Dec 16 07:30:00 25m 00s Dinosaur Ranger Interview: Burrito Challenge SUPREME I came for the dinosaur, stayed for the humor! Very nice way to make a typing game, I loved it! Also thanks for all the different settings.

One thing is that changing the difficulty in the settings doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference in the game.

Cheers!
Dec 16 07:56:00 26m 00s A Ronin Heart (Sucks to be you, Sonny, this game runs fine under wine :-))

Tijmen, your games are always Awesome, but this one takes the cake! I loved the variety of movements of the samurai, such as how his blade can go in many different directions during the double jump, and how you can use defense to freeze enemies and turn them around for a backstab.

I spend a LONG time playing this game. Jumping fights feel VERY satisfying.

I got all the way to the second stage after the Lv3 enemies start appearing. I'll certainly be playing this more later.

Two suggestions:
1- As is common in this kind of games, often I would go into "where the hell is that last enemy" mode. Maybe add an arrow to point towards the nearest enemy if you spend more than X seconds without fighting?
2- Sometimes the AI would get stuck, and I could kill it at my leisure. This often happened when the AI was facing a step wall with me at their back.

Thanks for the awesome game! Have all my stars!
Dec 16 08:24:00 28m 00s Cluster Buster Works with Wine :-)

Very nice puzzle, I loved the concept. I have never played the original of this game, but I imagine that for some people it might be the source of a lot of nostalgia.

While I enjoyed the game, I think the controls could use some more love. In particular, the "skip step" control could use some sort of more explicit feedback, such as a "step" sound or something.

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 16 08:31:00 7m 00s The Story of Your Life Thanks for rating my game. Can you provide a binary (download) version of your game please?

Unfortunately, the Unity web plugin does not work yet on unix, but the downloadable version does :-)

I'll come again later. Cheers!
Dec 16 08:37:00 6m 00s You Only Get One, Make it count. That is a very cool idea for the control - use an attractor to guide your character, but if he gets too close you die. It seems that you can also die from falling from big heights?

Actually controling the bear was quite a pain, though. I'm not sure I can explain exactly what was the problem - maybe the sliding, or the amount of energy.

Once, I was able to make the bear almost "fly" by rapidly clicking a little ahead of him, but I didn't manage to repeat that.

Thanks for the game, and congratulations on finishing your first Ludum Dare!
Dec 16 08:50:00 13m 00s Disgruntled Employee (Played with Wine, worked without a glitch :-))

Hey thanks for the game, I enjoyed it! I liked that you don't really have to kill any of the other workers - they just run away. You beef is only with the boss.

There was one bug of note. The first time I entered the boss room, I switched to the gun. Then the dialog started, and I had to press "Z" to forward the dialog, but it also meant that my gun fired at the end before I was ready :-(

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 16 09:06:00 16m 00s VOXELTRONIC The graphics and sounds are very good, and the idea is fantastic! But the controls are kinda iffy.

I really want to PLAY this game (I love the idea of breaking down your enemies and assembling yourself), but I couldn't get past Wave 1.

I think maybe the mouse control needs to be more precise? (I felt that it drifted a bit too much), or maybe add a cursor so that we know which direction we are moving/aiming.

Thanks for the game!

(BTW, I played it on Wine, but since you seem to be using Unity, why not a linux build as well?)
Dec 16 09:21:00 15m 00s Monster Interceptor Loved the Music!

So the idea is that you only have one "real" chance left, so you can try as many times in the simulator as you want - I liked that, it was original.

I think it is nice that you can "Adjust" the beam after you fired it, saving on countless retrials.

One thing I think would be cool, was if the aliens on the last scenario were in a random location every time you got there. Since if you train perfectly, you can get to the Alien with time to spare, it would add a little bit of uncertainty to the game.

Also, the Alien could look a little more menacing ;-)

Thanks for the game!
Dec 16 09:46:00 25m 00s the Pit (Played it on wine. Worked, but without sound)

There are a lot of interesting things going on with this game. The little details on enemies getting knocked out by falling, and the little gun shells and gun recoil are very nice touches.

Random generation is showing its ugly head, though, as more often than not i would spawn in a level where most of the areas were unreachable. Once I even spawned in a tiny room.

Thanks for the game, and I hope you find the time to work on the post-ludum version!

(PS: I agree with Gemberkoekje, space is an awkward key to use for "restart")
Dec 16 09:48:00 2m 00s KERNEL Can we get a download link too? Unity downloads work on linux, but not the Web plugin :-(

I'll be back later, thanks!
Dec 16 10:06:00 18m 00s Son Whoa, I liked the trippy feel. I think it gives a lot of personality to the game. Although in certain points it made it really hard to get a grip on your environment (is that a door? a window? Can I go through there?)

I really liked the idea of the satellite map. I would probably give it a larger area and less battery. I also loved that you included some "inside" areas where the map could not be used.

I did not make it to the end :-( Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 17 15:28:00 29h 22m You Only Get One I this game, I learned that the solution for many environmental problems is a giant-sized Cork :-)

Nice game, congratulations for finishing the Jam. I think you guys really nailed the graphics, and the basic idea was cool too.

A few things I think could use some improvement:
- Having to click the different "resources" back and forth with the planet was frustrating, specially in the later levels. I think having the option to switch the resources using the keyboard would be nice.
- Also, make the selected resource stand up a bit more, sometimes it is not very clear.
- There could be a key to "leave" the game. I had to alt-tab out of the window and then kill the process to leave the game midway through.

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 17 15:52:00 24m 00s Darkest Friday Simple and to the point. I like it, specially the music! Loved the toy names!

Some issues:
- The Z really looks like a "2". The first time I played I lost because I thought the kid wanted a "Blat2" :-P
- In the main screen, if I mouse over the Cake and Code icon, the mouse changes to a clicking icon, but clicking there does nothing.

Thanks for the game! :-D
Dec 17 16:04:00 12m 00s Lost in Space Hmmm, the idea is interesting, but of course, you still need to place the hints around the galaxy for the game to be finishable. I think this has promise :-)

But maybe next LD you should reduce your scope? Just the "find the hints" mechanics should be a pretty good game already, but if you add things like space combat, asteroids and trading, it can quickly become way more than you can chew. Try to concentrate on doing one thing really well! :-)

See you next LD!
Dec 17 16:09:00 5m 00s Just One Minute Pretty cool idea, and the music is not bad!

Here is an idea - traffic and trees on your way home? Just drive around the forest! (You can drive outside of the screen all the way to victory :-P)
Dec 17 16:16:00 7m 00s Cmdr. Yogo Ha! Nice game, I liked it! I REALLY liked bouncing the ship against the edge of the screen.

"Sir, what about the president?"
*Bounce**Bounce**Bounce* Wheee!
"Sir?"

Some thoughts:
- If you win a stage and try a new one, your score should carry over - so you can see how big of a streak you can make
- If you made multiple random chats for the end of the level, this game's re-playability would go waaay up.

Thanks for the fun game!

*Bounce*
Dec 19 15:06:00 46h 50m One Rogue That was a neat game, I liked the sound effects and the enemy designs.

One thing that really bothered me is that the controls were a bit unresponsive - you should reduce the wait between one keypress and another a bit more!

Cheers!
Dec 19 15:15:00 9m 00s One For All & All For One sorry, wine didn't manage to run this game :-(
Dec 19 15:24:00 9m 00s Triceratops I really liked your choice of graphics! The white outlines made a nice effect, just take a little more care to avoid floating objects.

The controls were iffy - I tried to beat the first raptor three times, and three times I failed. It is not very clear when the horn actually hits - maybe a sound signal, or making the hit window bigger, would help?

Thanks for the game, fellow dinosaur lover!
Dec 19 15:55:00 31m 00s One Life, One Baby Wow! Sound effects, voice over, idle animations, transitions, your game got everything! Very fun :-D

I think you are going to like this video, I hope it gives you some ideas :-)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJdEqssNZ-U&list=FLMQ_qQlZ5zqZ0NAk3wqDRWA&index=1

Cheers!
Dec 24 14:59:00 119h 04m The One - A Tale of Bliss or Sorrow I'm getting an error message when trying to unzip your download file :-(

error: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile
(attempting to re-compensate)
inflating: The One.exe bad CRC 25461c01 (should be 6e60a68a)
Dec 24 15:04:00 5m 00s Beaver's Last Log Hey, thanks for your comment!

But I can't play your game, because the Unity web player is not available for Ubuntu. It would help a lot if you could make a Linux Export (Unity has that option), thanks!
Dec 24 15:27:00 23m 00s Christmas Cookie Craze That fireplace certainly adds a lot of "mood" for the game :-D

I liked the general idea a lot. It reminded me of the "keystone coppers" game on the Atari.

While I had fun, I feel the game got a bit frustrating if one of the elves starts going up or down too many levels, because it seems impossible to decide if I should climb this latter or just keep on going. Maybe that could be improved a bit by restricting the total number of floors in the level (right now it seems that there are infinite floors).

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Dec 25 13:16:00 21h 49m Only One I'm usually not very much into narration-heavy games, but I did enjoy your adventure.

In the first text screen, there were some sentences that ran on too long, and broke the mood a bit. That got much better when the game switched to using short, single sentences.

I was expecting the final choice, and rather than being predictable, I was actually relieved when I got that choice. I think you played very well with the timing.

One thing that was a bit confusing in the beginning is that in many places "next" should actually be "think". In some pages you had a choice between "do something" and "next", and it was confusing what "next" was in relation to the "do something" action.

All in all I enjoyed the game a lot, thanks for it!
Dec 25 13:26:00 10m 00s Static Room Hey, thanks for the game, and congratulations on finishing your second LD!

When I played, I was a bit worried that "rooms would change without me seeing", but as far as I could tell, the rooms did not change unless I pressed a button in the control room. I think it would be interesting if the rooms did change outside of your control (in a fixed pattern), so that you had to learn the pattern of the rooms in the game.

I really liked in the first and the second level that picking up keys would increase the enemies in the rooms. On the third level, sometimes I met rooms with 2 enemies, even when I had 2 keys on me.

The music was a little bugged - pressing the buttons that change rooms would also make the music turn on and off.

All in all, the game needed more/longer levels to make the "maze" thing work, but I think you are in the right direction.

Cheers, and see you next LD!
Dec 25 13:56:00 30m 00s Happiness That was a very engaging game, thank you a lot for it!

I really enjoyed the voices - even though there is only one path, it did feel like it was reacting to your actions.

Cheers!
Dec 25 14:36:00 40m 00s YOGO - The Detective Story Thanks for the effort in the LD.

To be quite honest, I was not very satisfied with the game. The biggest problem is that there is only ONE information in the entire game was important for the ending, and part of the information necessary to get the ending right is contained outside the game.

When you make a puzzle game, it is usually good practice to make sure that ALL information necessary to complete the puzzle is inside the game somehow.

Cheers!
Dec 25 14:59:00 23m 00s Incomplete I liked the drawings and the music! But I felt that the transitions were a bit slow. Also, I lost a lot of time on the "Desert" stage because I didn't realize there was a "Way" object :-)

Cheers, and thanks for the game!

PS: a woman as a prize, really?
Dec 28 14:51:00 71h 52m Let it snow As others said, you just uploaded a Unity Project file - you should export the project as an application from the Unity Editor.

Cheers!
Dec 28 15:01:00 10m 00s In a maze with one Heh, interesting concept. Congratulations on finishing your game!

As others said, the maze itself is not very inspiring, and since we can't see everything, it is a bit hart to make a decision about when to use the items. But I think these are things you can work on to make a better game.

You should add a "you win" screen when someone manages to get out of the maze.

Cheers!
Dec 28 15:25:00 24m 00s Top Heavy (Ran on Linux without problem)

Wow, Ludum Dare needs more Rhythm games! Nice idea. I also laughed at "Top Heavy" :-)

I love Rhythm games, and this one was quite fun! Triple pressing for punch was a bit hard, though.

Cheers, and congratulations on a fun first Ludum Dare game!
Dec 28 15:31:00 6m 00s One Minute Box Shooter Congratulations on finishing the game.

I was a bit lost, the total darkness gave me no hint about where I should go looking for boxes, and I felt that the player was a bit slow, specially when jump-climbing stairs.

Also, after I lost the first time the game did not allow me to restart, so I had to close and begin the game agan.

Well, congratulations for finishing your game in time! :-)
Dec 28 18:07:00 2h 36m Space Scrap Armageddon 2000 That is an interesting idea. I guess this is what happens after you start throwing too much trash around Kerbin's orbit :-)

That said, it felt a bit hard to figure out where I was. The viewport felt a little claustrophobic, and when I grabbed a piece of scrap, it was really hard not to bounce with other scrap pieces and to figure out where the base was.

Also, 1 second is a bit too short :-)

Cheers, and thanks for the game!
Jan 3 14:16:00 140h 09m Carry the one That is a fantastic idea :-)

I would love to see a few more intermediate levels between the three "introductory" levels and the last two "real" levels, but I really liked the game as a whole!
Jan 6 23:35:00 81h 19m Two Options... Awesome game. The art is pretty charming, and the level design is amazing. I felt myself always challenged a little bit more, and wanting to try again!

I found a bug where sometimes the adventurer's corpse would become a sideways ladder.
