Aug 28 19:00:00 Curiosity, The Untold Story A pretty complete and basicly fun game. If I were to complain about something, it'd be that the progression is pretty slow to get started. I spent a few minutes just standing on a hill killing zombies without having to move at all. Some encouragement to move and some brakka brakka noises for the guns would be nice too! Still, I had fun!
Aug 28 19:15:00 15m 00s Space Mayham This is going to mostly be critiques, but I'd like to make it clear that I did have some fun, and the game is essentially complete.

Off the bat, the enemies are small and dim, and that makes it a strain to see them. That, plus their small size, the imprecision of the weapons, and the extremity ofthe player movement compared to the enviroment, and it can be frustrating killing lone enemies. And given there's no cost to firing both weapons, I'm not sure why they're on both keys, it mostly seems to serve to make me press two buttons instead of one.

On top of that I don't really think the basic upgrade system is enough to really make it an evolution game, unless there's a lot more going on I'm not noticing.
Aug 29 00:25:00 5h 10m You ARE the RAIN Your dropbox webplayer link is broken.

I really don't know if there's a theme connection here that I'm missing, but I just don't see it. Otherwise an intriguing and very atmospheric game, but a bit simple, and I'd reaalllllllyyyyy like an autofire.
Aug 29 00:32:00 7m 00s DashDashDASH I like the idea of this, but unfortunatley it's not actually very fun. It looks lice, and the sounds and concepts are cool, but the movement physics are so slidey and the targeting so unforgiving I can't get very far, and it's very frustrating.

I would love to see a post LD version of this with the rough spots smoothed out, though!
Aug 29 01:27:00 55m 00s Cubevo Quite a nice game, though I got stuck at 38%. I couldn't figure out how to attack the monster even after finding the sword. It'd be nice if you could slide along obejcts rather than coming to a stop whenever you bump into anything. Also, I don't really feel like this works with the theme interestingly. Despite using the word, it doesn't really feel like things are evolving, just getting unlocked.
Aug 29 02:04:00 37m 00s Mutate Kept playing until a key spawned on top of the door and made it impossible to get through. passing through messages seems a little flaky too. I like the idea of randomized upgrades, but the player starts out so capable compared to the challenges, they were nearly ignorable.
Aug 29 02:45:00 41m 00s Convolution My (windows) console window says "failed to open the audio device" and nothing else happens.
Aug 29 04:28:00 1h 43m Evolve 'em all I really, really like this in concept, put it's really insanely unforgiving. The dense bullet patterns, one HP ship, and greater-than-one-pixel hitbox all combine to make it painfully difficult.
Aug 29 04:56:00 28m 00s Rings of Evolution The intro seriously drags, and the music loop behind it is just not very good. There's no obvious option to skip as far as I can tell, either. The font is pretty hard to read at times, as well. I admire the length of the game, but the gameplay feels really unpolished, so I don't think I'm going to see the whole thing.
Aug 29 18:51:00 13h 55m Zombie 0 Chalk up another 'I can't run this' for me. 64bit win7, when I click on the jar nothing happens.
Aug 29 19:15:00 24m 00s Unnatural Selection Nice idea. It looks like what dinos make it through influences the properties of the next wave, which is pretty cool. Two complaints: The aiming mechanic is pretty frustrating for me, I'd rather just have point and click. Second, the explosion sound effects seem to have very uneven volume.
Aug 30 05:22:00 10h 07m Evolution Racer Not to be a wet blanket, but it don't really amuse me. I seem to be in a minority there, but defying expectations leaves a sour taste when the expectation being defied is 'have fun'. Sorry.

I enjoyed the music, though.
Aug 30 08:08:00 2h 46m Improv ...did a large peanut man just... body slam me to death?
Aug 31 23:03:00 38h 55m Prance Prance Evolution Interesting idea and decent execution, but I didn't really find it that engaging. Maybe if there were more to do, or it was easier to see what all your horse's stats were compared to each other.
Aug 31 23:09:00 6m 00s Rock-Parer-Scissors War More interesting than it looks! A way to direct your units even a little bit might have been interesting, or at least give them more sophisticated AI... maybe something like the officers in Darwinia. A way of keeping score or getting a list of how many units you and your opponent have could be nice too. Maybe multiplayer? Idunno!
Aug 31 23:13:00 4m 00s Lamarck's Theory of Evolution Neat idea, but the controls were hard to handle... Aiming was difficult and it didn't tell me what the zxc keys were for at first. More upgrades as you level up would be neat.
Aug 31 23:20:00 7m 00s The World of Worlds Neat little RTS game! Actually quite hard. It's easy to get to the point where you can't make any more workers.
Aug 31 23:28:00 8m 00s Static Weird and wacky! Neat little toy.
Aug 31 23:55:00 27m 00s Nom's Evolvathlon Quite cool! Controls were a little clunky on a mouse. I liked the puzzle-solving aspect of it. It'd be nice if there were some ordering of evolutions so that you, say, couldn't get "fly" before getting "breathe", and if there were a way to restart the level without restarting the game.
Aug 31 23:59:00 4m 00s Able On my system it didn't appear that the direction I moved and the direction the camera was facing had anything to do with each other, which made doing anything pretty challenging...
Sep 1 00:26:00 27m 00s Far From Earth Quite neat, once you figure out the controls. Around wave 75 I had enough guys and monsters and bullets everywhere that lag started becoming an issue though. Monsters also stopped being a real threat... By wave 100 I had to stop because it ran so slow.

Would also be nicer if the archer's shots were more visible.
Sep 1 00:48:00 22m 00s Death Cell Awesome! Great way of using the Game of Life (though it sometimes went too fast to really be able to see what was going on; maybe a bigger playing field?) Gotta be careful what you shoot!

Made a windows executable available here: http://alopex.li/temp/death-cell.zip
