DoomCake Rotating controls 45 degrees to isometric view was hard, along with watching shadows rather than falling food to predict location. Frustrating, but the novelty of navigating those two issues offset their negatives.
The Haunting Great! The intro makes a great impression, and the squish of the player with the blood felt oddly realistic.

The overall gameplay strongly reminds me of Galaxy Quest, where they were trying to get through the innards of the ship and needed to time their jumps.
Glacier I loved the concept during the compo and was looking forward to playing the game. Beautiful graphics, but the UI was just a little too weird for me to get it; either it was buggy or I was missing some constraint. Some moves that seemed like they should be valid were flagged red.

The isometric view was pretty, but I wonder whether the game would have been more effective in classic Tetris-style 2D.
The Hotel Advance Nice Donkey Kong vibe. Game made a great first impression with splash screen, music, and scene transitions (fading).

Minor pet peeve: it bugs me when platformers let the character change velocity/direction mid-jump. Unless the character has a jet pack or is carrying a very strong table fan, that's impossible. Joust got this exactly right, which might be what made it hard for people to play at first.
Mood Fo Llaw Cool use of theme. Nice consistent 8-bit style.

Planes hard to kill, helicopters were fish in barrel. At the end of the game there's something strange happening with unterminated sounds.

The swing between easy-to-kill and hard-to-kill was too extreme; make it more graduated and it could be fun to play.
Peak Score 2251. Feels like a RTS, but in practice it's almost a twitch game. Might make a great iPhone game; doesn't require a lot of complicated input, and it's perfect for someone who wants to zone out for a few minutes. With the accelerometer gently nudging your dudes where you want them to go, you'd also get to play up the God angle.

Nice idea how at any given time, anything can be the AWoD.
Title Unknown "I assumed the flying thing was my helper fairy, until it murdered me." haha!

It's very hard to judge this game without the music, because the music helped the game make a great first impression -- dark, mysterious, fun but dangerous, etc.

But if I purge my memory and replay the game with the speakers off..... it's nicely polished, and far above the rest of the pack in terms of artwork. Gravity needs some adjustment; the player seems to fall more slowly than that aqua fly thing does.

The first level irritated me when I finally figured out the platforms were irrelevant.
Murus Didn't work on my XP machine. Points given for journal, food, and polish (because you did go through the cgl steps).
PET THAT KITTEN! I left several of the categories n/a because I honestly couldn't figure out how this game worked. AWSD made enough sense, but Q and E didn't seem to do anything, and while I was stuck with the arrow telling me to press B or Y, the wall clobbered me.

Other things that made this game hard to judge:

- I had only a keyboard.
- I was /this/ close to skipping the game when I realized it had an installer.
- No documentation telling how to play the game, though I gathered a little bit from the journal and other judge comments.
Wall Wrecker Classic stuff! And well-executed.

Gameplay comments: the smooth paddle movement is a bit freaky, but I guess it's a good compromise for digital inputs. And it's hard to distinguish the good items from the bad items that drop from the bricks, so I felt more confused by them than anything else.
Walled Off Technical perfection in transition from intro screen to game screen. Meticulous journaling of food.
