LD38 — A Small World

Tableworld. by Gunschlinger 2017-05-05T19:07:56Z

Very cool entry. Although i was a little bit confused about the game mechanics first, it opend up intuitively. Although it is a simple game idea, the message is very impressive: A 100% match for the theme!

Congratulations - well done.

The game has a cool setting, but it is quite complicated to learn and also not clear what really happens there. It seems that there is too much text and too less game-like feedback like appearing items or so. The inventory is also very complicated to control.

This could be a nice game with some rework of the details!

This is quite funny. Cool Idea to have the different roles. But it seems to be a little unbalanced. When the controller of the snow globe turns it upside down it is no longer visible and the other players have no chanche.

This was really fun to play. I finished all levels.

I miss however some kind of rising challenge. Although the levels get biggger, it is not more difficult. It is more a challenge of endurance to fill the very big play area. This is of course difficult to design an implement within the ludum dare timeframe, so I think it is quite perfect for the short time. Just a challenge for you in case you want to improve the game later on.

Very cool idea well implemented! You are very creative.

I like the vanishing of land under the water and the subtle sound effects when a building submerges. This is really a refreshing game idea. It is also a refreshing different game mechanic. Although it does not seem to be a real challenge, it was fun to place the buildings and watch the numbers grow.

Technically I would like a fullscreen mode. I like the controls. It makes it very easy to build without too much mouse moving.

Thanks for the ideas. I has also the feeling that there is not much challenge. But it is indeed possible to loose: When people do not find a free house they get angry and when two angry meet, they grow into some kind of superangry. When one gets too big the game suddenly ends...
