LD27 — 10 Seconds

Potentiam Limitatam by biag 2013-08-27T00:42:00

I agree with Frozen, this is pretty cool. I ran into issues where I'd have a tile highlighted for action, but it was never harvested and so I'd end up with 1 of me 2 starting population never harvesting anything. Would like to see this fleshed out some more.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

A (dis)connected world... by royvanrijn 2014-08-25T05:35:00

Loved it!

ServerSphereICE by drakfyre 2014-08-25T03:40:00

It took me a minute to figure out what was going on. I must have moved the mouse when it first loaded so I couldn't see my cube. I just heard explosions and my firing, but couldn't make sense of what was what. It was only when I used the mouse again to scan all over the sphere that I realized it wasn't an FPS, but a Third Person when I found my cube. Once I got that sorted out, it was more fun but using mouselook at all throws me off because I lose my cube again.

Graphics and sounds are pretty cool!

PEW PEW PEW PEW by invi 2014-08-25T07:05:00

Definitely the best game I've played so far for this compo. Everything is just so polished and well done. I did run into a bug where I somehow fell off the cube and was just firing from somewhere in never never land. Just restarted and all was fine though. Great job!

World Jumper by miro662 2014-08-25T06:44:00

This feels pretty similar to mine, which of course I like! It got pretty hard and I ended up bailing out on one of the levels after many tries. It definitely makes me want to come back and play at some point. I think with some updated audio and graphics, this could be really good.

Connected Worlds by WesleyJohnson 2014-08-25T03:42:00

Thanks for the comment so far, everyone. I agree on the level switching being jarring. I think, looking back, it may have made more sense to have the parallel world rendered on top of your world using dotted outlines or something akin to Mario's POW blocks when the POW isn't hit.

I agree on the tutorial blocking view and some of the jumps being a stretch as well. :)

@vinhuman - Oh, man! I had forgotten about Ripple Runner, but had definitely played it before. I bet I was subconsciously inspired by that game; it's so good. I'm humble that this reminded you of it.

@haveric - Thanks, I definitely should have allotted for more time to create levels. Having some sort of editor would have made that easier. I was going to use tiled, but never got around to it. Thanks for the heads up on the bug. :)

Connected Worlds by WesleyJohnson 2014-08-25T13:38:00

@rex64 - Thank you!

@LordDraficus - Thanks. I definitely wanted to do more with the lives and having other mechanics in the game that will cause you to lose life.

@ahmedmohi - Great, I'm glad you liked the concept! I agree that if I can rework and polish everything it should be pretty fun. Don't forget you can use SPACE to change worlds too, which might be abit easier than DOWN.

Connected Worlds by WesleyJohnson 2014-08-28T14:57:00

Thanks for the continued feedback everyone!

Connected Worlds by WesleyJohnson 2014-09-08T15:34:00

Thanks. :) I had a lot of fun making it. Hoping to turn it into a fully game eventually.

The Tree by Calciumtrice 2014-08-25T04:41:00

I really enjoyed the art, mechanic and gameplay. As greysphere said, I wanted a final battle as well! I couldn't figure out how to use the stomp ability though. I tried pressing "s" but nothing happened Anyway, cool game.

Planet Rescuers by lion123 2014-08-25T16:54:00

You can break blocks by walking next to them, highlighting them with your mouse and then holding the left mouse button. The blocks to your right when you first start can't be broken down, it appears. Try moving left to the other side of the "cage" and break down the white breaks. Then, starting breaking down the various colored bricks to gather resources. It took me a while to figure this out as well. Definitely needs to be clearer or have some type of tutorial to guide you to do that.

of Light and Dark by MaddeMichael 2014-08-25T14:00:00

I really, really liked this. I think the graphics are really well done, the audio is decent and the mechanic is solid. I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind seeing this fleshed out with more levels, etc. Good job!

Exolink by stimpact 2014-08-25T05:02:00

This was pretty fun once I got the hang of it. Even playing against myself was interesting when using different strategies.

ScrollShift by diamondgfx 2014-08-25T04:26:00

I don't play a lot of endless runners either, but I thought this was pretty well done. I really liked the character art and the rest of the graphics were good too. I don't have an ear for audio, but yours didn't make me want to mute so that is a good sign. Cool.

Third Law by smugbit 2014-08-25T04:49:00

Pretty cool. I figured out a trick pretty early on though and started racking up high scores in no time. :P I think it's fun though!

TORN by LoHii 2014-08-25T03:56:00

This look cools, but I'm on a Mac. If you end up porting it to web or OSX, hit me up. :)

A Frog's Task of Life by V_V 2014-08-25T01:29:00

Good first try. The music is great!

Shinyrock by jesseleavethisplace 2014-08-25T03:25:00

I got pretty far and then I ran into "d:draw" written out on the screen and the graphics started to blur/repeat as if the screen buffer wasn't getting reset or something? Very odd. Kudos on the intro text, very funny.

Lucy's Journey by ajopart 2014-08-28T15:01:00

Cool. Very similar to mine like you said, but also different. I think the concept is good and I liked the execution on it. Checkpoints are a nice touch as well. It does get pretty hard pretty fast as others have said, but I think you're onto something with this.
