Align The Sea by CursedEmbassy 2025-04-21T12:11:36Z

I got as far as getting the lantern and the first shelter. A few comments:

- It was very fun in the early game, figuring out the mechanics and having some sense of progression when diving. I was happy it was not an endless dive but you get a nice little bonus at the bottom :) - I think after seeing the cost of the next upgrade I realised that at this point the mechanics are not advanced enough to carry on  - I like the little critters and changes as you dive. I can imagine with more time they could have more mechanics to them or interactions with objects you can buy :) Scratch a turtle for some oxygen? - Would be great for the red-screen-of-death to highlight O2 bubbles. The visual hint you're dying is good, but it hides your only way to safety - The art style change was a bit of a surprise - not sure how I feel about it tbh, at first I thought it was inconsistent, but then maybe having different art styles for different parts (dive vs build) of the game could be fun? - I think I respawned the first time and still kept my collected materials? Not sure if it's intended

Either way, I had good fun playing through it!

This felt like playing a demo version of a fully finished game - it's got its own distinct character, just needs content/levels. :)

@digital-bacon yeah, that makes sense! I meant demo in a positive way definitely, like the full release is just around the corner with more levels.

Out Of My Depth by okuar 2025-04-21T09:57:16Z

This is really cool! It's funny because as a dev I get obsessed with mechanics, complexity and whether there is enough in the game to justify it being a game.

Then as a player I realise I actually don't mind a more abstract, shorter game - something that stops you for a few minutes and gets you thinking.

Kudos for that, it's great to get something that both gets you thinking about your approach to game design and also gives you an interesting experience.

I like it, felt like the game shows and hides just enough to leave a lot to the imagination to do the work. Makes you feel very uneasy all the time

This game confuses my senses in the right way.

My only issue was that with the hud being linked to the mirror it's hard to keep track of your stats as you move around, would find it easier if HUD was more static.

Last stop before the Depths by thegrottman 2025-04-22T12:00:29Z

The idea is really cool, my gripes were only with trying to figure out the controls/navigation:

It might be just me being very dumb, but it took me a few minutes to figure out E picks stuff up. I completely ignored the help button and forgot it exists, so I checked the description for info and couldn't find much in there. I think my issue at first was that I kept standing on the energy pads pressing all buttons and wondering why nothing's happening, and was concluding I am pressing the wrong keys.

Maybe a bit more of a zoom out would be good as well? Sometimes it felt a bit too claustrophic.

Having arrows, at least at the start, pointing at the edges of the screen to all the components could be useful. They don't have to be around forever (eg. can disappear past a certain score), but it would help with memorisation where components are.

And I'll just echo what others said, having less of a floaty feel to things would be cool. I like the idea of the movement being a bit fiddly and something you need to master, but floatiness feels like you don't have much room for that.

@gustavo-christino it probably would have helped if I'd put a tracker for the various whale tasks once you have done a few of them 😆

So the second ending requires 5 tasks to be done (spoilers below):

- Rescue the crying crab (stacking some crabs might help!) - Scratch the itchy whale - Rescue the trapped whale - Bring the baby whale to the crying whale - plug the oil leak

It's likely you've missed one, in retrospect I realise it is hard to know if you've done all or you missed something or the game bugged out.

Thank you for playing and the kind words, it's always very motivating. :)
