LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Revenge is Inevitable by minibobbo 2022-04-08T23:13:42Z

Heheheh duuude! This was amazing! Its like a little cute version of Ninja Gaiden. I loved the vibe, very goofy but fun. The music was 10/10 and fit the game perfectly. Maybe a bit too hard on the second mission, but I understand that's part of the idea. Well done!

Dude are you crazy? This is amazing. What a beautiful piece of art. When they say games should be an experience, I think this is what they mean. Such a simple idea and a small collection of pieces of art and dynamic music, beautifully executed to transcend the medium and create a heartbreaking or heartwarming experience.

I'd love to know how the dynamic music pieces play out as the elements collide with the Kiwi, that was such an expert touch and implemented in a short time. The music itself was also perfect as it was incredibly cute and emotional. Very impressive work and worth every bit of admiration. The artwork was beautiful too, hand-drawn style pieces of art that could perfectly fit in a children's storybook. In fact this is an interactive children's storybook. Incredible.

This game left a little tear in my eye as I got to the end. Also it was quite well tied up to the jam theme so extra points for that!

Thank you!

Akashica by Skruffye 2022-04-15T21:07:58Z

Aaaah the mythic Akashic records! I had a vision of the Akashic library once during a meditation. It was an impossibly huge, endless room with rows upon rows of archive slots on the walls, whereupon mechanical belts of minted blocks of text were being stored and constantly moved, fed by a machine that was constantly punching the blocks of text as it went.

The game is wonderful, I gave it a 5 all round because it nailed the immersion, and although I missed having some sort of artwork of the setting or locations, in the end my imagination was far scarier and more effective, just like in the old days of text adventures. The music was perfect and served its purpose, simple and effective, not much else needed.

The dynamics keep you on your toes and you never know what's going to happen with every decision you make! Writing is incredible 10/10. You must have stayed up all night channeling a lot of inspiration to write all that world in such a short time.

The only downside I could find to the game is that I couldn't finish it because it crashed on me at some point as I got slammed by one of the statues :joy:

Even still this is definitely one of my favourite entries so far

@skruffye Dude! Well deserved! The crash occurred on the post-jam version, I did not think to take a screenshot :(, but if I find a similar crash at another point I will send you a screenshot!

Duuude this is amazing! I love point & click and this is definitely up the same alleyway as the old school lucasart games. I couldn't really solve much, but I know maybe with time I'll figure it out. Maybe some more logical clues could help there. Aside from that, excellent jam work! Congratulations!

Hey! In terms of presentation, visuals, theme, audio it was really cool, a throwback to DOS games! Nice! Somber, powerful atmosphere. However I'll be honest with you, I had no idea what I was doing. I believe a game these days should be intuitive in terms of mechanics and gameplay, or at least give you a hint in the right direction with some small guidance to begin with until you get your brain in the right place for the gameplay.
