LD45 — Start with nothing

The Little Adventure for Slime by mimusangel 2019-10-08T19:02:13Z

I did not understand the anvil part. I was not able to break through anything I found on the map. Other than that, it had some cool mechanics and made me feel a little bit smart when I used them correctly.

As many have said, the controls are not that great. Sometimes the keys don't even register and you have to spam them to get through. I do think some animations could be a bit faster to make it smoother, but there has be something on the coding side that is the culprit here.

Only thing are the sudden dead ends, as others have said. In a story game, there has to be some kind of impact when it ends. Maybe there is a way to play around it with game mechanics. Maybe you an turn back time and literally go back in your text? That would be a cool game actually.

I liked how you sectioned the areas. Completing one, getting something new that unlocks the other area felt nice. Especially the visual upgrade was cool and made the boss fight feel more special because of the anticipation you felt when suddenly receiving such an upgrade, you just knew something cool would happen soon and, thankfully, you did not get disappointed.

The only weakness in this is the difficulty. I personally found the first area more challenging than the second one. But I'm betting it's mostly due to the time constraint.

I think most people already mentioned almost everything else.

Lucifer's Rise by hydrate 2019-10-07T23:36:46Z

I played and liked it a lot. Especially that 'Aha' moment once you start to get going and know what the most efficient way of getting money is. That stopped very quickly though. I just started to ramp up to get MAD money at lightning speed and then it suddenly was over. There is definitely something here if you wanted to continue developing this.

I also like how you had the full package of main menu and ending going on. Seems very polished and focused on what you wanted to do.

Art and music is also very nice in my opinion. Can't forget that.

Redbeard's Return by civmaniac 2019-10-21T17:51:26Z

I like how the art just pops out. Probably because of the colors you chose or just the parts having shadows? Not sure why, but it looks pretty cool.

Gameplay was ok. Kinda simple for a pro gamer like me, but the things you had to do fit the setting. It just felt "right". I guess I want to say that here was a certain flow to it and everything you did "made sense".

Only thing I disliked is that I could not slap the monkey at the beginning. I don't know why, but I had that strange urge erupt inside of me that I was not able to extinguish. But that's obviously not the fault of your game, just sharing my experience.
