The car’s handling is pleasant, as is the handling itself.

Really impressive! The visuals are incredibly realistic, and I can’t believe this was made in a jam. Amazing work from the team!

Nice entry, I especially appreciated the quake 1 style graphics. One thing I noticed: the key for reverse is "w" instead of "s"? (took a while to get that there is a reverse gear too lol :P)

Thanks everyone for feedback :)

@harujam yep, this manual gearbox control scheme can be unfamiliar if you rarely encounter it in other games :)

Now I know I can drive!

The key thing was to use my right hand of shift/ctrl so that I could more fluidly shift between 1st and reverse, which was a VERY frequently required thing.

I also made a driving game, and we have EXTREMELY different approaches to how we want the feel to be, but I definitely respect this hardline view. I love how the game takes its stand about what the controls are, and then creates the challenges accordingly.

Also the visuals and sound effects were very nice.

Really liked this one, nice job.

Fun game. Was a bit confused about the end. I thought first that it was the intro complete and it just got stuck in an infinite load. Was fun solving puzzles in a bit of a different movement style and the gameplay worked great. There were some situations especially the crate room where the car could get quite easily stuck and that was a bit annoying. I feel like I could get really into this with a bit more time. In this short time I was still quite frustrated at myself and the lack of control over the car. GG

The reversing was pretty challenging for me. I spend most of the time driving into a wall and getting stuck. The instructions said S to reverse, but I noticed I had to actually shift the gears. I wasn't able to get passed the first puzzle. I think I needed to drive over the 4 red dots quickly, somehow using my handbrake, but that was beyond my ability to control the car.

Really good game with solid mechanics. The main concept is really clever and fits with the theme correctly. The aesthetic is good and reminds me of the old racing car games from the past, like FlatOut. It's not always easy to solve puzzles (if I can call the levels this way), but with time, the car becomes particularly smooth and efficient. You made a really good entry. One of my favorite entries for this 60th LudumDare session. You deserve more ratings. I don't understand why your project seems so unrated... I really appreciate your comments about my own project. I wish you the best ++

@tod-semple Thank you for pointing out the inconsistency in the control instructions! ❤️

I completely missed that `S` was also labeled as **reverse** for no reason :D

Ig others got puzzled here for the same reason. The instruction picture is fixed now! 🌿

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to create enough levels during the jam time limit to introduce the car handling in a more user-friendly way. So the jam version of the game somewhat assumes that the player already has some experience with similar sim-like driving games.

Hopefully, I'll manage to expand it a little in the post-jam version. I'd really appreciate your feedback on that too! :)

@pooki thanks a lot for your detailed feedback! And congrats, you made it to the end of the jam entry 🔥

I'm also really curious what specifically caused the problems with getting stuck in the crate room? I know that threshold level on the floor was a bit too high for the car's suspension. So there were some cases where car could accidentally jump or got "glued" to the threshold line. Was it the case for you? Or was there a problem with the boxes?
