very cool game, it's so entertaining and exciting, I like that you have to keep track of everything at once and that you need to be attentive.

That was sick. As soon as I fully figured out what I need to do I very quickly got in a flow state. 5 times I slipped on a leach out of 5.

very cool game and well made! but slipping on leeches was bad friction instead of being a consequence to some skill issue (good friction). i understood that walking across the leeches would make me slip, but the third time it happened while i was trying to carefully pick up the leech and not walk across it was when i stopped playing. i also think this game would be better with only mouse click inputs. using WASD so much in a predominately idle game also added that bad kind of friction.

I really enjoyed your game. Even though I’m not particularly good at management games, I had a lot of fun.

I loved it when the nurses started moving back and forth—a clever way to "get in the way" of the doctor.

The gameplay felt very fluid and enjoyable. The movement is well-executed, and I especially liked how the doctor walks more slowly when carrying a corpse, effectively conveying its weight—a very smart touch.

Although the art style is simple, everything is easy to identify; the visuals are clear. The art at the beginning feels a bit disconnected from the in-game art—I suspect the title screen image might have been sourced from the internet. The music is also excellent; the cello gives the game a somber, funereal atmosphere.

The hitboxes for actions can be a bit confusing at times. While it’s usually clear what the character is targeting, when you’re standing near two objects, the focus tends to flicker between them, which occasionally led me to perform the wrong action. Perhaps incorporating mouse-based interaction could improve this?

What game inspired you to create this one? I ask because there are many games in this genre, and usually, there’s one that stands out as a primary influence.

I think this is a fantastic take on the theme. Many people focus solely on machinery and forget just how much medicine has evolved.

Congratulations!

solid entry, I love it, it has its own language and rules, very intuitive and engaging

Funny idea! Agree with the comment about flow state, ESPECIALLY once i learned I could employ triple leech technology.

Thanks for all the comments! Some answers and notes:

@hexela - I could have made this more explicit, but running will guarantee slips. Walking is 25% chance.

@hammeredzombie - It's especially easy to slip when trying to pick up a leech from above because of how the hitboxes were configured. I noticed it too late to fix before the deadline. I plan to fix it but will have to wait until the LD review period is over.

@euler-moises - The art is from some actual historical depictions of leeching. Details in the credits! Mouse controls are interesting. I didn't consider it. I was inspired by Overcooked. I loved that game but multiplayer seemed impossible for the jam so I focused on adding 1p mechanics. If I keep working on it multiplayer is a high priority.

Cool setting—I especially liked the graphics and visuals! I didn't quite figure out how to play, though😭😂

Cool visual and design! Loved the concept especially.

A very interesting twist on the theme! It took me a while to understand why people keep healing after the leeches fall off, but then I realized it’s probably the draining blood 😄 The management side of the gameplay is done very well. Everything is convenient, and there are exactly as many interactions as there should be. It’s handy that you can pick up many fallen leeches at once, and that you can put fresh leeches back into the jar if you take too many

I've always loved games like this, a little bit of darkness, a little bit of imagination, where fiction and reality are blended together, the music helped me a lot to get into the role of the doctor! Personally, I find this game really inspiring!

If I remember correctly, the theory of balancing bodily humors that bloodletting was based on was fundamentally flawed, and the practice ended up killing many patients, either directly or indirectly.

doc400 2026-10-23 11:10 ♥ 1

I really like the theme, it’s amazing how you applied the real concept to the gameplay

john-shen 2026-10-23 16:42 ♥ 0

@daniel123 absolutely. Bloodletting was medically incorrect and lost favor after the cholera outbreak at the end of this game. This era was peak leeching :P

It might be fun to add an epilogue to the game like "Congrats on making X francs! You made enough money to support yourself after leeches fell out of favor"

This game is wonderful in every way! **It’s the best game I’ve played in this jam so far.** I hope you get the high ratings you deserve!

I enjoyed it so much that I got my wife to try it too, and **she loved it!**

tailchaser 2026-10-24 15:47 ♥ 0

The concept and the theme implementation are very creative. The game is fun and entertaining, leeches are nasty, you did a great job!

shanzpro 2026-10-25 05:09 ♥ 0

I would call it cute but that feels wrong for a game about leeches!

roroto-sic 2026-10-25 20:43 ♥ 1

A good management game with an original concept; it’s the first time I’ve ever applied leeches to my patients.
