the generator is very loud, apparently it generates something very powerful.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD58 → Gas Collector

@orlov-nikolay ah, yea, I might need to just lower the volume on that or add a volume adjuster in game. Thanks.
The game is oaky! but u need to work on the sounds, they are too loud
Wait, why can I go through the door? The desert scene is a bit monotonous.
Nice entry! It might be good to have some clearer direction for where the player should go, or at least some more interactions in the desert (enemies, puzzle, etc) between the gas stations. That can help keep the player more engaged.
@ira-baciu Thanks! I will address that soon.
@eggnisi Hmm...yea I should probably add physics to the door. Yea, I need to adjust the desert a bit. That is a good point. Thanks.
@elmos-minion Thanks! Yea, that makes sense.
This is a nice game, I enjoyed the props much. Locations could be a bit smaller, it was quite tetedious to get to the second one and I haven't managed to find the others. The sounds are nice though, that generator is a huge one concidering how loud it is :D Nice work!
@nef1k yea that is a good point. I just pushed an update based on some of the feedback. Thanks!
A good game with easy controls. The locations are large and take a long time to walk through, but the gameplay is engaging

I really liked the graphic style you chose. As for the rest — I have a few questions. Why make the location so large and empty? I’d make it smaller but more detailed — maybe add some locked doors, key searching, or even a few enemies to get in the way.
Also, in version 1.1 of the build, the cursor and the screen center are shifted slightly to the right. And yeah, not many people will download an archive just to play — I’d recommend uploading a web version next time, so more people will try it out. The download requirement tends to scare people off (mostly out of laziness).
I know it's a small thing but I really appreciated the footstep audio.
Like others mentioned, the space is very large and boring to walk. Enemies would be a large scope increase but adding a bit of platforming or puzzles would allow you to make it much smaller without making the trip to the gas stations trivial.
I wish the game worked for me but ver. 1.1 almost crushed my PC heh. I have Windows AMD Ryzen 5 4500U with Radeon Graphics
The graphics are astounding.
@garyglhf Thanks! Yea, it seems like i need to work on making the levels smaller and more interesting.
@solvenoff I was a little over ambitious on how much content and detail I could add. I will for sure try do a smaller more detailed level. I like the locked doors, keys, and enemies suggestion. I plan to make some follow up changes. Thanks.
Oh, thanks for calling that out...I hadn't noticed a shift with the cursor. I really like the web version idea.
@maimai I'm glad the sounds help. I will make some adjustments. Thanks for the feedback.
@nanaschi1984 Oh. Maybe I can optimize it a bit better.
@eugenik Thank you.
Nice idea and well done on getting it done. I personally think its a bit too ambitious. Walking in sand with nothing around isn't necessarily super engaging, you should have moved everything a bit closer together with less height difference and clear paths.
I was also taken by surprise that the doors in the gas station don't have any collision. If you don't have time to make doors work, it is obviously completely fine in a game jam to ignore them, but from a player's perspective its probably better to not have any doors at all, than have doors you can just walk through, ignoring the mesh. Its just a bit jarring.
I used the first version build and also have to say the audio is rough. Very loud and I think the generator sound never goes out of the players range, meaning you can hear it all across the map.
I know I am sounding very negative, but believe me when I say you have something on your hands here that could turn into a nice full game, I just think the scope was too large for a single dev over 3 days and what I am missing is an engaging gameplay loop or a core mechanic.
Playing at the original entry, I agree a smaller map would add to the experience. Otherwise having an auto-walk button like _Num Lock_ or make riding a vehicle through the sandy desert the main mechanic would fit the aesthetic more than walking on foot. The ending felt satisfying, short and sweet.
@b0guslaw Thank you. Yea, I think I may have gotten carried away. Those are really good points. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.
@nbumgardner For sure. Oh yea, auto walk or a vehicle or something would really help on a larger map. Thanks.
@nanaschi1984 I pushed a version with graphics options if you want to try again
version 1.1.1 Just press escape to pause and then click settings.

The level looks nice, however it's a bit too big for the amount of content, and it was hard to find the stations. Still, well done on finishing this! The idea is unusual.
I don't mind running around a large level but the walk sfx bug is a bit annoying. Sounds like it's playing on every update. I like the layout of the environment props, pretty consistent in style
Web version isn't playable for me due to the mouse aiming going wild and just spinning constantly.
I can see what you were going for with the level design. I appreciated being able to barely see the third location from the second location to give a sense of direction.
I just felt like I was lacking motivation. There's not really anything going on in the world, no interesting movement mechanics, and not really any reward for reaching the end.
@tardis2snej Yea, that's fair. Thank you!
@5h08 Oh, maybe I can walk steps optional sound effect or take a different approach on that. Thanks.
@alchemic Oh, yea kind of have to click into the window a bit...it's a little janky...I probably need to make an adjustment so that it starts out correctly.
I'm glad that made sense...I wasn't sure how many people would see the third location.
Yea, I understand. I think I may have spent too much time trying to decide what to make instead of actually making and then I ended up rushing to finish something. Lesson learned. Thank you for the feedback.
