"Ran out of time to make it good" <- what do you mean? it's awesome ! precious cargo.png Did 3/4 runs, I love the fast paced action, the loop works well, shooting feels fun, awesome job ! I would have loved to have some elevation in the level, some ground variation would feel sick I think. Graphics are sick, love the speech bubbles. Good job !
A clear idea. My best score is 1900. Killing skulls seems pointless, they have a limit that increases with leveling, and they spawn too quickly. Perhaps they should be given a gradual cooldown reduction or a longer spawn time.

I think you have done a really good job of making the game hard enough to be a real challenge, but still very fun. The fact that carrying more items makes you slower leads to an interesting risk/reward tradeoff, especially when you are grabbing items far from the mailbox.
Do you inflict more damage by running towards enemies as you throw items?

Well, I had fun playing this game)) Plus, I liked the visuals. For added dynamism, I might add some electronic music for the future.
