The playability is very good, it is exciting to play, and the music is also very impressive.
Great audio and graphics! Fun gameplay, I really like it
This is really fun! I like the aesthetics and the gameplay is easy to understand. Also good job on the music I fully sensed the spooky vibe. Great job!
This reminds of a game I used to play when I was a kid back in maybe the 90's and I am not sure what it was. The one you mentioned doesn't sound familiar. However its a sweet concept and it was well done:)
First a meta-comment: funny how above me are comments from 8 days ago, 8 hours ago, and 8 minutes ago.
And now the comment I wanted to write: you wrote "I’ll upload an HTML version after work" but it seems you never actually did it 😅 I'll need to play the native version for now.
This was great! I really liked the concept of the game and cutting down the level. It was very very satisfying. Also the speed of the lines being drawn created the right amount of tension for drawing long lines. I also liked separating the creatures into their own tiny block
Thank you so much for making a Mac build! This was a really fun little game, I enjoyed strategizing to contain the sprites. I also appreciated the Halloween theme! Great work!
I appreciate the creative take on the theme
@wendel-scardua I may or may not have completely forgotten. I've added the HTML version. Ran into a wrinkle in that the sandboxed games on LDJam don't allow you to set a cursor which is a MAJOR use-ability matter for this game, so I had to track down the computer that had my private keys so I could upload it to my own server.
@kristirose88 No problem! I got a few Macs myself (and use Linux a lot) so I know the frustration of not having binaries for my system.
@epb9000 thanks, although I ended up playing the Windows version already 😅
I played until level 15, I assume it just keeps going, right? At that point I just gave up because the sprites kept stopping all my walls 😅
I think it would be more fun if: - the walls were a bit faster, and/or, - the sprites didn't change direction all the time (like, they could almost always bounce on walls perfectly, then every once in a while change the bounce direction)
... so the player has more chances of placing walls successfully.
(but maybe the point of them being sprites instead of balls is exactly because they can move more erratically? 🤔)
PS: the level skip buttons were a nice addition :)
@wendel-scardua I combined Jezzball (which does have perfect bounces) with the herding cats that is my life. The orange fairies play tag which is adorable, but admittedly unpredictable  , purple ones wander upon impact, and the ghosts have a perfect bounce. And yes, it goes on forever till you get bored or stuck.
Or as my niece says "It just gets harder until you die, doesn't it?" - "Yes, like life" I tell her.
This is really cool! I like the Halloween feel to it as well. Great music and great art. I approve. =)
Really satisfying to play! The difficulty didn't increase much with the levels tho
@epb9000 oh, so they do have specific behaviors... I had the impression there was something going on but never connected the sprites with the movements so I just chalked it up as being purely random 😅
What I was expecting when I saw this game was a player character that can be controlled and paints the terrain, but this is something different and I like it. My only issue is that sometimes the sprites behave unpredictably, other than that, it's an awesome game.
