Interesting concept. Wish there'd been better information though; I hadn't the foggiest idea what I was doing at first, and the lack of details on health and statistics meant you'd sometimes put down a character in a terrible place. Yes, I didn't put the bear in front the first time... No, it didn't end well.

Interesting game! But it was a bit boring to wait all out the wawes after setting all the heroes, not much space to play around, but still very cool!

I liked the graphics and the idea but I didn't think the game offered much in terms of options in the combat and seemed unclear of what character to place where. I spent the whole game randomly placing pieces and watching it do it's thing.

Very interesting, but the plush toy can not be withdrawn after the arrangement, make me more uncomfortable, and if it is better to support two players, while controlling the toy, while controlling the small soldier, the overall completion is very high, like your game mechanism, especially the design of climbing the floor

The game was very fun, the experience was terrible. I enjoyed the strategy and playing around with team compositions. The theming with the kids toys is cute and inspired. I especially liked building out my army with the choices at the end of each level.

Unfortunately I had no idea what was happening for the entire first level. I didn't understand that the enemies would be moving upward or that I was trying to protect the king at the top. The descriptions that mentioned "at the end of combat" I thought would only trigger once per level. I think the more apt term would be "after each turn." I thought none of the UI was working because the buttons weren't doing anything. The problem being that it was all drag and drop which was not made apparent by the UI. Additionally, none of the actual buttons in the game seemed like buttons since there was no "hover" or "pressed" states, they just looked like regular text. It was cool to see new units as options to expand the roster, but it wasn't communicated at all what those units would DO until after you chose them.

Also, the Four Horsemen absolutely dumpstered on the last level. Overall so much fun, but a very steep learning curve.

I liked the game's graphics, the sound is quite pleasant, at first I didn't understand what to do, but after the soldiers started beating my king I generally understood what the point was, I wasn't particularly imbued with nostalgia because we all grew up in different conditions, but it's still a good game for 48 hours!!!

A good idea, but a weak implementation of the gameplay

Overall a very great game! The art style and game design was very well done and I enjoyed playing it. There was a few things that I didn't understand right away like the objective of the game and the stats of the characters but great work!

@iwant-pizza Could you please tell me more about the weak gameplay implementation is in your opinion, did you manage to pass all 4 levels?

iustinian 2024-10-09 07:55

I really liked the game. The Nostalgia feeling it gave me was nice. Got some problems understanding it at first but it was okay

iwant-pizza 2024-10-09 09:08

@heretic So, there is a tavern defense with a visible admixture of roguelike, if I were you, I would remove the levels for the sake of the arcade, the number of our bishops and their diversity is also important (and there are not many of them there), another incomprehensible system of scoring points for purchase, as I understood, they constantly give 3 and this is quite scarce and it does not give the player the full realization of his ideas, well, the most obvious thing is the same card And yes, I passed all 4 levels and made my entire team go through them.

Really fun turn-based strategy game that remind me of old flash games, with great art too!

Overall, I really enjoyed my play-through of this game. I liked the concept of little toys battling against each other and I think it suits the theme really well. I was confused at first in terms of the best play strategy, but I totally get that there wasn't time to make a tutorial. :) I would have loved to have seen more toy characters, too. But overall, great job!! :)

Got it rather quickly and enjoyed it! The UI could use some visual polish obviously (especially tooltips - transparent background sometimes overlapped with units on the level, making things hard to read), but the elements themselves were laid out quite sensibly - and over time everything was clear to me. I had fun making the decisions about unit placement. Good job!

Was really fun to strategize around the different toy abilities! Lovely art too, really selling the kid toy aesthetic.

wenyu-bao 2024-10-12 12:17

The turn-based gameplay is really fun! Adding sound effects to the actions was a great touch! Though, there were some pieces that I didn’t get to use even by the end.

indie-game-academy 2024-10-12 20:57

Very fun use of the theme!

fractal 2024-10-18 18:58

Very interesting strategy, and good choice of abilities! Unfortunately it keeps freezing towards the end of the second level, so I couldn’t see all of it :( Would be great if you could fix it, I would definitely play it again!

pachino55 2024-10-26 03:00

Cool game! Liked the concept and the strategy
