You cam up with interesting mechanic, nice little game. A few thoughts: - it is not always clear what the radius around foxes and scarecrows. - A part where there are a lot of balloons seems frustrating instead of challenging, because you can just pop the balloons and thats all.

The sound effects are pretty funny. The windows binary works on linux via wine btw, a web export would also be great.

Took me way too long before I realised the scarecrow was scary the noots, now all I hear is noot.

N00ts distress animation and sound effect is pure gold. 10/10

noot!

vinogradovivan 2024-10-08 14:09

The noot meme references and animations are fun. Was trying to guess how small should a gap be for CoinCoin to fit in. That's an interesting concept.

Fun animations and sound effects <3 Cool mechanics I enjoyed it! Thanks for your submission has a great time :D

overlix 2024-10-08 16:37

the idea is very good, the game works and is very fun, but it lacks polish, a noot noot seems to have gone into the wall (judging by the noise I heard, and I could not finish the game). Aim a little smaller in map size to focus more on the ux

noah-mazard 2024-10-08 19:10

Very fun sound design ! I like the idea but the map is very big with a lot of empty spot. Also at some spot it's not very clear what is fearing the coincoin. But except that, cool game !

very funny sound effects I like it

janinna21 2024-10-09 11:59

I found the sound effects pretty funny and really liked the mechanics. 😄🎃 I appreciate the balance of the levels. It's an interesting game overall!

LOOKING COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@gamayun-games : The area around the duck is supposed to show the "scare hitbox", I suppose it's not visible enough. Thanks for the feedbacks !

@overlix : Yeah we had some troubles with the map size but couldn't change it considering the time we had left xD Thank you for your advice !

A very interesting idea of the game, these ducks are just wonderful) I liked the sound effects and animations.

alxje 2024-10-10 05:39

The animation of the ducks is really hilarious and funny! The core game mechanics are simple yet inspiring, which makes the game enjoyable. However, I did have some trouble with the AI behavior—it felt a bit too random at times. In some situations, I had to try multiple times just to get one duck over the green glass, which could be frustrating.

Other than that, this is very impressive for a game jam project. Great work overall!

I got side tracked with some exploring so it took a little longer than it probably should have, but I got them all safe!

The gameplay seems simple, but I'm sure the development was far from easy. This game seems like it could have plenty of weird edge cases that you have to handle carefully, or else it could be impossible to complete. For example: - When a zone only needs 1 more duck, if 2 ducks walk into it on the same frame, what would happen? - If a duck goes back to idle state within the scare distance of a scarecrow, could I collect that duck and bring it out?

I didn't have any problems like this, the game played perfectly for me. I'm sure that was no accident, and that you guys were careful to make sure these edge cases were handled well.

And I really liked that the ducks used smart pathfinding rather than trying to move straight towards me, a great quality-of-life feature! Thanks for making this!
