Got this error: ``` Uh oh! If you're seeing this error, it means I can't find your index.html file.

This usually means you created your .zip file by zipping the entire folder, and index.html is somewhere like MyGame/index.html. If you recreate your .zip with index.html file in the root, this error should go away.

Great concept! Presents a fun challenge and fun gameplay. Only problem would be the exit button doesnt seem to work and that you can get stuck on the side of a platform and cant move unless you fall.

Good stuff! Art was cool. Concept was unique. My only feedback is that there should be an incentive to use other combo's other than the easiest one to progress (up, down, right right)

Love the tactile-based input spawning blended with a unique art style the game was sick! Music helped to set a great mood so overall welldone!

Mothman earthbending is now canon, and I love it! @raees my go-to combo was the (up, right, down, left) crush, which let me get super far. It's simultaneously the best and most stressful feeling ever when you have a huge fall and manage to barely save yourself literally at the bottom of the screen. Nice work! Mothman.PNG I N . T H E . @calebsnotonfire YEAH the exit button has proved to be harder than a boss battle for some odd reason... currently we are working on a fix :D

cait15 2024-04-16 17:23

@raees GLAD YOU LIKE IT, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK

cait15 2024-04-16 17:24

@footlettuce what if we made mothius fire bend too ?

footlettuce 2024-04-16 17:28

@cait15 The Avamoth, mothster of all four elemoths.

Great story

myceliummushroom 2024-04-17 16:10

love it - would love to know the concept behind the great MOTHIUS - and lets not forget the awesome music, great job w that!

Love the artstyle of this game, really nice vibe and some really unique gameplay that I haven't seen much of. Overall great game!

jack-devlin 2024-04-17 16:44

@myceliummushroom I'll be so honest with you we kinda took the gameplay inspiration from hollow knight and cult of the lamb first. Mothious somehow spawned out of nowhere and made it into the final project cause we loved him

An interesting twist on the classic platformer genre. Overall I loved it. Some feedback for improvement:

The player gets stuck against any walls and there is no leeway for steps. For the "-_--" block you get stuck trying to walk over it.

There is no visual indication of arrow keys hit or progress along any combos. I can't tell where I went wrong on some combinations.

The nature of dropping the platforms at your feet means it is necessary to type the combos mid-air. This also means there is no distinction between the platforms, as the easiest combo will still put a block under your feet. I'm not sure how this could be improved, but I could suggest dropping the platforms further away so they become a target, or have shapes with a wider variety and clear pros and cons to choosing them.

Several times I have tried jumping with "W" instead of spacebar, just as a habit from other keyboard-only games. The scrolling of the pacing feels very strict. At times it is too fast and I find myself panicking, and other times too slow so I have to wait for my next jump.

I hope this helps you improve the game and improve as a developer. Good luck!

The game is really cool, it is a bit tough at the start and learning the different platform spawning keys but it is a very good game. The sound effects are really nice love them.

bex2499 2024-04-18 16:39

Really Cool game idea! i really struggled with the spawning platforms but that is a skill issue on my part. if i could change one thing it would be some kind of progress bar so i know if im actually getting anywhere and to maybe slow things down a little as the learning curve is quite steep and for those of us who are not helldivers the key input takes some getting used to. otherwise i think you guys did a really good job so well done!

Honestly is such a cute game, the music is so comfy and as deathly afraid as i am of moths, I LOVE THIS LIL MOTH GUY MAN HES SO CUTE!!! Anyway overall sucha cute game and even though my fingers aint fast enough to get very far (bc i am a straight girl sadge) i'm defo gonna try to get better <3

jack-devlin 2024-04-20 15:20

@esterdell Thanks a ton for the feedback and I do agree with you it would have been nice to implement the progress mechanic for the codes and we'll keep it in mind for the future. I also understand what you mean by the camera being both too slow and too fast and next time we'll keep make sure to have a better control on the cameras speed next time. The platform spawning underneath the player is a tricky problem to figure out but on a surface level maybe have the player place the platforms in space using the mouse/WASD to move it that has a lot of ramifications on multiple levels of balance but as a spitball that's the first thing that comes to mind.

jack-devlin 2024-04-20 15:23

@bex2499 Thanks and yea I get what you mean with slowing things down. We didn't really expect the game to be so difficult when we concepted it and when we found it during testing we didn't exactly have time to fix it.

pattedecanaard 2024-04-20 15:59

Nice game, the mechanic of summoning platforms is very interesting ! I would suggest using icons for directions instead of spelling them out. Also, since the game is mostly played with the keyboard, maybe having a keyboard key for restarting would be useful, instead of having to click with the mouse :) I really liked the design of the player's character and the music sounds very good. Well done !
