I like the idea behind this game, and it was definitely fun summoning armies and getting those upgrades. I did struggle a little to understand what was going on with the battles and what the tiles were. Given more time some tooltip pop-ups I feel would resolve a lot of this. But given a weekend you have done amazing work! Well done.
Really love the art! I get stuck in what I assume is the tutorial, after putting the dice into the pointed slot, i can't seem to get past the arrow to click into the world (seems the skeleton already appeared?). I'm on windows running the exe. dicing-with-skeletons.png
I really liked this, the loop was cool defending while trying to spread your reach and upgrade your dice and slots. The visuals were clean and in a nice style also. It was definitely tough to understand what to do at the start, even with the tutorial elements, but you figure it out. It could be cool if dice auto-filled the highest slots possible, unless there was ever a reason why you wouldn't want to do so? I has a couple instances where a unit wasn't unselected correctly when I clicked a new one and it led to lots of the map being highlighted green when I knew I could only get 2 squares-ish. And unfortunately the game crashes before I got to seige the base :( an enemy attacked my units and when clicking Resolve it shut down with 'Failed to launch JVM'.
I experienced some bugs with dead units not disappearing which made it a bit hard to keep track of what units were alive and where the enemies were. It also felt a bit strange when small groups of enemies with a strength of 5 and still kill my 10+ strength army, but maybe I misunderstood how the rules worked. Either way I had fun and was able to win in the end :smile:
Cool game, although not very challenging, also I managed to defeat the castle with an army of power 4, not sure if that's intended XD
@tess-winlock that's an unexpected one! Thanks for the screenshot, we'll take a look :thumbsup:
@shardykins yep there's still a selection glitch occasionally and I think the game crash must have been the unintentional 'ghost army' (with no units) that we've seen before... - thanks for your feedback!
@sodaro yes the battle scoring does also depend on unit types, calculating relative strengths. We need to make that more clear - the battle triangle example of:
* (A) stronger against (B) * (B) stronger against (C) * (C) stronger against (A)
Not bad. The gameplay is good. Would be smoother if the transition after enemy round to my round, for example, auto rolling after enemy round (enemy animation finishes).
Great idea implemented very well
dicy adventure... and summonging goblins! like the implementation and wonder if there are more variations in terms of summonging types and how they react to enemies. Its a solid entry and good job!
