@pupirka Thank you, did exactly that :)
thank you for the itch page .. I could play and had a good time spawning the chickens .. but the next incantation is a bit much ... where does the eye come from?! Also those bloody chickens move way too fast to grab some of them feathers. But I had a good time. Like the consitency of the art style and love the drop/take items and place them at different spots .. well made game!
I must say, I was a bit confused what to do at first, but once I figured it out by reading the book, it was actually relatively fun trying the different combinations and seeing what happened. The art style, while very simple, is consistent and the black and white aesthetic really adds to the atmosphere. Despite a lack of physical detail, the game actually feels quite immersive and sticks very closely to the theme!
Not sure if there is a way to win, but I summoned the last guy (A big worm thing) and it killed me XD
Really strong use of the theme, and the progression through the more complex summonings was satisfying. I also really like the stylized black and white art style.
Nice work!
The consistency and minimalism of the art style actually made it feel really high quality! Nice work!
This is neat! I liked being able to figure out what to do without the instructions being spoon-fed. The actual mechanics are simple once understood and it was satisfying to progress. I kept making chickens and checking the book after each one expecting it to change and in the process had a chicken drop a feather, which immediately made me realize there must be more rituals and I pressed some buttons and got the page to change. I also liked that the rituals weren't exactly in order, it rewards the player for paying attention. I wish there was some audio! Even just a quiet tune in the back and simple sounds for picking things up, processing them, and the ritual would have added a lot. Overall great job!
I loved this! It's such a simple idea, but you managed to keep it from becoming too repetitive with the "combat" sections.
I got lucky in my first play through by pretty much summoning everything in the most convenient order. I can see why some people would get lost/confused though. This game probably will get frustrating very fast if you get stuck, so maybe adding hints would be a good addition even if it makes the game easier.
