interesting idea, although the controls could be a little bit smoother
Great job getting a game made :) its cute
Cute! I like that you also decided to have a cook as the main character (we also did in our game). The idea of collecting recipes before knowing what to collect and summon is interesting and makes for a good puzzle. Unfortunately, the movement is a bit wonky and makes it hard to control the character. Not sure if this is on purpose, but I did not really find a way to control it well.
Cute game, not too bad turn for the theme. Puzzle ideas are simple but efficient :)
Cute graphics, the moving was weird in the first seconds but I got used to it.
The game is cute, I like the art style. TO improve it, I would make some of the controls smoother, specifically the music. I also noticed one of the audio clips is a stock effect, would be nice to see original audio, but still works for what you made. Cute game overall, well done :)
Cute game, it took me a while to understand the basics but it was really nice in the end! good job!
cute game, I especially enjoyed the lil goblin being summoned to bring you your craftables.
A delightful snack of a game - well done! The graphics fit the mood well, and the overall execution is solid. The controls were a little clunky, but they worked fine for a jam game, and I was able to complete all the required tasks without trouble once I figured out what did what. Having the little helper goblin get summoned to deliver the item was a fun touch - I knew it was going to happen based on the description but it was still a little moment of surprise when he came up.
Job well done!
(as before) cute game, also took me a while to figure stuff out but when I did, it was a good challenge to complete it, well done.
Though I have two pain points: 1. the music stopped in the level once it finished, would have loved to listen to it again, so maybe just restart it once it finishes 2. I had to restart a level and already knew the recipe, collected the ingredients and realized I need the recipe to actually craft it, but when I collected it, it didn't craft the item and I had to restart, although the recipe I collected was correct. Maybe check if there is already the recipe in the stack if you collect it and make it available to build / cook
Besides these two points everything was fine and I had a lot of fun
I like the silly Mr.Kobi helping, really cute. I was surprised to read you both didn't have any experience making games, really impressive for your first game. I hope you continue making games in the future, would love to see your progress :DD
Great puzzles! Only problem was the controls
nice puzzle game! great job
I enjoyed playing it! It was pretty tricky, but the characters were pretty cute, and it was a unique concept! My only real gripe was how the controls felt, since it seemed suuper odd. Solid entry, good work! ^^
Why is this game on DANGER?
It is very cool!
Some things need to be polished: Walking with the character is strange, the animation of the helper that brings the items is unnecessary and makes the game lose its dynamics. But the idea is very good. I suggest you develop it and make it something bigger.
Congratulations for the game!
First of all the puzzles themselves were pretty well designed and they were fairly challenging. The control of movement felt weird and I wasn't a fan of how it all worked. The graphics also felt a little uneven, but I liked the character sprites. I also liked the music. It gave the game a nice chill mood. Overall pretty nice puzzle game.
Good puzzle game with some fun mechanics. I enjoyed thinking through the possible ways forward by considering the order in which I would have to take the gems. There were a good number of levels and they were able to explore the use of all of the mechanics pretty well. Nice work!
I do have a lot of notes though, especially for useability - Does the game really need separate keys for "pick up" and "use"? I don't think there is any situation where you're able to do both at the same time. (More on that later.) - E and F are not particularly sensible keys to use in this case. Space would make much more sense unless you're optimizing your user experience for a person with no left hand or right thumb. - Putting your Restart key (with no confirmation menu) right between those two use keys is just asking for people to hit it accidentally. I'm astonished I never made that mistake during my playthrough. - The movement feels a bit clunky. You should make the player character snap to its new tile more quickly. Also, if you press one direction, the player is prevented from moving perpendicular to that direction for a certain amount of time. - I know it's not always easy to implement, but an undo button does wonders to improve your game's playability. Any game without one where it's also possible to get yourself into a unwinnable position makes the player feel unwilling to experiment since any wrong move could force them to redo several dozen moves. An example of this: I figured out the solution to the color-mixing level pretty quickly, but actually executing it took me five tries after that because I kept making one single mistake. (Oops, I forgot I have to pick up blue first when mixing colors. Oops, I forgot to pick up the recipe before mixing the colors. Oops, I put the second bridge on the wrong river by mistake. Oops, I forgot to pick up the recipe again.) - Having to wait for the goblin thing every time I use an item is clunky and adds to the annoyance of restarting the level. - The recipe book is a bit annoying to have to constantly reference, especially since it blocks most of the puzzle while you're looking at it. I think it would be better to have an always-visible UI element that shows all of the recipes. - Why am I unable to craft things until I get the recipe book? I didn't bother to pick it up one time since I had written down all of the recipes on a piece of paper. Then I crafted a bomb and nothing happened. Even picking up the recipe book would cause the bomb to become crafted.
This puzzle had a pretty nasty catch. I figured I could just pick up the blue gem once I had crafted the key to get it out of the way. The game never makes it clear that you cannot pick up a gem while holding an item.
