I'll gonna travel with all my flowerpots! Cool idea, but controls are kinda clanky, could be much better without camera clamp with item in hands. Also, mouse sensitivity is too high, even with fully dumped dpi it's too much.

Interesting idea! Played this 4 times, first time I didn't understand the controls ( the mouse was locked while things in hand as well as the suitcase was hard to open / close / move, also didn't know I could leave the room ), the other 3 times I tried to get as many things in the suitcase as I could but it blew open 2 times so on my 3rd and 4th time got to finish the game, but it didn't really matter what I took with me, I just needed to leave with my suitcase.

Overall fun experience, if you polished it more I am sure it could be a nice little game on steam :D

What I would change in it:

Make it so you don't need to leave the house with your suitcase, make it a stationary thing in the middle of some room that you can't move. When the timer ends you get scored on how many things you got inside the suitcase and the importance of the items. Items could be randomly scattered across a house :D. I am thinking of something similar to 60 seconds.

Anyways good job and good luck with your ratings! :D

Really fun and interesting game, I liked the fact if you put too much stuff or too big of items in the suitcase it would explode them everywhere, I got really excited when I saw I could pick up a couch and put it in there just to see it fling out of the suitcase it was so funny, I would have liked to see more items you could put in the suitcase though, it seemed a little empty and all you could really put in the suitcase were books and flower pots, maybe add some food in the fridge or clothes in the clothes and just little things like that, but I really enjoyed playing this game! Good job!

Fun graphics! I first tried to stuff the suitcase until it kaboomed on me twice, then I tried to figure out how to leave the apartment, which is a challenge in itself. You could improve the game with a score mechanic as I seem to win whether I take an empty suitcase out or one full to the rim

There's a lot of nice details in this game (the explosion when you place too many items in the suitcase, the sound effects upon opening cupboards and etc), I just wish the controls were a bit more precise, especially in relation to picking up vs opening the suitcase.

cool game and nice style! the floatiness of the controls was a little difficult

fannevada 2023-10-10 11:06

I like the atmosphere with the music! I would have liked to have more items to put in the suitcase and maybe a score. overall I had a good time :)

Hey there! First of all, congratulations on a complete game! I had fun with the silliness of adding whatever I wanted to the suitcase (potted plants? sure! furniture? you bet!). The mouse sensitivity was a bit high for me, so consider adding a simple slider to scale that in the future, even on the start screen!

The suitcase blowing up confused me at first, because it seemed to be random. Then I understood that it showed signs of bursting as I added more items -- that was smart feedback! I think you could take this idea even further. By adding some sort of scoring, and rewarding more points for the kinds of objects, I would be motivated to find the "right" things to pack.

But anyway, for a jam game, this had the right mix of game and silly for it to be pretty fun! :D

Thank you for all your feedback so far. I agree with most suggestions :) I couldn't spend more time on the project, but it was planned to have more items and also an object related score system. Basically also related to the setting e.g. your trip to london would bring you more points, if you put inside an umbrella, rain coat or things related to london in your appartment. In the future I might work on it more to a fully fleged game :)

I love voxel graphics in this game! The game is simple, attractive and fun. An interesting implementation of the theme of limited space. Great job, man!

I can't play the game as it's only available as a zip which I automatically (and usually correctly) guess is a windows build which I can't play. But as you even wrote a post about still needing ratings DESPITE having given about 140 yourself (that I unfortunately cannot give for beforementioned reasons), I'd like to give you advice. First of all, this game page is absolutely boring. You don't provide screenshots, videos or anything at all to make visitors get interested in your game. Why would I download it? Certainly not for a short and uninteresting instructional text that is followed by a way longer list of credits and software used. Post screenshots. Show gameplay. Deliver something that makes me want to play what you worked so hard on. Next, I see you used Unity. That's great, because it's a box of tools. Utilize them! Why only provide a (presumed) Windows build when Unity lets you easily build for Linux and Mac systems too? Sure, the biggest part of players run Windows, but not all by far. It is no extra work, so just supply us. We would like to rate you, please let us. Which brings me to the next big point: Why no web build? Unity can do that easily. Obviously, web builds have certain limitations as of rendering and complexity, but from the description I presume it's a pure voxel graphics game which I suppose doesn't rely on high end rendering features. So this game can very likely made to run smoothly in WebGL. Why WebGL you may ask? Easy: it runs easily on most OS and I don't need to download some sketchy zip. I can comfortably just start the game in my browser with no work included. Web builds are my favourite for jams and I can always fit another web game in my schedule. A download, not so much. Last, though neither necessary nor actually an influence on reviews: You may want to put your game (especially a web build) up on itch.io. Players there may not necessary leave a review, but it may get you total number of players up, which is just good for your wellbeing to know someone actually enjoys your work. Obviously, you don't have to listen to any of this. But keep it in mind for your next jam, maybe it helps :)

Nice graphics and idea! At first time game make me little nervous with this timer :)

lincolnsalles 2023-10-17 23:44

The game is actually cool, the apartment is bigger than I imagined, picking up objects is fun for a while, after walking around and picking up some things it gets boring, but the experience is cool. I really don't understand why you didn't put images of the game on your page or rather, why you didn't make a gif. When I was walking I imagined a gif picking up the objects and walking, it would look great on the page. I completely agree with @laserpanzerwal and I even said the same thing as him in his post on the main page. I even learned a lot here from you in this sense. Because I saw and learned that it is necessary to play and evaluate as many games as possible to be evaluated, but I learned here that we also cannot underestimate the fact that we need to have a page with images and the best that we can to attract attention and the best: an html5 version if possible.

nuin 2023-10-18 17:50

I put a chair in my suitcase and it exploded so I left with just a flower pot

Btw to get more ratings you need to leave comments on the games you rate

satyre 2023-10-19 17:01

Thanks everyone for the valuable feedback.

I agree about the facts to improve the page layout, using more build types, more information and images for the page, to give a better overview as well as giving textual feedback to games played.

This time I just wanted to participate after a long time, and didn't had much time left for improvements :D But keeping the feedback in mind for future entries for sure :)

The idea is really fun! The art style and music are cool too! After I won it would be funny to have some info or short story, about objects you took and what happened with them. Would add to re-playability of the game, since player would like to know different ending. Anyway, good job with the game. Also, with so much Rantings Given you deserves way more ranting yourself!
