Very nice and clean looking!
Really clean graphics and I liked the tutorial. Smooth gameplay but only gripe I have with this that my brain hurts now from trying to think words.
I love how everything feels, the sound, art, and squishing is very satisfying.
Personally the worst part of the experience is the quests, this is mostly because I dont know any of the possible answers without looking them up which I feel makes it less fun. Perhaps if there was a thing that showed all the possible answers (maybe a scrapbook but that would take a lot of time) it would help people like me experience the game.
Further I feel as if I have too much freedom with word choice, scrabble limits this by making you only useletter you own but that would be hard in something like this. I feel some more direction would help alleviate this feeling like if say five words were cycling every few seconds at the top of the screen and if you made the word while it was up there you got double points. Just something to make me want to continue to play the game.
I really think this game is good, but it's hard for me to keep playing because there is no short term goal for me to work towards.
Great game overall! My only complaint is that it seems to lag out after a few minutes of playing on my system. I'm not at all familiar with the engine you used to make this, but maybe there are some memory leaks or something?
I can't expect you to test on every system though, it's a game jam. Very fun game!
Very creative idea, another proof that it doesn't take much to make a good game! I admit honestly, it was difficult to understand the rules, but the interest to solve the riddle in conjunction with a nice visuals, did their job.
Super cool UI and aesthetic -- very clean and minimalistic, with some very good animations! Really enjoyed the overall feel of the game. I admit that it took me reading the rules like 3 times to figure out what's going on, but afterwards I made some pretty big words. I never tried thinking about words where you can basically chop off the end and still have it be a word before :D -- cool idea!
Such a clean game. Definitely the most polished thing I've seen from this jam and it is from a compo game too! My high score is 7568, which I got mostly from spamming "junkyard". Some of these quests are so hard, I don't know gen 5 pokemon. Really fun game, super well done man.
I really gave my best. I finally understood the rules after reading it a second time. But probably because I'm not native english it was really hard to find words. And the quest were even more hard without google.
Clever interpretation of the theme ;).
The game looks really good. And congratz by making it with LOVE (and maybe love) in two days !
Good job !
Your animation polish is fantastic. I've been trying to figure out how to get such a smooth bouncing curve, but have never succeeded. I hope your game gets enough ratings in time, it's a great game.
Hmm not bad not bad ,even better than many puzzle games
Love the graphics, the game is very clean! Gameplay wise, really enjoyed it. Even being pretty bad at word games. As a suggestion, if you want to keep the fast pacing of the game all throughout the game: maybe give the player limited time to choose a card on level up, otherwise, players can abuse the pause to think about current quests they may have.
Overall, great game with a nice take on the theme! Great job!
The feel and looks are amazing, and sound effects complement them well.
I did not really understand all the mechanics (why can I type some letters and can't others sometimes? In the picture below, I was going for "zinc", which has no repeat letters as per the rules, but it's stopping me at the 2nd letter already) Screenshot 2023-10-20 100610.png
It's pretty hard for a non-native speaker (probably a feature, not a bug), I can't come up with words under time pressure.
I would sometimes try to write a whole word, but then it doesn't accept some letters in the middle and I end up with something I did not intend on the screen.
Never managed to detonate the spaces, don't know how that was supposed to work.
For the theme, it seems like I actually have unlimited space (but limited "spaces", heh).
