The gameplay lacked some polish, but the backstory video was really fun
The art is impeccable. :)
I never did like arrow keys for isometric, but the music is bopping! I think it could have been improved quite a bit, and if you were to make it mouse-movement-capable, I think you've got an interesting little game on your hands!
Keys on isometric is never fun for me. Art and humor was what this has going for it. Gameplay was not fun. Sucks because the art style has charm! Keep on improving!
Your voice sounds great~ Art sytle great~ WASD in Iso map is confusing at first couple of times. Maybe add some mechanics like butcher can only go two-way, boss only goes in certain ways, like chess? Keep going man~
mouse wouldve been nicer than wasd but the art is nice
I had a hard time trying to move, I think for this kind of gameplay a mouse button with highlited tiles works better
It looks like you had a fun time thinking about the bacstory and your chara design, it's pretty cool !
great back story and general vibe. confusing at first when i started playing but pleased to report i did deliver the final blow in the end!
I didn’t immediately understand how to play, but then I got stuck for about 20 minutes. Amazing art and a cool concept!!
I enjoyed that the backstory and the art has some personality. The gameplay felt too easy and the game was over in literally like 10 seconds.
Finally, I helped Derek to achiave his goal
This is the most hilarious game if seen so far. Very cool! I very much enjoyed the music as well.
As others have pointed out, it need some polishing. Firstly, is there supposed to be audio in the backstory video? Cause I didn't hear any. The game mechanics need more explanations. I didn't really get, what the red areas are doing, where the line of fire is that you've written about, why The Butcher is getting teleported away, or what the losing condition is. Also I think that WASD controlls don't match well with the isometric perspective.
I hope you find the time to continue working on your game!
Okay I imagine the backstory video had narration of some sort playing over it but good god was there something hilarious about slowly and silently zooming in on these characters. I couldn't help but laugh.
The teleporting to The Butcher feature was neat. Added a bit of strategy though at first I wasn't sure if The Butcher was an enemy or not. Reading the description cleared that right up tho.
Derek delivered the final blow, the final blow was delivered. Nice take on the theme and gameplay was simple enough to understand without the backstory, which I watched after the game!
Looks fun, but i want to see that fire attacks, or ho do you call it a bit predictable, so i have at least illusion of control
Nice music and art! However the gameplay deserved a bit more explanation: I did not understand how I am supposed to take damage. The butcher was dope tho
