Well done! Long walk to town. You did an excellent job. Never did find the guy to bring the grain to

a1stakesauce 2023-05-02 02:23

I really like the characters. They are haunting and adorable at the same time. Do they have a name? The lore and story really added to the mood category.

quinnster 2023-05-02 02:25

Cool visuals and awesome characters! The camera was a little motion sickening, and I did end up getting rather bored walking down the long roads without much there, but the game looked and felt awesome!

xbcw 2023-05-02 02:32

I mostly just wandered around lost. I loved how big and open the world felt. I would play a game in this world.

python-b5 2023-05-02 02:36

Really enjoyed this one! The music and graphics were great and set a nice vibe. Very relaxing.

I noticed you can pick up the wheat from the first NPC a second time at the end of the game, but it's not a big deal and the ending still worked properly.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 09:43

@beebster-games Thanks, I did actually make the quest text repeatable so that if you forget, you can get the directions again. Although I am aware of how unclear it is, especially the second one after you deliver the wheat.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 09:45

@a1stakesauce Thank you, I did kinda want that unusual look to the characters especially the big ones. I haven't thought of a name for them.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 09:46

@quinnster Thanks, but I am sorry about the camera.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 09:48

@xbcw Getting lost seems to be a recurring theme XD. But I'm glad that you enjoyed the world, that was certainly my main focus, and main time consumer in the jam.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 09:53

@python-b5 Thanks, this has actually been one of my favorite jam yet. just crafting what I love out of the world.

And I to found this bug at the end, and I know exactly how to fix it. But at the time I had less than 2 hours left and had other priorities.

d0vid 2023-05-02 11:44

Loved the openness of the world, even though it's hard not to get lost  The characters were cute, especially their voice and the music was lovely !

d3kryption 2023-05-02 12:13

Played this game today!

Firstly, I LOVE THE GRAPHICS The little guys are so adorable! :D

The music is perfect with the grass :D Just walking down the path is so utterly peaceful. I really like it.

I am not however a fan of the camera controls :( that feels a bit odd.

I also got stuck in the town in the construction part and can't get out lol

I restarted and cracked on. I managed to do the cycle! Hay -> town -> king -> miner :D

nice job! Its a cracking chill game :)

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 13:26

@d0vid Thank you for playing.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 13:26

@d3kryption Glad you liked it

bassilij 2023-05-02 17:30

A big world with simple mechanics, I really like it!) A very large space for further creativity and development of the project.)

stellarnightmare 2023-05-02 19:13

@bassilij Thank you. I am still debating whether or not I will actually continue it.

yoddaa 2023-05-03 15:32

I love this one, very peaceful and relaxing walk I had the purple letter very good open world game. very good concept and game.

the-martijn 2023-05-03 18:20

Relaxing game. Liked the idea. The guys reminded me of Star Wars :D

A few tips/bugs: - The trees had no collision - I got stuck in the construction site, but I couldn't jump. - Maybe place the quest on screen all the time? Than you know what to do.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-03 20:23

@yoddaa Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-03 20:25

@the-martijn I was waiting for the star wars comment XD and I was aware of the whole construction site thing and the trees not having collision. but having the quest on screen is actually something I could have had very easily, considering how I did the quests. I just didn't think of it in the rush to complete the game.

the-martijn 2023-05-03 20:28

@the-martijn I know that rush-feeling, hahaha. there is never enough time :D

meta-link 2023-05-04 10:16

Incredible jam game. I loved wandering in this peaceful, well crafted world. Good job

stellarnightmare 2023-05-04 10:19

@meta-link Thank you.

riley9 2023-05-04 18:52

wonderful game!! i loved the melancholic layer that i felt while i was delivering the grain and the letters. there's definitely something wrong in this land but i guess we won't find out right now :')

stellarnightmare 2023-05-04 19:23

@riley9 Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it and were interested enough to actually talk to NPC's XD

francoisgoret 2023-05-05 13:33

Very beautiful ambiance with good models, map, lighting and sounds. Good job of doing all this model and the game !

jk5000 2023-05-05 14:43

The game looks and sounds really great. I overall like the atmosphere. I did never get much of the story and had very little idea where I was suppose to do, were to go, and who to talk with. But anyway it still feels like and interesting little game.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-05 19:52

@francoisgoret thank you I did spend more time than I should have making the art for the game.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-05 19:53

@jk5000 I'm glad you liked the atmosphere. I did try make the world more grounded by making the NPCs give you directions. But in hindsight I would have done it differently.

alpalcalad 2023-05-05 21:33

Love the atmosphere of the game and its rly pretty. It was very annoying when the pause menu didnt save my position but not a major major issue. Also if you were to continue the game giving an intro or something in game when you start could help ground what you're doing a bit more. Other than that nice game :P

emaigualmc2-art 2023-05-06 03:05

Very good work! More considering that it was a solo work xD, the design of the characters seemed very interesting and together with the atmosphere and the music, it made me feel that there is a whole fantastic world behind it. You have a very large map where many more can enter, I would like to see it more polished and full of stories jeje! Congratulations!

sylf 2023-05-06 20:39

It is super cozy game! But we had a Midsommar movie vibes, so it was scary sometimes :D

stellarnightmare 2023-05-06 20:43

@sylf thanks for playing it. I hope you enjoyed it despite it's simplicity.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-06 20:44

@emaigualmc2-art Thank you. I actually liked the world in this game the most out of my games, and I might continue it.

stellarnightmare 2023-05-06 20:45

@alpalcalad Thanks the esc thing was more just as a return to menu not a pause. But I would really have liked an intro.

studiocherno 2023-05-08 04:47

Hey @stellarnightmare

I liked your game, it was a pretty, immersive world! I liked the character design and the audio was cute!

Some feedback:

- I don't think you are normalizing your input, holding A and W moves the character faster than W would - I got stuck in the first villages construction building and couldn't get out because there is no jumping - When getting to the second village I walked to the quest NPC and walked past him accidently without reading the message, as I couldn't read what he said again, I had to restart - This is a personal preference but in my opinion, I think the camera should rotate around the player not an arbitrary point above and behind the player, because having created a cute character like that it would be great to see him!

Overall great and immersive game, and the art style definitely has some potential!

-Tim

stellarnightmare 2023-05-08 10:28

@studiocherno Thank you for playing my game. I'm glad you enjoyed it. But with the issues it was mostly just because I suck at coding. And I was just trying to finish everything on my own with 12 hours of the jam missed.

stevie257 2023-05-16 22:47

The visual effects in this game are breathtaking. From dazzling spell animations to realistic weather effects, the graphics add an extra layer of excitement

stellarnightmare 2023-05-17 11:36
