I liked the simple graphics, and the fact that the character became flat when moving sideways! It added to the movements feeling quite nice. The route following thing was fun too. Apart from that I think I didn't really understand the mail checking mechanic, overall I had much higher scores when I never checked the mails... Maybe it should be instantaneous? Maybe I didn't understand how to properly use it. Would be a different game but maybe it would've been fun to have a system where the player can actually check the mail themself, while moving and trying to follow the roads! Anyways thanks for the game, and congrats on finishing it :)

@alyd-asmar Thank you!

I also noticed after the end of the jam, that rushing seemed to work better most of the time and it seems to have gone under my radar during the jam (perhaps due to it being pretty late after midnight when I finally published it). I agree that I should have played around with the RNG a bit.

And the idea of having the player check the mail sounds fun! I never thought of that during the jam!

Great game! I liked the simplicety, the only thing is that after a while it got a bit repetetive, but besides that it is great game!

obe-dot 2023-05-02 17:55

Really nice game!

greenrose7 2023-05-02 17:57

Cute and simple! I like the core of it, but I did have a hard time figuring out what I was supposed to be doing, or when I got something wrong or right.

Like the other commenter, I think it always turned out best to avoid the post office and just risk it on all the packages 😅

sava-tsurkanu 2023-05-02 18:22

Wow, what a little tiny warm piece of adorableness!

I like the sounds, music, the simplicity! Great job.

BTW, I tried to rush and deliver as much as I could and it seems to work for me.

I love how you did the title screen and tutorial. Very unique and it didn't feel boring/annoying like most tutorials. I had the option to quit at any time. When I entered level one, I couldn't figure out what to do. didn't see my character anywhere and clicking on things didn't do anything. Not sure what to do here :/

jatinstic-gaming 2023-05-04 06:44

@wadlo I am so sorry about that.

It looks like the character was getting sent to a point way beyond the map. Though I am not sure what could have caused it. My best guess is that something went wrong while uploading the files to GitHub even though its very unlikely. I have implemented a new patch by just duplicating the second level and editing the map, and everything seems to be working fine now.

As for the UI not doing anything, the UI is disabled for the first 5 seconds when the IDs of the Mailboxes are being shown, but is enabled again when it goes away.

The title screen was amazing. I love how you built the tutorial into it. Although, even with the tutorial, it took me a while to understand the game. The 0 above the player was hard to understand and it wasn't intuitive enough that the mails had to be put back in the boxes that they actually belonged to. I think rewording the tutorial should fix it. Apart from that, it was fun to play.

jatinstic-gaming 2023-05-04 10:42

@ohfacts Thank you for your feedback!

I have now reworded the tutorial and replaced a zero with a dash to (hopefully) make it more understandable.

As for the mails being put back into the mailboxes, that is actually a really nice finding. I have now changed the narrative a little bit and replaced "delivering" with "sorting" as it would be a better word. Thank you for pointing that out!

mmisspelling 2023-05-04 13:37

cute art! i do agree that the tutorial could be clearer, it took me a good while before i understood how it worked.

nivbeth 2023-05-04 14:37

I didn't have any troubles understanding the game and got through the levels fine. I have to admit though, that it isn't as fun as I imagined it to be, because the tasks are very repetitive and the further you would go with new level designs, the more you will have to remember which could be quite frustrating at some point. I would suggest to add further mechanics to improve gaming expierence over all :v:

But I also want to point out, that it absolutely fits the theme and is very cute. I liked the idea very much in general. Great job!

the-martijn 2023-05-04 14:52

Hmm, maybe I missed something, but I didn't understand what I was doing at all..

jatinstic-gaming 2023-05-04 16:12

@nutvillagegames @nivbeth I completely agree that the levels do get very repetitive due to the lack of new gameplay elements. I did plan to implement some, though I am not sure if the rules will allow it during the rating period.

@the-martijn Honestly, this is exactly what I was thinking when I hurriedly published the game late after midnight . I would've loved to add some new animations to properly tell what was actually going on but unfortunately I cannot add anything new during the rating period (I might be misinterpreting it). :(

nuin 2023-05-05 00:21

Unique idea, no issues, good job

saltysa 2023-05-05 20:57

Somehow I couldn't deliver packages during the third level? It just wouldn't work... Other than that I had fun with the first two levels : Here are my scores! Capture.PNG Capture2.PNG

Nice entry, I had fun playing this. It did take me a few tries to figure out how to play but once I figured it out I enjoyed what you created. Overall nice work!
