You have created really relaxing atmosphere and I think there could be potential when adding purpose to the actions you do.

I love the aesthetic of this! Even if there's no objective, walking around the colorful woods was a relaxing experience.

@spacecadet thanks :) I actually invested a lot of time implementing different cursors for the different resources, plus detecting In and Out of Range, having the right tools and skill level, item in the inventory, etc. But it's all there, used without purpose :P

I LOVE the idea of using photos from your real life as assets. I believe they can carry emotion values that give the whole vibe a unique taste. And yes, even if with no objectives, the game is good enough to spend some quality time on. Keep up the great work!

I lost myself in this world for a short period. a relaxed entry. Shame that you ran out of time to give the harvested stuff a meaning

@ale @deimos @ryupold thanks :)

@deimos I agree! That's why I am a texture/photo hoarder. I take more photos of the ground than of anything else. So many memories related to these textures.

Turns out I really dig these "cozy" games where there's no real goal (you set your own; I felt like climbing the mountains) and it just relaxes you. I was getting real Daggerfall vibes from this and triggered nostalgia for the 90s style first person RPGs that looked like this. If you do get the urge to continue it; I like the idea of just exploring and wandering around, maybe just add little things to discover (like you were trying with the resources)?

Really fun with the texture thing, I love the whole vibe it gives off! Def gives me vibes of old games :))

Comfortable vibe. Such a special and beautiful game!

An unusual entry! The graphics has the vibes of PS1 but also the grass moves with wind which looks fun :) Beautiful music. Of course there's pretty much no gameplay so I can't comment on that. A few bugs and suggestions: - When harvesting those 4 spherical plants, selecting them with a mouse works a bit weird - it doesn't always detect looking at the plant, sometimes shows a strange mouse pointer and I've no idea what it means, etc. - In a few places around the map, the grass grows right in the air, as if it uses a different heightmap compared to the player & the terrain. - The billboard trees are not centered on where their trunks are, which lead to the following effect: when you go around such a tree, it rotates to face the camera, and only its center stays at the same spot, while the trunk rotates as well and has a visible movement, as it you are "dancing" with it :)

Unexpected Unity game from you. I like the music and visuals. However, it would have been better to add some postprocess shader like I used in some of our previous games. Also, the movement speed doesn't match the music, it's too fast, it would have been better just to walk slowly around an gather flowers for your small house.

hayricakir 2023-01-13 19:16

Relaxing experience.

@amkingtrp thanks! I definitely did not think of Daggerfall, but now that you mention it, I can also see it in the game :P

@jfeeefl @harlow thanks!

@lisyarus thanks and thanks for the bug list. The game is incomplete, I lost interest in finishing it, so yeah a lot of undone/broken things!

@tricky-fat-cat thanks! I like to jump between multiple engines, depending on my mood and project type. The game is incomplete, I abandoned it, but decided to publish just to not throw everything away. It actually has a very slight post processing volume tho, otherwise the colors would be very bland. And if I added even more post-processing it would lose the N64 feel, i.e. for example Bloom is a no go.

@hayricakir ty!

A nice tranquil experience, for a bit :-) -- I did think the music was a bit much tough, maybe I'd have preferred just the birdsong and other nature sounds.

I actually didn't mind the speed. If the player wants to walk slowly, then walk slowly, just like in real life.

And because apparently I can't stop complaining about a beautiful little game: I think I'd have started off the player near the middle, instead of the edge of the world, where the artifice is already visible if you just turn around.
