Best game ever!

lucafoz 2023-01-09 20:14

Absolute fun with this game!!

mistagiggles 2023-01-09 21:20

Great tune, but I think my game was running out of sync? After a while the buttons didn't seem to line up with the beat of the music anymoire? Really like the artwork, and like the concept too!

Cute game! Like all rhythm games, I struggled to know if I was pressing keys too early or too late, some visual feedback would be nice to add. It also got difficult VERY quickly and I wasn't expecting it. Great entry!

joshkirby 2023-01-09 21:24

@kyle-landon Thanks alot for the feedback! We simply ran out of time for adding the visual feedback. We're so close to adding things such as particles and a bit more of a clear hitbox. Again, I really appreciate your comment!

The music seemed desynced from the button timings on my computer, but it was still fun. Good music!

pitisek 2023-01-10 11:30

Nice music, just kept smashing all four arrows all the time, had 100% and Score 1 in the end :D

wobbleblocks 2023-01-10 14:09

I never thought I'd see a rhythm game for an LD! But great work :D

neilcorre2k6 2023-01-10 14:21

Well that ending was surprising. Nice music, I like the beat, although I thing it's not synced. Good game though!

joshkirby 2023-01-10 17:03

@neilcorre2k6 Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, its not actually meant to be synced, as the notes are procedural. Probably a good idea to include that in the description haha

This is a very cute looking game :-)

I felt weird about the arrows not fitting into the music, and now read here they were generated, but I think it would be better to fit them in. Also on the right side of the screen I got a 96% rating and then my final score was 1% and my monster exploded? I am confused. But I liked the music and the hand-drawn art.

Great game! Brilliant idea and super execution ^^

calzone407 2023-01-12 22:49

It's cute, I like it. Would liked to see more, but I get it XD I think the sound effects for the arrows were kind of annoying, but the music was good

A fun little rythm game, I don't know if there is punishment for hitting the wrong buttons, but I assume so as I got a score of 1 at the end after i was smashing all the keys all the time, but a little visual representation would have been nice. The graphics are super cute though and making a rythm game druing a jam can't have been easy. Well done!

hexyvexy 2023-01-14 21:45

Adorable, but having the input highway larger on the screen would have been nice.

secrt101 2023-01-18 01:40

Arrow sounds didn't seem to go with the music...but I loved seeing a rhythm game in the jam! Super cute little monster! Though I was bad at the game...so was not expecting that for poor monster D: Overall, good job!

Fun game, I enjoy rythem game a lot so this was a plesant surprise. Though I did find it kind of unfortunate to have to hit the notes on the upper-left screen. I could barely see the smiling, fun fuzz-ball with my peripheral vision. In the future, perhaps it would be nice to avoid the edges of the screen when you're going to hit the beat?

As an avid rythemgame player, it was nice to not see how accurate I could hit the notes, which made me more focused on hitting the buttons rather than focusing on if I hit them accurately (for a change). Though it wouuld have been nice to see at the result screen how many I've missed or hit.

I did notice the note chart changing every game, or at least that's how it would seem to me. Only slight changes to inputs, but similar combo patterns appears. From my experience, this makes the game more about trying to hit the right notes at the right time, rather than learning the note chart till you master the beat.

Regardless it's impressive the amount of work done within a limited time. GG

PS. Quite creative to see bread, cheese etc. below the arrow keys. Fits with the kitchen.
