Is there a link ? Or you do not posted your game ?
@lorwon Hi, I haven't posted yet. I'm in the Extra category and it took me a while. Now I've posted the project and you can test it and tell me what you think. Sorry for the delay in responding.
I guess we can't rate "extra" games, but it was really pretty well done. I enjoyed it.
@simplepotential Glad you liked it. I will be working on it for a while longer after Ludum Dare ends. My goals are: add an ending, add music (I intend to make original music on the guitar, I think it would be nice to have a very original and unique atmosphere), and add more layers of difficulty until reaching this ending. The player is always flying up, I must add a specific height as the end of the level. Thanks for testing.
When you go all the way to the right you can cheat the system :) I like that you included a high scoce. The game is pretty hard. I never survived the "Red" round without cheating :) Also it would help of the blue bits are indicated before the come to get ready for them. The art is pretty interesting. did you get the side panels from a photo and the spikes are handdrawn? Good UI on top of the screen. Thank you for making the game :)
@bloham In fact, everything was hand-drawn, including the sides. Since the sides and part of the top menu are drawings that I had already done for other projects, but used in other different ways. I reuse a lot of my art. I really didn't plan on making a hard game, and it's one thing that annoys me a lot about indie games, the exacerbated difficulty, and I made the same mistake here then. I will review this. I'll follow your tip on being able to anticipate the blue energy balls somehow. As for cheating, I will eliminate the chance to do so. I also intend to improve the top interface by increasing the fonts a little bit. And also a song would go well, something ambient a little dark and dystopian. I really appreciate your feedback, thank you.
@bloham When the screen turns red, don't hold the fly button, just keep pressing and releasing so you don't spend all your energy. But I'm currently implementing a new mechanic, if the energy runs out and you press the button to fly, the player will glide, not just fall too fast. This will help to stay alive.
nice, I also plan to release an after Jam version. Feel free to tag me when you released your version 2 and I am giving it another try :)
I love the artstyle! It reminds me a lot of H.R.Geiger. The blue powerups can be a little hard to get in time, but other than that it's really good!
The idea is very good, I liked the game, you need to put a tutorial inside the game and not just on the itch.io page, because most people won't see it and you lose people's chance to play because they don't find the button quickly, put a song to make the gameplay more satisfying, congratulations for the participation that is the 1 of many to come, a big hug.
You are absolutely right, it is necessary to explain the buttons in the game itself, many must have died for this. Really the music will be added after Jam, it is very much missed. I will continue the project because I enjoyed working on it and received good feedback about the game. Thanks for the feedback.
Doesn't look like I can rate an extra game, didn't realise until after I played. But I did play, so here's a comment at least ๐ I liked the graphics, gritty hand-painted look reminds me of Machinarium. Fits a fly in some kind of machine! Helicopter-like audio was funny, if a bit grating ๐ Played well but fairly difficult! My only real complaint would be that X should've been used in the menu instead of enter IMO but that doesn't even affect the main gameplay so~ย Nice game!
@ava-skoog Thanks for playing and commenting. Really for the sounds I just used Bfxr and I couldn't get anything better than that lol. But I also didn't think it was the right sound for a flapping of wings. It sounds really annoying from time to time. Good observation. Soon this will be changed, as well as most of the sounds, and also the graphics, although I liked them, but I consider them as a draft at this point, something like just what could have been done for Jam in time. They can be improved. I don't want to make a difficult game, but it looks like it's difficult, and that needs to be balanced too. I'll also consider about the X button to fly, since I wasn't the only person who told me about it. Thanks.
